My hair stylist highly recommended that I make an appointment to try on wedding dresses at Winnie Couture in Beverly Hills, CA. So, that's what I did! I called and scheduled my appointment with Ruth for Sat., Nov. 30, 2019. Ruth was very helpful over the phone with answering all of my questions and making me feel important. Our phone call ended with me feeling confident that I would be taken great care of. On Sat., Nov. 30, 2019, I came into Winnie Couture for my appointment with my Bride Squad made up of my mother, father, three Bridesmaids, and my sister who is also my Maid of Honor! I was able to meet Ruth in-person, and she was as sweet in-person as she sounded over the phone. Ruth accommodated me and my entire Bride Squad, and she continued to make me feel special. Ruth was a great listener to what my vision was for trying on wedding dresses, she gave me great suggestions and feedback, and she was very insightful with answering all of our questions with each dress I tried on. After trying on several wedding dresses, there was one dress that I tried on twice and both times it gave me the raw emotions that I was looking to have when I found "The One." Ruth was right there with me being attentive and bringing me tissues. At the end of my appointment, I ended up saying "Yes" to my dream wedding dress! A time that signifies memories of happiness and excitement turned into a red face and that aweful feeling you get in your stomach when someone makes you feel really badly. That's how our experience at Winnie couture was. We walked in and the salesperson (Sarah) didn't get up to say hello she sat with her legs folded liked a pretzel in her chair with her hand on her chin. after standing in front of her for about a minute I asked who do we talk to and get started she said "me". Before she would even stand up (she never did actually) she kept asking the bride to be where she has looked. The bride excitedly pulled out her phone in the hopes that by showing her what she tried on and liked so the conversation could get started of what she likes what she's looking for. when she got interrupted by Sarah who seemed very irritated by us she got to her point by flat out asking "well what is your budget?" The bride said she'd like to stay at around a thousand but if it was something she Loved that she is willing to go up in budget. Sarah finally looked the bride in the face and said" wellll our dresses start at 3 thousand so yeah". Then it was just silent none of us really knew what to say. we looked at each other like did that really happen??? We left in a very awkward way in complete silence without a goodbye from Sarah. I don't recommend this store to anyone not even a person who Sarah would feel worthy of standing up for when they walked in. My bridal experience this past Saturday was WONDERFUL!!! All the girls who work there are so lovely and helpful. I had the pleasure of having Brittany find me my dream dress, she was the best! From the moment I walked in I felt great. She was listened to what I wanted in my dress and pull some magnificent pieces for me to try on, my dream dress being one of them. My friends and family had a great time as well. I had a fairly large party with me and was a bit nervous but everyone treated my party so great. The room was big and beautiful. Winnie Couture was the fifth bridal salon I went to... and my last! I found THE PERFECT DRESS there, and I'm counting down the days until it arrives! Here is how my Winnie story went: When I submitted a request online for more information, someone called me the very next day and let me know that I would receive 15% off a dress if I purchased it during my first visit. I wasn't ready at that time to make an appointment though (it was during the holidays), but then I received a call from them the following day letting me know that they would give me 20% off a dress during my first visit. A little bit confusing, but oh well :). After four other appointments at other salons (Lovella, Lovely, La Soie and JLM Couture -- all had amazing staff and wonderful dress selections; I just didn't find THE dress at any of them), I made my way over to Winnie with three bridesmaids. It was POURING rain that day and absolutely miserable outside, but my stylist, Marlin, was so warm and welcoming. She offered us water and champagne and even happily refilled for us when one of my bridesmaids knocked down our glasses with her umbrella and rain gear. Marlin had some dress options picked already for me based on what I told her I was looking for. We browsed the racks together, and she suggested that I try on this one dress that I was not too sure about. "It looks great on; better than on the hanger, I swear," she said. And OMG, she was so right -- the dress looked amazing. The moral of the story is to TRUST MARLIN. She knows what looks good on brides, what styles work with your body shape. Now, I wasn't ready to say yes to the dress yet -- I had just come from JLM Couture and there was another dress that I also liked from there. I vacillated back and forth, looking at dozens of pictures (oh, all the salons I went to allowed pictures btw!), being indecisive, not sure what to do. I always thought that when I found the dress, I would know immediately and start crying... but I didn't. Marlin did not pressure me in any way, and gave me and my bridesmaids time and space to think things over. The pressure element came from the fact that I had to purchase the dress that day to receive the discount (which Marlin told me was 15%). Marlin then presented me with two options to consider: 15% off the Blush label version, or 20% off the Diamond label version. See, Winnie has two label options for most (if not all) of her dresses -- the Blush label has satin lining and is the less expensive option, and the Diamond label has silk lining and is the more expensive option (the difference was over $1K for the dress I wanted). I couldn't justify spending $1K+ more for something no one would ever see, so I was only interested in the Blush label version, even though I would get a bigger discount with the Diamond label version. I was still torn and couldn't make a decision; I needed to get out for a while and clear my head. Marlin was very supportive and said that I didn't need to decide at that very moment, that the discount offer would hold until the end of the day. I actually then went back to JLM with my bridesmaids and tried on the other dress I was considering. After seeing the other dress one more time, it became crystal clear that the dress from Winnie was THE ONE. I'm so thankful that Marlin was so accommodating with giving me that extra time to think things over -- sometimes that's just what you need to be sure you're making the right decision. After all, it's a very pricey decision and not one to take lightly! So back to Winnie we went! And after another round of champs and almost $3K poorer (well, half of that for the 50% deposit), I walked out knowing that I would be wearing my dream dress at my wedding. I could not be happier. YAAAAAAAS QUEEN! Update: I came back two months later this past weekend to look at accessories (I'm on the hunt for the perfect belt/sash), and Marlin was just as warm and helpful as ever before. I brought in a gem sample for a belt I was eyeing on Etsy to hold against the dress. Marlin had no problem with this or with me taking pictures, comparing their belts and my Etsy sample side by side. She didn't try to sell me on the Winnie belt (which was 5x more expensive than my Etsy version), giving me her honest opinion that she thought the Etsy belt would work perfectly fine. I really appreciated her honesty! After thinking about it more though, I might just wind up getting that Winnie belt after all... I just loved it! Marlin did let me know that a check-in on Yelp gets you 10% off accessories, so she may be hearing from me again soon enough ;). We came in here with a gaggle of girls to try on my girlfriend's first round of wedding dresses. She was matched up with Amanda, an absolutely amazing consultant who must be a reincarnation of Mother Theresa, because the woman had endless reserves of patience. The space is super fun and girly, though it has a hint of what my friend referred to as 'boom boom room' chic... shag carpeting, velvet everywhere, hot pink and jacquard galore. But I liked that they really seemed to encourage people to come along with the bride to be and give their advice, with their comfy couches and little private dressing areas. There were quite a few dresses in there that my friend really loved, especially one sexy beaded number. Amanda offered a 15% discount if she purchased that day. I totally get why bridal dress places do this, but I would guess it rarely works, as this is huge commitment and a girl needs to let things like this marinate for a night or two at least. As someone who's also on the hunt for a wedding dress, I was impressed with their selection. They had lots of different cuts and styles, whether you're into sparkly, poofy or satiny. I did find that some of the samples seemed a little worn out... I feel like maybe they should go through more often and make sure the samples are perfect, because that's a girl's first impression of THE dress! The only other complaint I had was that it was so darn hot in there that we were all sweating and feeling dehydrated by the end of our hour and a half appointment. A little AC next time, please... Bad measuring and bad listening cost me lots of money. I've been meaning to write this for a while. My wedding was almost 4 years ago. My dress ended up being lovely, but I almost had a melt down when I got it. The girl in the store who did my measuring did not know what she was doing. She measured in all the wrong places.I told her she was not measuring correctly and she claimed she practiced a lot and knew what she was doing and wouldn't listen. I'm very petite with a 24" waste and 34 hips size 0. She wrote me down as 27 1/2" waste and 37" hips because she basically measured my hips as my waste and butt as my hips so too low! I told her once again that is wrong, but she kinda shrugged at me like I guess you got bigger. The dress was HUGE when it finally arrived and the seamstress had issues even removing all the fabric necessary to make it fit and had to basically reconstruct the bodice for $700. They need to listen more and apparently teach their staff what body parts are what. They also never took the picture they take of everyone when you say yes to the dress so that's a small thing, but made feel like I didn't look good enough for them to do that. I then sent them a pic of me at my wedding and they didn't post that either. Guess I don't look good enough for them. I wouldn't use them again, but I do hope this is the only time lol! read more

All in all, very nice looking shop, gorgeous dresses and reasonable prices. I feel like my consultant was having a bad day or wanted to go home or something... which is unfortunate because even though I liked their dresses, I won't be going back. I was really excited to try on bridal gowns for the first time, and my mom even flew down from SF to be there with me when I did. I booked an appointment at Winnie Couture based on their good Yelp reviews, and they called twice to confirm my day and time. A good sign! But when we got there, the receptionist barely looked up from the conversation she was having to check me in. She asked me to fill out a form and then the woman she was talking to (who didn't look up) when we came in introduced herself as my consultant. I was immediately bummed. This clearly wasn't going to be an exciting appointment for anyone. Now I can understand a shop in Beverly Hills treating customers who don't look like they can afford the clothes differently-- but this was not the case here. My mom and I both looked very nice and I told them my budget was their highest price-point. There was no reason for her to be so BLAH. From here, the consultant walked us into the showroom, which was gorgeous. I felt giddy seeing so many lovely gowns hanging in a pink and purple boudoir. But the wonder stopped there. The consultant told me which dresses were which and said "tell me which ones you want to try on and I'll grab them". I picked out 5, assuming we'd pull more after I got a feel for the 5 different once I chose-- but after I tried those on she seemed like going out to get more was an unusual chore. "Well, yeah. I can go grab one like that... but you said you liked THIS kind" (pointing to the dresses I pulled initially. Um, what? I'm here to try on different dresses because I don't know what I want/need. Isn't this the point? One last thing: there was no mention of dress sizes. They didn't ask me what size I was on the form or when I booked my appointment, but apparently all sample dresses are a size 8 (which is a size 6 in normal sizes). I am about an 8 (which would be a size 10 in wedding gown sizes) and couldn't even pull up some of the dresses I wanted to try on. I understand the cliental here is not generally larger than a size 6... but would it be that hard to confirm my dress size and avoid certain styles as a result? Yeah-- would've been awesome. What should have been a 90 minute appointment was over in about 40 minutes. I just felt uncomfortable -- the way the staff at a restaurant that's about to close makes you feel. But I wasn't here to buy grilled salmon, I wanted to buy a $5000 gown. Oh well. read more

My mother dragged me in here. I was dead set on going to New York to go dress shopping. I went to another boutique and found 2 dresses that I fell in love with. My mother insisted that I make an appointment here, before spending money on flights and a hotel in New York. I came with my sister (MOH) and my mother. I had no expectations and expected to just have a fun day trying on dresses. Having grown up in L.A., I've driven past Winnie Couture numerous times. I always assumed that there was no way I'd find something here in my price range. I arrived at the glamorous lobby. Everything was lush, extravagant, and girlie. As my mother and sister squealed with excitement I remained unenthused, since I knew I wouldn't find anything. Sarai approached us and brightly introduced herself. She asked many questions and listened to all of my responses. Then she told me to roam the shop and pull what I liked. What? I know how this goes, I fall in love with a dress, then find out it's out of my price range and I wind up spending my cake money on my dress. Still, I went with it. I pulled way more dresses than I needed. As I tried on dress after dress Sarai connected even more with me. We were giggling and swapping stories as she swapped dress after dress. When I finally found the dress (yes I found it) she pointed out that it was the only dress that I didn't mention any changes. I am so happy that I was paired up with Sarai. She was just the right match for me. If you are not as decisive as I am, you do have so many options for switching tops and skirts in order to make your perfect dress. Winnie Couture is definitely dreamy - their cute & candy-like interior won my heart!! We were very excited to walk into this store. Pink, purple, beige, and overall sparkly interior just makes you feel like you're in a fairy tale land. Dresses here are pretty unique and are made custom from Hong Kong. They're fit perfectly for your size and they don't charge a thing for alteration, which is a plus. I watched their videos from The Knot and Winnie is a very inspiring young designer. Two of the storepeople who helped us out were very nice and friendly - although one of them (blonde) didn't seem like she was as knowledgeable as the other person. The other girl was much more enthusiastic and helped my friend pick out several dresses that she liked. Overall, I liked Winnie Couture a lot. I just wish they had more simple-looking dresses without a lot of beads and fluffy stuff all around them. I was happy with the dress I ordered from them except- they messed up on ordering my size. I got fitted in a large gown, and they showed me what it would look like when it got tailored. I am a size 4-my chest is 32DDD. So they ordered me a standard size 4 dress. When I got it- my boobs were too big for the dress!!!! They ended up giving me a size 8 they had In the back to accommodate my boobs and I had to go get it altered. It was a headache. They should have measured me correctly, or ordered me a larger dress in the first place. I had to take the gown they had in the back- that other people used to try on etc... It sucked, but I didn't have enough time to wait for them to order another dress. The customer service was not good. Was not a good experience for me. I don't even want my dress to keep anymore. By luck, this was the very first place I tried on dresses and I was fortunate enough to do it in January right before the world locked down. I fell in love with the very first dress I tried on (what are the chances?). Everyone was so incredibly friendly and gave me an amazing bridal experience. I was only able to try one other place due to restrictions . I knew it was fate, I was meant to have the first dress I tried on and couldn't stop thinking about. The dress I picked does not have sleeves, and that was the one quality my fiancé wanted the dress to have. Abegail stepped in and went above and beyond with her customer service. I wanted to see what the sleeves would look like on the dress before moving forward. Abegail photoshopped the sleeves onto my dress (which she is under absolutely no obligation to do) and helped me feel confident with ordering my dress. She virtually walked my family through taking my measurements and helped me add on all the customizations I wanted. I picked up my dress on Friday and perfect doesn't even begin to describe it. DO NOT go here at any cost! These people are a nightmare to deal with. My girlfriend and I went in there to look for a wedding dress. Our sales associate (I won't mention her name) seriously got is drunk and pressed me into buying a gown. When I called back to ask them to cancel they said I signed a contract...I don't remember signing anything as I was drinking. I called and called and it seems this business could care less. The lady who helped me was no longer there, The owner is no where to be found and let's his employees run the show. It's such a shame. They ended up selling my dress, taking my deposit and sending me to collections. This is completely unfair. Especially since I don't even have the gown or it was special ordered. At this point I have contacted an attorney because there's no other way to get ahold of these people. I found out about this place at bridal world in Anaheim. Out of all the venders and bridal shops this places was the only one who offered to book an appointment right then. Although I didn't get my wedding dress here, I loved everything about Winnie Couture and had the best experience here. It was definitely my favorite bridal salon and would highly recommend it for all bride-to-be's that are dress shopping. First off, the salon is gorgeous - it feels fancy but is also fun and girly. They have plush sofa's, soft carpeting and lots of pinks. They have a perfect set-up so that each bride has her own area to try on dresses and show family/friends. Another really nice thing is that they allow you to take pictures, which is really helpful. I visited Winnie Couture 2x. The first time, we just randomly stopped by (after a disappointing visit to Panache - see my review there) - and although I didn't have an appointment, they were able to fit us in which was really nice and convenient. My consultant was Monika and she was awesome. She walked us through the different sections and let us look around and pick dresses that we liked. She was also really great at recommending other dresses that she thought I might like based on some of my initial selections, which was really helpful. Trying on dresses was really easy going and fun, just like how it should be. Monika also explained that all dresses are custom made so you can add or remove any design elements. Also, if you're on a tighter budget (like I was), there are cheaper fabrics (i.e., satin vs silk) that they can use to help with the costs. My 2nd visit was a few months later with my mom, MOH and one of my bridesmaid. Monika was my consultant again and she was so great. For all of you brides-to-be, definitely try to make an appointment with Monika, she will take care of you. In the end, there were 3 dresses that I really liked, but I ultimately went with a dress from a different salon. However, I can't say enough about my entire experience at Winnie Couture. The day I walked into Winnie Couture, I knew I had found the one!! I knew from the moment I saw it on the hanger. Not only was this most stunning dress I'd ever seen, but the staff at Winnie are all LOVELY! All of my appointments were so much fun and WC was a joy to work with. I'm officially a Winnie bride, and couldn't be more ecstatic! This was the first shop I had an appointment at the day I tried wedding dresses on (for the first time) and it was by far the best! The salon is so gorgeous and instantly felt like a bride. Prior to your appointment you are able to go online and choose dresses for your stylist to grab for you. One dress in particular caught my attention. I was in love with the picture, but figured it was out of my price range. This was the first dress I ended up trying on, and fell in complete love with it! My stylist, Monika was perfect, seriously, love her! She is so helpful with pulling dresses that fit your style, she makes you feel comfortable, asked me questions about how my fiancé and I met and supplied champagne for me, my friends and mom. I tried on around 7 dresses after the first, and kept thinking about that first dress! We left Winnie After our hr appointment and went to two other salons. Nothing compared to Winnie and the service I received from Monika. Nothing! I tried on beautiful dresses, but couldn't stop thinking about the first gown. After a long day of trying on dresses, I went back to Winnie and tried my dream dress on. Instant tears on my end and friends! I knew it was the one. Monika even worked with my budget and made small adjustments to the dress that brought down the cost. I've read reviews that once you purchase your dress, the staff doesn't care about your needs. I honestly can't see this happening. I can not wait to get my dress! I know I'm in good hands. LOVE this dress shop! I was a little nervous about going here to try on dresses because I thought I'd never be able to afford anything in this fancy Beverly Hills store. My friend convinced me to at least go and try some on so I'd get an idea of what type of dresses I liked. Went in on President's Day, and to my surprise, they had a sale going on. I told my stylist I was on a low budget and didn't want to spend over $1000. She showed me dresses in my price range, and was very understanding. I thought they'd look down on me for not being able to spend thousands on my dress, but that was not the case at all! She even went to the back and pulled some "sample dresses" that were possibly in my price range. I ended up loving one of the dresses she brought out from the back. She spoke to the Manager and was able to arrange a 50% discount on it. I didn't mind buying a sample dress, since it was still beautiful and I didn't have to break the bank. Plus, I took the dress home with me that day! Overall, I felt very comfortable in this store and am very, very happy with my dress! Can't wait to wear it on my special day in August. Every girl dreams for this big day and to be in her favorite dress on her wedding. My story was different! When I visited Winnie couture I already had ordered a dress which I though was my dream dress. As I walked in and was greeted with Beautiful Marilyn, who was helping my cousin to get her bridal gown, I was mesmerized by this one dress and my I couldn't get my eyes off of it. It was perfect. I was beautiful. But I already had a dress!!!! I tired it on and I couldn't sleep for couple of nights after that. It was all I was thinking of and I had to buy this dress. Marilyn helped me so much she was so sweet and understanding and I finally made up my mind and cancelled the first dress.
