Took my iPhone with some water droplets in the camera to get cleaned and dried out here. They gave me back a bricked iPhone 12. They clearly cracked my screen while trying to remove the screen or something. My phone is returned to me with a huge crack and half the screen not showing (It was working fine before the cleaning). They ended up not charging me the $40 for the cleaning..... hmm I wonder why.. maybe because they knew they messed up my screen and they told me the residual water damage from the screen 'conked' out my lcd screen. WHATEVER THE HELL THAT MEANS. Stay away from these unprofessional amateurs who clearly have no f*cking clue how to handle an iPhone device. The two gentlemen that helped me out are great. I got my Galaxy S9+ screen replaced with the SquareTrade plan and it couldn't have been easier. They have appointment scheduling online, are timely and responsive, thorough, and very hospitable. While I waited for approx 45 minutes, they put me up in a cafe waiting area with wifi. They also walked me through the whole process and the parts that they were changing out and waited for me to test out my phone when they were done. Danny is amazing! My iPhone 7 stopped charging properly and the Ungeniuses at the Apple Store Genius Bar told me I needed to buy a new iPhone. That was the same thing they were telling everyone around me about their broken phones. I decided to go to a small repair shop near my house but they were unable to fix it telling me the problem was an IC chip issue. So I found NYC Mobile Device Doctors online and booked an appointment at the MetLife Building location. Danny was reassuring saying he was pretty sure he could fix the problem. Two hours later I had a working iPhone. Danny also showed me that my old battery was bulging and was only 65% efficient, which I already knew from running a diagnostic, so he replaced the battery for WAY less than Apple would have charged. Posting my review here again: I thought this was going to be my go-to phone repair place, but I guess not. There are plenty of places that are cheaper, but I came here again after breaking the LCD screen on my phone because the first time they did a great job. I trusted that they would do a great job again. Four days after it got repaired, this black liquid started spreading throughout the screen from just regular use. I bought a new case and switched it out to a new case, which is the only reason that I could think that this would happen. Did not fall, break the screen, nothing is cracked, or anything else. Switching to a new case should not be enough to cause the LCD crystals to melt and spread. The guy argued that because it was damaged outside of the repair shop, they will have to charge full price again to redo the repair. Well, if the replacement LCD screen wasn't a shitty, defective one to begin with, it should have withstood me just switching out the case. They obviously didn't stress test it enough to check if the replacement was defective. The price increased from $209 from last time to $239 (with an added $10 because apparently s6 gold screens are hard to find). Plus tax and a credit card surcharge, I wasted $262.39 on a defective screen and a shitty phone repair job. You can see the attached picture of what my phone looks like now. Found this place through Yelp and got a quote within 10 minutes. Out of 4 places I checked out, this place had the best price. I was quoted at 10am in the morning and they scheduled me in at 1pm later that day. It was the easiest and smoothest process ever; I dropped off my iPad and was able to pick it up no more than 2 hours later. Danny helped me out and did a phenomenal job fixing my cracked screen. Excellent job, fast service. My young son dropped my two week old LG G3 smartphone and smashed the screen. Screen was inoperative and I was terribly aggravated, especially since I was leaving for Florida the next day and had no spare phone. I called and they quoted me a price of $129 for fixing everything with 90 day warranty. I went to their office above Grand Central, and while I sat and watched, they fixed the phone in 10 minutes. Brand new screen glass and digitizer. Phone looks and works like new, I am very pleased with them. The technician is competent and fast, knows his stuff. I spent another 10 minutes in their office checking the functions of my phone, all was well. I'm usually pretty good at repairing electronics (or so I was 20 years ago). So when I told my wife I was going to fix her Samsung Note 4 I was pretty confident I could do it, even though she didn't quite share the same confidence. Sure enough, as I started to follow the YouTube instructions to fix her phone I heard a crrrraaack, and immediately got a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. I'd basically made a bad situation much worse. And on Valentine's Day eve. I went to a few places but they didn't have the right screen in stock--most were on order, and even if they could get it they were charging extra because this part is so hard to find now. When I asked these guys if they had the screen and digitizer in stock, they said of course they did. They clearly specialize in Samsung phones. I'm typing this review as I sit watching the technician replacing the screen. While other shops tell you they'll do it in an hour, these guys can do it in 20 minutes, while you wait. The review would have been 5-stars but for a small thing--while I was getting the expensive repair done I asked if they could also take care of another little thing (which would have taken about two minutes and little effort). To his credit, they tried to waive the fee for this but his management wouldn't let them. I also wasn't crazy about the nickel-and-diming when using credit cards ($4 surcharge for repairs under $100, $5 surcharge for repairs over $100). When I talked to another phone repair shop these were things they didn't charge for, which is why I need to dock one star. Still, if you're in a pinch like me, these guys are professional, specialize in Samsung, and have great service to boot. I definitely recommend them. read more

I requested a quote to replace the cracked screen on my iPhone XS, prior to coming to this location. The service was fast but the information I received in my quote was conflicting. It turns out they have an option for "original quality" or a generic, which comes with a blue screen. When I received my quote the owner advised that the cost would be $169, to fix the screen without any mention that I have been quoted the price for the "generic screen". I was surprised to learn that the original quality screen cost more. It's actually $209 plus tax, so I spent $224. I obviously picked the original screen option, because who wants a blue screen? I do feel this business let me down with the surcharge. It's very unkind and unprofessional to offer multiple options at the store level and not give customers that information on your quote. So before you go... ask what is the cost for the original quality screen?! I did get to air my grievances to the owner and received a response that they'll be offering both options online within 30 days. read more

Highly recommended!!! Convenient mid-town Met Life Building location. Great communication (via their website and via phone). One of our Galaxy S6's was loosing it's charge very fast, barely recharging before it started to die, and the phone was almost too hot to handle. I was shocked at how quickly their service was to replace a cracked screen on my iPhone 6s. Had I written this review right away, it would have been 5 stars. Unfortunately, not even 2 days later, I have a hairline crack in the screen for no reason. It hasn't been dropped or treated in any way that would cause a quality screen to crack. My conclusion is that poor quality material was used. It's a shame. I could have paid a little more to have it replaced at Apple and received a much higher quality screen. Buyer beware! UPDATE: I see that the business owner has replied saying, "I'm sorry you broke your screen again..." I'm sorry that I gave you $85 to replace my screen with a poor quality one. Glass doesn't just break with normal use of the device. It just doesn't. The fact that I now have a hairline crack after only two days isn't due to my "breaking the screen", it's either due to poor execution of the replacement or poor quality glass. read more

UPDATE: In response to the store's response to my review, I decided to up my rating from 3 to 4 stars. Thanks! I had dropped my iphone 7+ and needed the screen repaired. I messaged NYC Mobile Device Doctor, and received a quote of $99. When I arrived they were very polite, and explained how there are 3 screens I could get. 1. Generic ($119) -will have noticeable blue tint 2. -Other Generic- ($139) -will have slightly less noticeable blue tint 3. -the best one- ($159) -will NOT have any tints and will work just as the original screen had Lo and behold... all of these prices are far below the quote. I purchased #3 as I wanted an original screen, and everything seems to be working well; however, the home button is not evenly lined up with the height of the screen, so there is some roughness/sharpness around the button on the right side. This is a good place to go if you only have 20 minutes... but if you have the time to go somewhere else, I would do so. I ended up paying $176, almost twice as much as I walked in expecting. Summary: -expect to pay between 150-200 dollars -good if you need your phone fixed soon and in decent time My advice for customers: -do your research and find an accurate quote, this place is much more expensive than need be My advice for the store: -give more accurate quotes, once I arrived and heard it was going to be much more than I expected, I wasn't going to leave as I needed to get my phone fixed, and I had went out of my way to come to this store. Went there last week to get my screen replaced...3 days later it's cracked for no reason with a strong screen protector on it. Screen protector isn't cracked but the phone itself is. Asked them to replace my screen again since it was less than a week and they wanted to charge me over $100 to do it. Obviously the quality of the screen is poor and so is there customer service. I wanted so bad to leave a glowing review. My experience started off great. It was a little hard for me to find, but once I did, Abraham (if I'm remembering correctly) was very friendly, he even remembered me from when we spoke on the phone the day before. He explained everything to me, gave me my receipt and told me he would call/text when I could pick up my phone-- around 5 the next day (my phone was a little more involved to fix). The pickup is where things went downhill. By 4 I didn't receive any call or text for the 5:00 pickup so I decided to call them. When I went to pickup my phone there was a different man there who was already dealing with a customer. He handed over the phone to me without asking for any kind of proof/receipt that it was mine. He then says the following... "$79...oh wait...$90". The 'oh wait' part being him doing some math on his tablet for the tax which was apparently forgotten about until that moment. What if I only brought enough for the original price? I had neither the patience or time to debate it as I needed to get back to work. Basically what I experienced was bait and switch. I assumed the price was what was on the receipt. When I go anywhere else the tax is included on the receipt. But what could I do, I needed the phone. The plus side out of all of this is that the phone is repaired and it works perfectly, so two stars for that. read more

Tried convince me that a faulty screen they installed (battery was draining too quickly) was due to a bad "battery chip". Took it to Apple and they correctly identified it as a faulty proximity sensor. FYI They change the same amount as Apple does for a screen repair. Since only Apple has authentic parts, you are better off going to an Apple Store to fix your screen. Be warned, I have seen other low quality reviews on here only for them to be taken down. Was in and out in 10 minutes. iphone 5s repaired for about 80 bucks with the yelp deal. I don't think you can find a cheaper price than that for a cracked screen replacement.
