Everything performs great on the snow, and the technical advice was spot on. The Bad: The checkout process was frustrating. The cashier seemed uninformed and had to repeatedly check with the fitters regarding basic return and warranty policies, which made the process take much longer than necessary. The Pricing Issue: Be aware of the "fine print" on price matching. Even though they matched my board, they refused to match the price on my boots because I had them heat-molded first. I wish this had been communicated clearly before the molding service was performed, as it ended up costing me the "guaranteed" price match.

He and his manager stated that this cannot be waived and so, I waived them goodbye. I guess I dodged a bullet with the bike which was going to have the lock drilled out and replaced which they constantly told me I would not have to pay for, DUH !!! The experience was icky and I would not recommend this organization for your bike purchase. BTW I was in selling for 15 years and these are the worst tactics I have ever seen.

Backcountry uses DoorDash for "last-mile" delivery in the city, but their security standards are nonexistent. In my case, the driver dropped my package in an unsecure, open area and failed to ring the doorbell or knock. Despite the fact that I worked from home on the day specifically to ensure I was present for deliveries, the package was stolen by a porch pirate before I even saw the notification. When I contacted customer service, they were completely dismissive. They refused to offer a reorder or investigate the delivery failure, essentially stating that their responsibility ends the moment the package touches the ground--regardless of where or how it was left. If you live in an urban area where package theft is a concern, do not trust this company with your money online. Their "completed delivery" policy offers zero protection against negligent couriers. Unless you can buy it in-store and walk out with it, I recommend taking your business to a retailer with more accountable shipping practices.

During COVID you had to make a reservation for boots but we got lucky and they had a cancellation. The boot fitting was excellent and for an hour they tried various boots having my wife stand, etc. to make sure the fit was perfect. We also found a pair of skis on sale that were perfect for her. As a result, I skied nine times this year and my wife has become a fan of skiing. Next time we need boots we will be here again.
