Nice to have a restaurant in the Blacklick area serving a large selection of drinks! The drink menu had draft beers, bottles, wines, cocktails, whiskey, bourbons, etc. and was 2 pages long. This is a family friendly place. Yes they have kids menu. We stopped by for an impromptu birthday dinner for a party of 9. Due to social distancing, the they could not accommodate seating that would fit all of us (while the state covid max was 10). Thus, we split at the bar and high tops. There was no option to add a table to the high top of 4. It was nice of the waitress to help accommodate our idea but stinks they didn't have a creative solution. Bartender and waitress were great. Food however was just OKAY. Mac and cheese wedge, amazing! Beer battered onion rings and vegetarian pizza were dry. Beer battered Haddock Fish Sandwich was okay... overcooked towards the tail so I was only able to eat half. Chicken wings were OKAY... seem like sauce was tossed on. Not much flavor. Though the size of the wings were big. It was nice of the waitress/bartender to bring out a slice of cake for the birthday guest. Overall good spot for drinks and light apps. I have visited this location a few times for work lunches, as it is just down the road. Each time I have enjoyed the food I ordered, had excellent wait staff and overall just enjoyed the experience. Having been to many of the other locations in Cleveland, as well as Columbus, it is on par with the other locations. If you want good bar staples, you won't be let down. read more

I JUST moved to Blacklick from Clintonville and thought I'd check out a place for happy hour. The food and drinks were good. No complaints here- Winking Lizard always does a good job with the unhealthy and delicious bar food. The atmosphere is just like ever other Winking Lizard. Tons of televisions playing sports and some news. The service was decent. The staff was friendly and I was served promptly. What I was surprised about is how quiet it was in there. I stopped during prime happy hour time and other than myself and a handful of folks on a work happy hour (they eventually moved to a large table) it was real quiet. I'll be going back there at some point to see if that's typical. read more

We waited about 15-20mins before anyone even came over to greet us, and then it took another 20mins before we got water. The server never checked on us after bringing our food and they weren't super busy to where he would have been overloaded with tables. One of my favorite places to grab food around my house! Although I order the same food every time, which is the buffalo chicken wrap with a side of Mac and cheese (and sometimes Mac n cheese bites), it's always delicious! Usually I order to go, and the turn around time is always 15-25 minutes which is pretty quick to me. I've dined here a handful of times and always had a pleasant experience. What a fun place to enjoy food with friends. My hubby and I love this location. We've been going here many times ever since they first opened. The wait staff and hosts are always very friendly and in the ball. They servers have always been attentive and happy. Every time I have gone here we always like to bring friends. Even when we aren't meeting friends we always see someone that we know enjoying the food, sports on the TVs or relaxing on the patio. The food is so good. I love the Loaded Potato skins and mozzarella sticks on the Repitizers (Appetizers) section. They have delicious wings with a variety of sauces. Their Lizard salad and chopped salad along with their steak with Asparagus salad can't be beat! You can also get St Louis style ribs, Variety of sandwiches, entrees, soups salads just about anything you would like. Their pizza is night tasty too. The atmosphere is fun, laid back and full of friendly people. If you just want to go to the bar to relax, they have a great selection of whiskey and beer to choose from. Last time we ate there (a month ago) the music was blaring, not like can't just have a conversation, but like painful to your ears after an hour. Had a headache the rest of the night. Ordered online and did curbside pickup. Ordered bourbon chicken wings, onion rings, and nachos with beef. The wings were a nice size and the sauce was tasty. The onions rings were just okay. I like mine crispy and these were more soft breaded. The nachos were a huge disappointment. We paid over $2.00 extra for beef and I'm pretty sure it was a hamburger that was chopped up and thrown on top. It was lacking cheese and the chips were almost burnt around the edges. read more

The sandwich was just like I ordered it. (Medium well) perfect! Great sautéed onions and melted cheese. My husband ordered a garlic pizza with white sauce and spinach. He loved the crust and crispy texture it had. They also have drink specials so I had a 32oz labat blue for $5.50. It was cold and served in a frosted glass. Went on a Saturday night..seated right away...not really all that busy. Complimentary popcorn that you can go up and serve yourself in paper bags to bring back to your table. Our server Daniel was super friendly and attentive. I ordered the western burger and subbed the steak fries for mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was on the drier side..it was just okay. The hamburger was cooked exactly as I had ordered and the bbq sauce and all the toppings made for a tasty burger. The menu appeared to be pretty basic bar food. Note to my east-side neighbors: never, EVER go here. We've been to countless Winking Lizards in both central and northern Ohio, so we were excited to have this one open near us. We chalked up the slow service and mediocre food on our first visit to opening month kinks that needed to be worked out. However, when we have it a second chance today we were sat and then waited for over 15 minutes without so much as a server coming by to take our drink order. Hostesses and other wait staff walked by a number of times, and not once did someone ask if we had been helped. We finally decided to find dinner elsewhere (which isn't a choice made lightly when you've got a hungry 22-month old with you). Skip this place... or at least find one of the legit locations, like in Cleveland. read more

Went to the Winking Lizard and wasn't thrilled. Heard great things about the place and I was unimpressed. Same kind of food that exists in all the other places of its kind. I love Caribbean jerk sauce but this wing sauce tasted like thanksgiving dinner in a bad way. Got it on boneless wings that were dry and cold. I didn't even bother to ask for something different or have them heated up. I also got the 4 slider burgers with steak fries and it was something I could've done at home. They were dry and fell apart in my hands. The server was nice and attentive for the most part. I'd prefer to never go back. Just my opinion though. read more

Attentiveness of bartenders could be better. It shouldn't be too much to ask that the bartenders stop by each patron at the and check in more often to see who needs service. A patron shouldn't have to flag down a bartender to get a drink or a food menu after over 10-15 minutes of sitting down. Food and beer tastes good. Attentive service could improve. read more

A great gathering spot for happy hours, especially if you love beer. The beer selection is impressive. I wish they had more gluten-free beer options (not cider), as well as more veg and gluten-free food items. The food menu is bar food, heavy on the meats and fried foods, nothing fancy. Winking Lizard has long been my husband and my's favorite spot. They consistently have the best wings at a great price with a great atmosphere and friendly service. All of this was confirmed when I contacted Winking in the hopes they could cater my small COVID wedding. I received a prompt, eager response almost immediately and had the pleasure of working with the General Manager, Paul. He helped me create a limited menu our guests would love and personally saw to it that we were delivered hot food right on time. We had an order for about 25 people and every single box was labeled so we could easily distribute it and NOT ONE thing in the order was incorrect or forgotten, even down to extra blue cheese sauces. Not to mention this is all within days of the store re opening after the pandemic. This demonstrates exceptional service, attention to detail, and care for their customers! read more

Ugh. I'm a Winking Lizard veteran. Peninsula used to be my haunt, and I've hit the Crosswoods location in recent years. If I'm trading Crosswoods for this hot-mess location, I'm getting a raw deal. It's small in here, they don't have enough tables. It's freaking loud, you can't hold a conversation without yelling. The food was mediocre at best -- my fries were barely warm and were soggy as all get-out. It's not a typical winking lizard experience. Perhaps they're working the kinks out. Pass, y'all. read more

I never write reviews but I am now done with this location. I've been here several times and always get drinks and a to go food order. I've now waited an hour for a salad and the place is empty. I got a grilled cheese last time and it was literally uncooked. I've received really good food here but it's way too inconsistent for me to keep coming back. I promise I have given too many chances.
