The Wisconsin Brew Pub at Kalahari Resort is a super convenient option if you're staying at the resort. Honestly, the best thing about this restaurant is the location--you can easily head downstairs and grab supper without having to leave the resort or get back in the car. The service was fine, our waiter was friendly. I did wish there was some windows, it was dark and closed in. The food was pretty average and what you'd expect from a typical bar and grill. Nothing particularly stood out as amazing or unique, but everything was good and hit the spot. If convenience is your priority, it's a solid option while staying at Kalahari! read more

Stopped in Wisconsin Brew Pub for a beer and some snacks while we were enjoying a day at Kalahari. It was pretty basic but the service was lovely. Their tap list isn't what I would call expansive but they did have a decent porter on the list, so I was happy. We got a large pretzel for the table which was good! The dining room is basic but comfortable and the prices are reasonable. Probably closer to 3.5 stars, but I rounded up for the service. Look I get it's a "resort-like" atmosphere; but absurdly overpriced food for a kids resort is not the same justification as prices in Maui or Miami. Toss in kids sitting at bar screaming and a barely mildly interested mgr/barkeep and I'll do hard pass on this place next time. No meal under $17 and I'm talking burgers, wings and other items that should have some cost value. A big miss on this menu too. The burgers were a stand out here! Both were double patties with plenty of toppings and under $20. The burger with the bbq on top was a stand out with cheese and bbq gracefully dripping on the sides. Especially unexpected since it's essentially a waterpark restaurant. The brisket was kind of dry but the loaded baked potato was large and amply topped. Convenient location for kalahari guests or Tom foolery customers. I wouldn't make a special stop here unless you are here for either of those. We stopped here specially for happy hour from 3-5. We had our eyes set on 2 tacos for $7. Both tacos have to be the same meat, which isn't uncommon from other places we have been. The tacos were delicious. The nacho tater tots were just okay. The queso burger (my son's main reason to want to come here) was insanely messy. See picture for more. But he enjoyed it after committing to getting dirty. They were out of PB, so he couldn't get the shake he wanted. They also can't make the mint milkshake nonalcoholic, so he settled on other. After asking these questions, our waitress seemed bothered by our presence. Prior to this though, she had been very hands off. After she delivered our hot meals, we didn't see her for another 15-20 minutes. So when we needed condiments, we had to go without, since by the time we saw her again, our food was already cold. After actually having the milkshake and finishing our foods, we sat again for another 20 minutes just waiting for her to come around with the check. We were on a tight timeline and the amount of time we spent just waiting on her was absurd. I would understand if it was busy, but honestly the restaurant was pretty empty. Food was good. Here in the Dells with my MS Band. Just to point out, nothing brought me more joy today than to see my band students having fun here. Especially my students I stumbled upon in the restaurant laughing and having a great time as they enjoyed their food too. I ordered the American Burger with Fries and added bacon. It was fantastic. The waitress asked me if I liked it, and questioned me because I had a lot left on my tray. She was a very nice waitress, but the food was a LOT! I couldn't eat that much, but it was amazing. If you're in the Dells at Kalahari, stop by Tom Foolery's and enjoy your time at Wisconsin Brew Pub. You won't leave hungry! They brought out the wrong Order for josh and after waiting after waiting again, the brisket platter was whatever! we didn't eat it cause it was thick and chewy. Completely gross if you've actually tasted what brisket is suppose to taste like! Milkshakes were 14-26$ and its probably their best dish in the restaurant. My biggest regret has been actually eating in the resort instead of going out with so many restaurants outside the resort vicinity!! Nothing special, but it's a decent option if you're staying at the Kalahari. We ate here once before today's lunch; today the kids' fries were crispy and hot while my wife and I got luke warm soggy fries. We both got the crispy chicken sandwich and while the breading had a slight kick of decent seasoning to it, it was fried in oil that wasn't to temp so the chicken absorbed the grease and the chicken itself wasn't seasoned before being breaded. The sandwich is poorly constructed and disintegrated with every bite. The server had a great personality and was attentive, but in an empty restaurant we should've have seen him more and he could've been much faster with everything except the food, which he can't control. All in all, there are many better options very close, so put in the effort and drive a couple of blocks to somewhere else. read more

Made reservations for dinner on 11/30 for four via OpenTable.com forty mins before our desired time. We indicated that we were coming from the waterpark. (This restaurant is in the same bldg as Kalahari Waterpark.) When we got there for our reservations, we were told that waterpark patrons could not come in. We had to go back to our rooms, & change clothes first. I thought it was counterintuitive given the restaurant was connected to a waterpark. Our plan was to eat dinner then go back to the waterpark. We canceled our reservations and ate somewhere else. The staff we met were super nice. I think management should rethink their policy. They should post a sign in the waterpark and on their website that waterpark patrons are not allowed to go inside the restaurant directly from the waterpark. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite before heading to Tom Foolery's for an evening of rides and arcade FUN. Not great, but not bad either. Only gets 3 stars based on value for the money. $9 for a draft craft beer or draft cider is outrageous, and only the mac & cheese was worth the cash outlay. The GREAT: Service was EXCELLENT. Simeon was on top of his game, and we were well taken care of throughout our meal. Drinks and food were fast and delicious. The Mac & Cheese was DELISH - both the original AND the chicken ranch! HIGHLY recommend any of the Macs. Portion size was better than good and could easily be shared. The "MEH": We also had the Prime Rib sandwich. It really did not have much flavor, and the dip did not help enhance the taste. To make it a little better, we had to dip it in ketchup.... Hardly what you want to do with savory prime rib - even if it is between the bread. The GOOD: The side Caesar was good, and they put PLENTY of cheese on it. The fries were just about perfect, and the tots held their own as a side. This gets a MAYBE, but I would consider it if you are already at Kalahari or Tom Foolery's. It is DEFINITELY worth it for the Mac & Cheese. I should have asked how much the draft beer was... felt like I was at professional sports event at those beer prices! read more

Was in town staying at the resort which is awesome by the way. Came here for dinner and knew I'd pay resort pricing which is fine. The good is my drink was awesome the rye lemonade. The food presentation looked good but was disappointed with the food. I ordered the French onion and it was cold when I got it which is weird being they melt the cheese. The waiter took it off the bill. The wings withy the dry rub were average and I love wings. I'm rating this restaurant 3 stars. When I came in, I noticed the place was well decorated, and the interior looked nice. The service was decent, but it could have been better. My food, however, was not up to expectation. I ordered a kitty cocktail, and there was barely any flavoring in it, just the slight taste of cold medicine. Watched their staff sweep up piles of spilled food and drink under the booths and then sweep the booths (where you sit) with the same disgusting brooms. They had it made with actual seasoning on it and grilled nicely and the manager brings it out and said with his patronizing tone, we used different seasonings for you since you didn't like the first one. I tasted it and said now this is what a seasoned salmon tastes like. My daughter's Mac and cheese also a big disappointment. She is like a pro Mac and cheese eater, so believe me when I tell you, my baby girl knows her Mac very well! Overall, terrible service, waitress MIA for the most part, bland, tasteless food being fed to hungry patrons that then have to gnaw at their fingernails as they wait and pray that a better meal is served to them. Normally I dont leave reviews like this one, but I just had one of the worst dining experiences in several years. We are staying at the Kalahari and decided to stay on site to give this place a try after a long afternoon at the waterpark. We walked in asked for a two seats and a high chair for my son, preferable at a table. I walk with a bad limp and a cane which makes getting in and out of booths extremely difficult. I was told they had no tables available, despite me looking directly at three open 4 seat tables, but they had a booth. It's not the best situation but I can manage it. The booth was this oblong shaped thing meant for five people and not a family with a toddler in a high chair. He was placed on the non booth side where neither my wife or myself could easily reach him to help eat. Again, not ideal but we can manage. So we waited. And we waited. And we waited. At least fifteen minutes passed by and we were not even acknowledged by a waitress. In the meantime, I watched three other tables be seated and greeted by their waitress. Normally I am fairly forgiving about this stuff but the restaurant was not that busy and the inconveniences keep adding up. Instead of leaving the restaurant like we should have, I instead went back to the hostess station to tell them. She followed me back the table, apologized, and said she would get a waitress immediately and take our drink order. A couple of minutes later waitress #1 comes over and apologies for the wait and wants to take our drink order. We explained the hostess just took our drink order, and instead we just wanted to order food. She took the order and left. We waited and waited and after another ten minutes had passed and about when I though they forgot about the drinks the waitress, which was incomplete. If you are keeping track it has been over a half hour from time we were seated until we even got water... well some of us. Shortly after our salads were served. A few minutes later waitress #2 came over to check on our drinks. Then later our meals came out. I am not event going to comment on food because by now I am jaded and not happy with what has been going on. As we were finishing up our meals waitress #2 came over to check on our drinks again. We finished our meals and really just wanted to pay or leave at this point. Instead we waited and waited and waited more, probably close to twenty minutes before waitress #2 came back to see if we wanted a complementary dessert and again apologized for us having to wait so long. My wife order a dessert to go, we needed cartons for our left over food, and I asked for the bill. The waitress came back and gave us 50% off our food bill. I thanked her and we packed up and left. While the free complementary dessert and half off was nice gestures, it does take away from the horrible experience. We were there nearly two hours in a not overly busy restaurant. I dont know who messed up tonight but I cant recommend this establishment. In fact, we probably are not eating anywhere on site the rest of our stay. read more
