Another Christmas, another holiday themed pop-up bar. The same guys who brought us Alpha Video and the Halloween bar (for better or for worse) are back at it again with a Christmas themed bar. They're very good at decorating and themes, but less so at actually being a respectable bar. So if you're going for the décor, this place is great as it's decorated to the nines, super festive, and absolutely great from that aspect. Instagram influencers will be all over this place. If you're going for the booze, less so. My partner and I got holiday nogs, which was mostly ice, some eggnog, and a okay amount of booze for $15. Relatively smooth drinking, but I can also make a healthier, tastier, way more boozy version without all the ice for a tiny fraction of the price. Yes, I know going out to drink is expensive, but not exactly impressed here with the alcohol. I do have to note there is more seating than at their other themed bar, which is nice and being in the mall in the now shuttered Surfer's Bakery on the ground level of Ala Moana, parking isn't an issue, even during Christmas. Staff are polite, efficient. Oh, they don't have tap water and will charge you $2 for bottled water. You can make reservations for larger groups. 3.5 stars. read more

This place is so cute. It's so conveniently located at Ala Moana too. It's downstairs near Meet Fresh. The decor is amazing and so festive! The drinks were really good also. This was cool. Service was good and attentive. The issue is that it's not really a place to relax and drink because it's so busy and they have so many people waiting (at least after 9pm) so the servers really push drinks because it's almost like if your not gonna drink then you need to give up that valuable real estate. My party and I had never been to a holiday bar so we just wanted to chill and make our way slowly down the list. The server very nicely threw hints, and by the third "anything else" we gave up the table because we wanted a more chill environment. The decorations are cute, drinks were ok, I wouldn't return but it was nice to experience it. Ps. Bathroom is filthy and was out of hand soap. Bring your hand sanitizer just in case! read more

Gave it a 3 because there was a huge line and after emailing them over a week ago, someone finally responded a week later saying they don't take reservations. We probably waited for over 30 minutes for a table for 7. It would be great if they can take reservations. You can also go in to just stand around the bar area but you will have to remain standing for the rest of the night even if a table becomes open. (At least if there is a line outside) In terms of drinks, alcoholic drinks average around $15 per drink and non-alcoholic ones are around $6. Not bad but definitely don't expect high quality drinks. My double maple old fashion was just mediocre. Definitely did not taste the maple or any sorts of citrus. The harder's butter beer slush was interesting with a hint of butter beer flavor but if you are looking for something that tastes like the Harry Potter butter beer...this is a a more diluted version of that. This place was a fun time! The decorations are really cute and festive. We had a party of 19 and the host was super nice and friendly when accommodating us. Some of the drinks were pretty sweet so beware if the sugar gives you headaches! And they offer shot skis so it's the perfect place to down some shots with your friends. I then moved on to "FA-LA-LA-LA-LA,LA-LA-LA-LA" Jameson Lemon, Honey, Ginger Ale...doesn't it sound more like an elixir than a cocktail lol! It didn't scream, looked or taste like the holiday but it was pretty good. Came here for the last night of Winter Wonderland. Wasn't as busy as the other days. I got my usual The Elf, which is like a soju mix with cranberry juice. It was really good. Then my husband got the hot cocoa. We can with a party of 8+, so we had to wait about 10 mins in line to get seated. Not too bad the wait because it goes by super fast the time. When we got seated, it took a while to order our drinks. Our waiter didn't really come visit or check in on us as much, so we all just stuck to one drink. To kickstart the holiday season, my boyfriend and I came to Winter Wonderland to have a few drinks and get into the holiday spirit. The bar is located between Happy Wahine and the bathrooms on the third floor of Ala Moana. My boyfriend and I came a little after 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday, had our vaccination cards checked, and were seated immediately. We lucked out coming in right when they opened. The worker told us it tends to get busy after 7:00 p.m., and the wait can be over an hour. After being seated, we scanned the QR code on the table for the menu. The menu offered a variety of Christmas-themed cocktails and drinks. To drink, I ordered the Naughty or Spice which consisted of tequila, Rumchata, Cream, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg. My drink was dosed in cinnamon, and I mostly tasted the Rumchata. My boyfriend ordered the Maple Old Fashion. He enjoyed it and said he could taste the whiskey in it. Although our drinks were good, we found the size extremely small, especially for the price we paid. Overall, you pay for the experience and ambiance at Winder Wonderland. Service is fast and friendly. It's a beautifully decorated pop-up bar that will be open until the end of the year. Be sure to come early and before Christmas to beat the crowds! read more

Another trendy, TT, IG worthy spot down for 2021. This was the 2nd time I've been to a Christmas themed bar and this one by far exceeded all expectations! The decor, the drinks, the staff and their holiday wear & spirits all lived up to the hype. The doors opened at 5pm so we created the queue at 4:45pm sharp! First ones in and we were ready to get lit lol. The amazing bartenders wasted no time at all and our drinks were being served with quickness. Thats all I need! The icing on top would've been if they had some pupus or something... but I'm sure the 90m time limit might be hard to squeeze in cook/prep time for foods. I can't quite remember if I was allowed to double fist but I alway ask anyway. I do know at one point we did have the Mason jar shots and our previous drinks to chase, thank gawd. All the drinks we had just got better and better. Frozen butterbeer and rudolph were my favorites. Holiday hot cocoa was a nice warming comfort drink and the rest weren't that memorable but still did the job. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like walking around for more pics but the place was festive af. After visiting one Christmas bar, you can't help but go to another one. And in this case, that is what my friend and I decided to do. We decided to head to this place on a Saturday night and arrived a little over 9:45 pm to find a line out the door. Determined to get into this bar, we decided to wait in line which moved fairly quickly. While waiting, I did notice that they were seating people right next to another party at some sections of the bar. Prior to going in, we had to provide our proof of vaccination and ID. We had a party of three (3) and our friend was currently on the way. TIP: everyone in your party will need to be present in order to go in. In this case, we dodged the bullet of sitting close next to another party and was able to sit in a booth. Once we got in, the bartender was super friendly and was willing to help us in making a decision of what holly jolly drink to select. Unfortunately we were informed that their butterbeer was sold out early that day so my friends opted for the candy cane hot cocoa, while I opted for the rudolph. The drinks were super cute and festive!!! The rudolph consisted of rum and coffee liqueur, vodka, and whipped cream topped with red and green sprinkles. It was super cute and tasted great. You do taste the alcohol but it wasn't overpowering. I also then opted for the candy cane hot cocoa which was a hot drink with some rumchata peppermint bark topped with marshmallows and a candy cane. This did not disappoint! This drink had a nice rich cocoa flavor and you could not taste the alcohol at all. Overall this place and service is great. From the moment we waited in line, to the bartender serving us, they were extremely nice and super friendly which made us feel very welcomed. The layout is extremely festive (1400+ ornaments hung with care!) and you can't help but feel the spirit of the Holiday Season in this pop up bar. Their last day of service will be on 12/30/2021 so check this place out while you still can! read more

My friends and I tried Winter Wonderland after dinner. This was actually our second choice since the Christmas Bar at Tiki Grill has a 90 minute wait time and they closed at 11:00pm. The parking at Winter Wonderland is more convenient since we parked at Ala Moana and walked over. The line wasn't long and there were tables and chairs for us to sit. Winter Wonderland is located at the old Shokudo location. We had 7 people in our party and we waited in line for just 10 minutes. They had holiday theme alcoholic drinks and all of them sounds festive and delicious. I ordered the Eggnog drink which was iced. It came with whipped cream on top and the drink came out unmixed. The eggnog was on the bottom and the rum was on top. We had to mixed it before we drink and I personally like the eggnog and creamy taste. It wasn't strong in my opinion but that's totally fine. My friends ordered the Butterbeer, Hot Chocolate, and Naughty and Spice. They all enjoyed it except for the Naughty and Spice. My friend opinion on the drink was that it tasted like cough syrup with a hint cinnamon. It was a great place for a late night out during the holiday season. The decoration was very festive and good for pictures. You can also bring outside foods to eat along with the drinks you ordered. The service do rush you constantly since there is still a line outside. read more

This is the same Christmas bar that was in Ala Moana last year (or maybe the year before? The years start blending together in my old age...). It was good before and it's good now. This Christmas bar is in the large space that Shokudo used to be in. Shokudo has moved to the smaller space next door that Angelo Pietro used to be in. The place is decked out in Christmas decor. It's like a mix of all the Christmas things you can find at Ross, plus a lot of the wrapping and Christmas tree decor from longs. They even have Christmas movies playing on the TV inside. The waiters are a bunch of guys dressed in holiday flannel. They're very nice and it's not awkward or pushy. The drinks are what you'd expect from a place like this. Holiday themed, expensive, but pretty tasty and strong. These aren't drinks I'd want to get every night, but they're fun once a year haha. Now I just have to try the Christmas bars at Tikis Waikiki and at the Prince to compare. read more

COVID EDITION What a cute spot! We love this pop up bar. The drinks were good and the service was great! We were there at opening on a Monday. There weren't many people waiting but we got our vaccine cards checked outside and were say in one of the small booths. I loved the booths- even if our little human wanted to kick the table and try spill our drinks. The table is probably my only critique of the bar as it was really just a small folding table. Anyway, the drinks were great. We had the Christmas Apple, Frozen Butterbeer, Frozen Pumpkin Spice, and the Maple Old Fashion. All of them were so good! Our server was also so sweet and attentive. She even gave our kid a candy cane- with our permission of course. Oh another tip, it is on the same level of the mall that has the bridge to the parking lot! It's so unfortunate this place has so much potential but the service is like they never do rounds of checking on people it's the same they treat people at the Halloween bar and alpha video. An hour later I had to go up and pay my bill. They never even came back to tell me popcorn wasn't available. They only have one snack on the menu and at opening on a Saturday night they night they don't have any? Apart from the large wreaths on the one wall that were beautiful, the decor was cheap with hung Christmas cards on a string, outlines of trees on one wall, and plastic cups to drink out of. Apart from $5 popcorn, they did not serve food. Drinks ranged from $6 to $15. I will not be returning. I accidentally stumbled upon this place in the morning when I was doing some Christmas shopping at the mall. I had just gone to the one in Waikiki the night before, so I thought why not try this one and compare. So that's what I did. I came with my boyfriend around 6pm on a Saturday night and luck was on our side yet again as there was no wait. When we left around 6:45, there was a line of people waiting to check-in so come as early as you can. I believe they open at 5pm. I would say this is a little classier than the one in Waikiki. Not as many decorations, but still really pretty! We got seated at the bar and they really pack you in. That's probably my main problem with this place. I'm not worried about COVID or anything, but it's just super uncomfortable! You really have no space around you. Luckily, we weren't sandwiched for the entire time as the party next to me left and no one sat until we were pretty much done. We got the frozen pumpkin spice and frozen butterbeer. I really liked the pumpkin spice drink, but the butterbeer was alright. It was lacking that butterscotch flavor. I will say the service was great! The bartender added more whipped cream when he saw me taking pictures of the drinks. As for food, I think they had some stuff, but I saw a couple bring in food and they didn't say anything so it looks like you can bring in your own food! Another pro to this place is the parking! Just park on the 4th floor (parking lot near Shabuya, Longs, Jamba) and walk right across the bridge. Super easy. If you don't wanna deal with Waikiki, come here instead! Tried this place out located on the top level of Ala Moana center next to Zara/Tmobile. It's a cute spot decked out in Holiday decoration to get into the spirit of Christmas and of course the drinks. It's a cute little spot, but I really didn't get to enjoy it well. It was just me and my girlfriend and we got seated pretty fast when we arrived. However, the seating was super tight and awkward as we were placed in between two different parties on the bar seating area. I literally had to put my left arm around my girlfriend the whole time to avoid elbowing the person on the right of me. We were pretty packed in and there wasn't enough space for us to move our body freely (the fact that the other parties barely moved over for us didn't help as well). It took more than 5 mins for the bartenders to acknowledge us since we sat down. We already looked over the menu and made a decision but were kept waiting. I know they were busy but two bartenders passed us twice with not even a "we'll be right with you". But I didn't want to be the Grinch so I let it slide. We ended up only trying two drinks The Hot Peppermint Cocoa and the Frozen Butter Beer. The Frozen Butter Beer was a bit strong I could taste the Jamieson in it. I could barely taste the butter/cream soda, it tasted like an over powered Jamieson and Coke to be honest. The Hot Peppermint Cocoa was the best out of the two. It was subtle and sweet and it had the right amount of alcohol in it. We didn't stay too long as it was crowded, tight, and the body heat started to settle in. A temp pop up place in Ala Moana shopping center near the 3rd floor restrooms above Jamba Juice. We arrived around 6pm and waited for about 2 mins. It was pretty packed but since it was just me and my husband we got in pretty quickly. We were very surprised that this place did not do social distancing and everyone sat next to one another with no mask and talking while their drinks were on the table. It is a small spot and felt very tight with lots of ppl. We didnt feel comfortable and tanked our butter beers (which was nothing near Harry Potter world; worst imitation) Overall, you pay for the experience and ambiance at Winder Wonderland. So in love with this place . Wish it was year around. Definitely worth the wait. My favorite was their Candy Cane Hot Cocoa made with peppermint RumChata, small marshmallows, and a candy cane hanging off the side of the cup. Also their Butter beer and Reindeer drinks were so delicious taste just like Christmas if Christmas had a taste. Even regular shots were a treat served in the tiniest chilled mason jars. 10/10 recommend this place after my experience at The Christmas Bar in Waikiki this year (2021). My sister and I came at about 6pm and only waited in line for about 5 minutes. We were serviced instantly by the waitress behind the bar and we both ordered two drinks. We liked everything we tried and felt tipsy too!
