He was intentionally trying to find ways to save me money on labor, which made me trust him. The company and Brian exhibit good character and integrity. This is now my go to company and Electrcian. Finding a reliable tradesman/company isn't always easy, and I'm thrilled to have found one.

When Brandon from Young Electric showed up, the problem stopped and the lights were working perfectly. But instead of just charging us and leaving, Brandon did a general inspection of our wiring and gave us some advice that was hugely helpful! He also said that if our lights give us trouble again, he would be happy to check again as a follow-up to our existing appointment. Later, we called Young Electric to upgrade the old plugs in our attic bedrooms to modern, 3-prong plugs. Since our house was old and we didn't want to rip all the walls open, Lalo the electrician offered to run a new circuit up to the attic through an outside conduit. But he also told us that we could just install GFCI plugs in our bedroom outlets instead of rewiring everything and it would be just as safe and up to code. In the end we agreed to the GFCI upgrade as it was a lot cheaper and required a lot less work. They did a great job and even cleaned up the mess after. All in all, very professional and helpful.

I had to cancel the appt two weeks in advance, before any work was performed, and I was told I would receive a full refund. What followed was weeks of unanswered emails, repeated follow-ups, and multiple promises that the refund would be processed "soon" or by a certain date. After filing a dispute with my credit card company, I decided to give them one more opportunity to resolve the issue directly. I called and was told the appropriate person was in a meeting and would return my call. Believing the matter was finally being handled, I canceled the dispute. Unfortunately no call ever came. After calling back again and continuing to get nowhere, I had to reopen the dispute. It has now been over 4 1/2 weeks, and they still have not reimbursed my down payment despite no work being performed and no materials being provided. Extremely poor communication and follow-through. It is unfortunate that keeping a customer's money appears to have mattered more than protecting the company's reputation.

Electric Norm had great reviews and seemed to be a local, one-man operation. An eager fellow working hard to run a local business... just the sort of firm I prefer to give my business to. No idea what the history on this operation is but I gather there is no Norm just like there is no Sara Lee or Oil Can Henry. Not a huge deal but... I used the yelp "get a quote" feature which has served me well in the past and sent "Norm" a detailed description of what needed to be done. Basically a simple 15' run of two GFI circuits terminating in a couple of quad receptacle boxes. Probably a couple of hours work at most. Phil, who is apparently the owner responds telling me to call him. Sigh.... if I wanted to call I would have not taken the time to type out such a detailed scope of work message. That and I am hearing disabled and don't have a phone. I inform Phil thusly and am given a list of his requirements to come out which includes providing a mobile phone number to text. I'm wondering what part of "hearing disabled, no phone" went over Phil's head. So minus stars for lack of basic intelligence and reading comprehension skills. I called two different contractors, Parkin Electric being one of the two, did not have any availability for a week or so which wasn't an issue at all. When Mike came out, he was friendly, truly listened to my goals by providing me ways to save money and told me what he commonly save with our EV owners. The official quote did take a little over a week to receive, something they were very transparent about but what helped was that Mike gave me a verbal estimate which was already half the price of the competition so I was willing to wait. Scheduling: After signing the contract, Tonya reached out the very next day and told me they had an availability in a few days that sadly didn't work for me. We ended up scheduling it a few weeks out but noted that if something came up earlier, that I would be notified which ended up being the case. Installation: My installation arrival window was between 8am to 9am with the job itself taking about 2 hours. What I really appreciated was that I had asked for a call before the technician came over which they did and was perfectly within the arrival window!
