We were greeted at the door, sat right away. They took pictures of us. Everybody was friendly and kind. They had a set menu with drinks with alcohol and a few non-alcoholic. The only food they offered was popcorn. The tables a set up was ok but it was Cutely decorated. This is a pop-up.. I give it a 4 out of 5 .

Rudolph was the perfect night cap!

This was cool. Service was good and attentive. The issue is that it's not really a place to relax and drink because it's so busy and they have so many people waiting (at least after 9pm) so the servers really push drinks because it's almost like if your not gonna drink then you need to give up that valuable real estate. My party and I had never been to a holiday bar so we just wanted to chill and make our way slowly down the list. The server very nicely threw hints, and by the third "anything else" we gave up the table because we wanted a more chill environment. The decorations are cute, drinks were ok, I wouldn't return but it was nice to experience it. Ps. Bathroom is filthy and was out of hand soap. Bring your hand sanitizer just in case!

Gave it a 3 because there was a huge line and after emailing them over a week ago, someone finally responded a week later saying they don't take reservations. We probably waited for over 30 minutes for a table for 7. It would be great if they can take reservations. You can also go in to just stand around the bar area but you will have to remain standing for the rest of the night even if a table becomes open. (At least if there is a line outside) In terms of drinks, alcoholic drinks average around $15 per drink and non-alcoholic ones are around $6. Not bad but definitely don't expect high quality drinks. My double maple old fashion was just mediocre. Definitely did not taste the maple or any sorts of citrus. The harder's butter beer slush was interesting with a hint of butter beer flavor but if you are looking for something that tastes like the Harry Potter butter beer...this is a a more diluted version of that. Not bad though.

Cute popup. Lots of photo options available. Drinks are limited but festive. If shopping pop in and enjoy the decorations.

This place was a fun time! The decorations are really cute and festive. We had a party of 19 and the host was super nice and friendly when accommodating us. Some of the drinks were pretty sweet so beware if the sugar gives you headaches! And they offer shot skis so it's the perfect place to down some shots with your friends. Also our server was nice enough to give me a free second drink after I spilled the first one all over myself lol.

    How gorgeous is this decor!

What a beautiful place for some holiday cheer! Winter wonderland holiday pop up is what you'd image what the North Pole would look like celebrating Christmas with every single nook and cranny is brightly decorated which had to be an incredible task including a virtual fireplace that I love lol! After a long and exhausted holiday season I decided to drag a work friend who has zero personal time and stole that nugget of a window to escape adulting and grab a drink. This Christmas themed happy place brings on the festivities until Dec 30th 2022 from 5pm to 12mid so there's plenty of time still to grab some holiday cheer! You need to scan their QR code to view the menu but I did take some screen shots of it for a quick view they all sound so amazing but a few did capture our attention. - Candy Cane Hot Cocoa Rumchata Peppermint Bark and Hot Cocoa topped with Mini Marshmallows and Candy Cane - Rudolph Rum & Coffee Liqueur, Vodka and Cream Topped with Whipped Cream and Sprinkles My bestie is a Vodka lover and went straight for Rudolph and was already attached to him on the very first sip! I started with the Hot Cocoa and it was so comforting yummmmm filled with marshmallows it was just the right amount of it all and by the time I was done the candy cane completely melted in the drink lol! I then moved on to "FA-LA-LA-LA-LA,LA-LA-LA-LA" Jameson Lemon, Honey, Ginger Ale...doesn't it sound more like an elixir than a cocktail lol! It didn't scream, looked or taste like the holiday but it was pretty good. I didn't mind the plastic cups and loved the festive straws though wished the bougie up the drinks a bit more to bring on the vibe besides the decor. There's nothing to eat here but a bag of nuts for $5 and there's quite a bit in there which was great but meh! It's all on a first come basis no reservations but bravo for creating an environment that's filled to brighten our holidays with sparkles and joy and we left giggling and a blurry picture of the fireplace as I walked out the wrong door hahaha I'm such a weak sauce! Thank you!

**Tables and seating at this pop up** Pretty cool seeing the former Shokudo space transformed into a Christmas wonderland. Checked it out on a Sunday night so no line, no wait, and we were immediately seated. . Pro tip - only snack options available are $5 nuts so don't bank on intaking anything but fluids here lol. . For the gram - the entire aesthetic is picture worthy! However, filming a ski shot with your friends is always fun. . Tipsy fav - Red Elf & Candy Cane Hot Cocoa. . Awesome service from our server. He was attentive, helpful, and made all our special requests happen. Thank you! . cheers (:

Cute pop-up located in the former Shokudo. Parking is at the mall as they don't validate in their building. I had the hot cocoa and it tasted like hot cocoa. Little alcohol, therefore pretty pricey for Swiss miss but a neat place to get together with friends and definitely decorated well. A drawback is no food other than bar nuts you pay for. A smaller version of Shokudo is next door.

Came here for the last night of Winter Wonderland. Wasn't as busy as the other days. I got my usual The Elf, which is like a soju mix with cranberry juice. It was really good. Then my husband got the hot cocoa. We can with a party of 8+, so we had to wait about 10 mins in line to get seated. Not too bad the wait because it goes by super fast the time. When we got seated, it took a while to order our drinks. Our waiter didn't really come visit or check in on us as much, so we all just stuck to one drink. If he came more often, then we would've stayed longer. Anyway, I can't wait for next years themed bars!

To kickstart the holiday season, my boyfriend and I came to Winter Wonderland to have a few drinks and get into the holiday spirit. The bar is located between Happy Wahine and the bathrooms on the third floor of Ala Moana. My boyfriend and I came a little after 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday, had our vaccination cards checked, and were seated immediately. We lucked out coming in right when they opened. The worker told us it tends to get busy after 7:00 p.m., and the wait can be over an hour. After being seated, we scanned the QR code on the table for the menu. The menu offered a variety of Christmas-themed cocktails and drinks. To drink, I ordered the Naughty or Spice which consisted of tequila, Rumchata, Cream, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg. My drink was dosed in cinnamon, and I mostly tasted the Rumchata. My boyfriend ordered the Maple Old Fashion. He enjoyed it and said he could taste the whiskey in it. Although our drinks were good, we found the size extremely small, especially for the price we paid. Overall, you pay for the experience and ambiance at Winder Wonderland. Service is fast and friendly. It's a beautifully decorated pop-up bar that will be open until the end of the year. Be sure to come early and before Christmas to beat the crowds!

Another trendy, TT, IG worthy spot down for 2021. This was the 2nd time I've been to a Christmas themed bar and this one by far exceeded all expectations! The decor, the drinks, the staff and their holiday wear & spirits all lived up to the hype. The doors opened at 5pm so we created the queue at 4:45pm sharp! First ones in and we were ready to get lit lol. The amazing bartenders wasted no time at all and our drinks were being served with quickness. Thats all I need! The icing on top would've been if they had some pupus or something... but I'm sure the 90m time limit might be hard to squeeze in cook/prep time for foods. I can't quite remember if I was allowed to double fist but I alway ask anyway. I do know at one point we did have the Mason jar shots and our previous drinks to chase, thank gawd. All the drinks we had just got better and better. Frozen butterbeer and rudolph were my favorites. Holiday hot cocoa was a nice warming comfort drink and the rest weren't that memorable but still did the job. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like walking around for more pics but the place was festive af. I only have awesome things to say about our experience and really looking forward to hana hou again next year! Please do not disappoint and bring it back.

After visiting one Christmas bar, you can't help but go to another one. And in this case, that is what my friend and I decided to do. We decided to head to this place on a Saturday night and arrived a little over 9:45 pm to find a line out the door. Determined to get into this bar, we decided to wait in line which moved fairly quickly. While waiting, I did notice that they were seating people right next to another party at some sections of the bar. Prior to going in, we had to provide our proof of vaccination and ID. We had a party of three (3) and our friend was currently on the way. TIP: everyone in your party will need to be present in order to go in. In this case, we dodged the bullet of sitting close next to another party and was able to sit in a booth. Once we got in, the bartender was super friendly and was willing to help us in making a decision of what holly jolly drink to select. Unfortunately we were informed that their butterbeer was sold out early that day so my friends opted for the candy cane hot cocoa, while I opted for the rudolph. The drinks were super cute and festive!!! The rudolph consisted of rum and coffee liqueur, vodka, and whipped cream topped with red and green sprinkles. It was super cute and tasted great. You do taste the alcohol but it wasn't overpowering. I also then opted for the candy cane hot cocoa which was a hot drink with some rumchata peppermint bark topped with marshmallows and a candy cane. This did not disappoint! This drink had a nice rich cocoa flavor and you could not taste the alcohol at all. Overall this place and service is great. From the moment we waited in line, to the bartender serving us, they were extremely nice and super friendly which made us feel very welcomed. The layout is extremely festive (1400+ ornaments hung with care!) and you can't help but feel the spirit of the Holiday Season in this pop up bar. Their last day of service will be on 12/30/2021 so check this place out while you still can!

    Eggnog
    Vivian L.

My friends and I tried Winter Wonderland after dinner. This was actually our second choice since the Christmas Bar at Tiki Grill has a 90 minute wait time and they closed at 11:00pm. The parking at Winter Wonderland is more convenient since we parked at Ala Moana and walked over. The line wasn't long and there were tables and chairs for us to sit. Winter Wonderland is located at the old Shokudo location. We had 7 people in our party and we waited in line for just 10 minutes. They had holiday theme alcoholic drinks and all of them sounds festive and delicious. I ordered the Eggnog drink which was iced. It came with whipped cream on top and the drink came out unmixed. The eggnog was on the bottom and the rum was on top. We had to mixed it before we drink and I personally like the eggnog and creamy taste. It wasn't strong in my opinion but that's totally fine. My friends ordered the Butterbeer, Hot Chocolate, and Naughty and Spice. They all enjoyed it except for the Naughty and Spice. My friend opinion on the drink was that it tasted like cough syrup with a hint cinnamon. It was a great place for a late night out during the holiday season. The decoration was very festive and good for pictures. You can also bring outside foods to eat along with the drinks you ordered. The service do rush you constantly since there is still a line outside.

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

That's a shame because it has the potential to be very good. When you start with a cocktail concept that is deliberately kept low key with no signage, and a drink menu that rotates and evolves, you have a pretty good floor to start. Having a cozy place to settle in and being able to enjoy food from Chris Kajioka should give 430 Pkwy a high ceiling. If you like an espresso martini try something a little different. Their Espressing My Love batches espresso with Averna, black walnut bitters, and a unique monkeypod syrup. Unfortunately, there is no espresso machine so you cannot get fresh drawn espresso to make a Carajillo the way Cafe Miro use to. The ahi brioche is a carry over from all Chris Kajioka places. The grilled cheese is excellent. Hotdogs are kicked up - it used to be a black truffled miso chicken sausage but the current one is a little different. The problem is the food preparation totally undermines the whole place. Without a separate kitchen you have frying being done just a few feet away from where cocktails are made. If you sit on the right side of the bar you will quickly understand why this doesn't work. I would come here more frequently if i didn't have to smell like cooking oil afterwards. Fix that problem and this place would rock.

Apparently you're normally supposed to put a coin in to open the secret door, but it's broken right now, so the whole vending machine just swings right open. Slightly less secret, but still very cool. Inside is where this place really shines. Moody lighting, a giant orange tree in the middle of the room, Japanese hip hop playing in the background (I want to steal this entire playlist), and extremely cool and friendly servers and bartenders. I've been to a few other attempted "speakeasies" in Honolulu, but most are basically just dark bars with a fun door or code word. Wild Orange actually has the VIBES to make the whole concept work. Definitely worth coming just to hang out and chill. They have a full bar and an extensive specialty cocktail menu. Tried the Purple Dragon, made with ube liqueur and coconut cream. Very sweet--a little TOO sweet for my taste--but tasty and pretty. Probably should have listened to the menu and kept it as a shot, but I wanted something I could sip on for a while and chill. The Umeshu Highball was also very pretty and tasty. My friend who works as a sake distributor was impressed with their selection of good sake, so of course we had to order a bottle. Our server brought it out in an ice bucket, kept it off to the side, and completely served it for us throughout. Very classy. The food menu is fun and creative, but unfortunately not really for me because it's entirely vegan. Most times, but ESPECIALLY when I'm drinking, I want MEAT. Tried the Wild Musubi, a vegan Spam musubi. I'm not actually sure what the "meat" was. Possibly fried tofu? Whatever it was, it was definitely a passable alternative, but would have been 100x better if it were just plain old Spam. It also falls victim to what I find is a common problem with vegan attempts at Japanese food: anything teriyaki ends up being way too treacly sweet without actual meat or seafood to ground it in reality. Also tried the Char Siu Tofu Bao, fried tofu in a red Chinese-style char siu sauce on fluffy white buns. Again, fun and certainly not bad, but these would be 1000x better with actual pork. If Wild Orange had this exact same creative food menu but carnivore edition, this place would probably be 7/5 stars for me. That being said, I know being vegan will actually be a huge draw for some people, and I appreciate that the food is creative rather than just the usual sad vegan afterthoughts. Parking is pretty easy by Honolulu standards. It's inside Hawaiian Brian's, so there's a large shared parking lot. That being said, you might still have trouble finding a spot during peak gym hours since you're competing with all the 24 Hour Fitness customers. All in all, I LOVE this place. Definitely a fun stop--first, middle, only, or nightcap--on a chill night out. Will absolutely be adding Wild Orange into the rotation of places to bring out-of-town guests when I want to impress them with something cool and different. The vegan menu probably means it'll be a couple-times-a-year place for me rather than a regular haunt. But for drinks, service, atmosphere, and pure VIBES? 20/10.

What we thought was a pawn shop turned out to be... a speakeasy?!…read more What a lovely surprise. A gem of a find! I will never forget this experience. I was just skipping around town exploring wanting to check-in to as many places as I could like the responsible Yelp elite that I am and then I find this amazing hole on the wall speakeasy. The lovely gentleman in the front welcomed us in to take a look around and I asked him if I could take photos for yelp and he told me that if I was going to write a review, I had to join them. So of course, I took the invite and decided to stay for a little while. We sat at a nice area. A perfect little place. I just want to take a snapshot and keep it in my memory so I can emulate it and turn it into my home study. I could stay here forever. The vibes were on point. The server recommended drinks that he thought we would like, and we loved both of them. I don't remember what the drinks were called, but mine had a blueberry taste to it, and my friend had a mock tail, but some sort of Yuzu to it. We also shared a $15 charcuterie graze. 10 out of 10 would recommend being curious and opening doors to finding out that there's a speakeasy randomly in an area you never thought would be there. What an amazing experience.

What surprised me most was how good the food was for the price. Usually spots with this kind of atmosphere rely on the drinks to carry the experience, but every dish actually delivered. The chicken karaage was crispy and packed with flavor, the beef takoyaki disappeared almost instantly, and the taro chips with mascarpone were such a unique combination. Between the cocktails, food, service, and atmosphere, everything just worked.
