    Fried chicken biscuit
    Mary I.

This place is amazing! Ive been wanting to go for a while and I'm so happy that I finally did! I HIGHLY encourage everyone to go here. The seating is so nice and reminds me of Georgetown, DC with seating outside. The food is soooo SOO good! I got the fried chicken biscuit and it was so fresh and so clean. My friend and I split it, and I'm happy we did it or it would have been too heavy. The biscuit was so warm and flack and the chicken was so juicy! My only complaint is that I wish there was more honey and the chicken was just a tad too salty. Everything was reasonably priced! My friend got the ginger mint soda (house made) and it was really watered down, so not a fan. Everyone should go here!

This food was simply amazing! I am a breakfast snob, and this food was again simply amazing! I didn't have to wait long for a table, the place on a Saturday morning was jumping, but you had people at the counter and at tables! I got the two eggs breakfast with a biscuit and sausage patty. Again the food was delicious! The restaurant was clean , service was amazing!

Biscuits were fluffy and delicious, egg and cheese were incredible. Potatoes salty and garlicky and roasted to perfection!! Very nice staff, food came out quick. Homey feel inside, very cozy!!

This place lives up to the hype. The fried chicken biscuit had incredible crunch and flavor. The build your own biscuit wasn't as good but I think it's because I didn't choose a good combination (I chose egg, sausage and bacon jam). The flavors didn't work. It might be helpful if they have some suggestions for folks with the BYO. There's ample space and seating and going on a Friday morning was a lot less hectic than the weekends probably are.

WOW. Went down in Memorial Day. Waited for about 20-25 in line. Moved well. People were courtesy to not sitting long. Food very good.

simply wow just wow. I mean the wait was long, but boy was it worth it! and the staff was so sweet and checking on us while we waited. Got a counter to seat situation that was odd at first but works so well for them. But the food, oh the food! Lights out breakfast. The honey cornbread cookie is still in my dreams. 10/10. Everything was so good - obviously the biscuits and the fun little biscuit bites were terrific. Go and get anything and you will be forever glad you did.

This has been on my list for a while. I went solo in a Saturday morning. Not the best move as they are so busy on the weekend and we had to wait outside. But because I was solo I got seated fairly quickly at the countertop. Everyone there was friendly and attentive. Plus I got to meet two new people who were also diners. I had the biscuits and gravy. Delicious. I did have to add a little local hot sauce with a side of potatoes. My new friend an engineer from Nigeria recommended the chimichurro 'sauce'. I did have that with the potatoes and it is out of this world. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. What a great hidden gem.

Yum! Bold southern flavors on fresh hot biscuits in a charming cafe setting. We found easy street parking in this nice residential part of Pittsburgh. The iced teas were fresh and served generously, and the fried chicken with just a little honey was excellent. Service was quick and friendly.

Don't go in and sit down. I missed the sign. We waited in line and placed our order. By the time we placed our order a table was available. The food was excellent. The biscuits were worth the price. I had the make your own sandwich with bacon, egg, and palmetto cheese. Egg was over easy with a gooey center that complemented the sandwich nicely. I had a taste of the biscuit and gravy. It was the best I ever tasted. Ambiance was bright and clean. Huge windows that left in a lot of light. We can't wait to go back.

I took my parents here for Sunday brunch and this place always hits the spot! They enjoyed the Greens, Egg & Ham biscuit sandwich (city ham, egg, braised greens, hot sauce), Johnny Cakes (3 cornmeal pancakes w/ butter & Paul family farm maple syrup), while I stuck with the Biscuit & Sausage Gravy breakfast plate (handmade sausage, warm biscuit, one egg any style). During peak times, my only suggestion would be for the restaurant to display a clearly marked sign along the sidewalk indicating where the line begins. This would help manage crowd control without patrons having to awkwardly patrol each other.

Stopped in here on our way to the draft to grab a gluten free breakfast sandwich - such a great decision! We stepped into this cute little place and we were greeted by a friendly employee who answered all my questions & found us somebody that could take out to go order & get us moving I had a gluten free biscuit with egg, cheddar & sausage patty, which is made in house. We waited 10 min and took our sandwiches to go It was piping hot & so good! Was a little tough to eat as I walked but I managed to inhale the WHOLE thing :)

Really enjoyed my recent visit to Wise County Biscuits!! If you can get past the lack of parking and the sometimes long lines then you are in for a delicious treat. Some lines are never worth the wait but this place is for sure. They have a variety of tables and a counter area for seating. My wife got a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and I got the Fried Biscuit Sandwich. It was a crispy buttermilk fried farm thigh with some local farm honey, was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've encountered. Biscuit was nice and fluffy and did not fall apart, the chef and the kitchen know exactly what they're doing here. They have an open kitchen so you can see them prepping the sandwiches in addition to trays of freshly baked biscuits, there is a good reason this place is always busy, a true gem in Pittsburgh.

Holy mother of biscuits! I didn't realize Pittsburgh was in the south?! On our last morning in town before leaving, we decided to come to Wise County Biscuits for breakfast, and it did not disappoint. After placing our order at the counter, we took a seat at a table and waited for our meal. To start, we shared the cinnamon sugar biscuit bites; think biscuit meets churro meets cinnamon sugar doughnut. They were the perfect sweet little appetizer we needed. For my dish, I could not resist the classic biscuits and gravy. To wash it all down I had an iced vanilla coffee. Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum! The biscuits were buttery and flaky without being dense. The gravy had great flavor and it could not have been a more perfect meal. f you are craving some stick to your ribs, delicious breakfast food, this spot needs to be number one on your list.

If you do, this place is for you…read more This place was started by Joe Primanti in 1933 to feed shift workers from the local warehouses (coal and iron) and railroads. They are known for big sandwiches which now includes fries and cole slaw. The sandwiches provided value to workers...who were looking for a place to feed themselves to keep their energy up for a long shift. When you sit at the bar and you can only imagine the workers that sat here to feed themselves with what little they had. They found a sandwich between two pieces of soft Italian bread with a good balance of meat, cheese, cole slaw and fries...think energy and value. The history here is real and intense. Would I rate this as a culinary destination? Not particularly but I would say it's a must see to be part of US history as the town righted itself and came to life. The sandwich? I had the pastrami with cole slaw, egg, fries and tomato on Italian bread. Remarkably, the sandwich was light...despite it sounding heavy. The cabbage and tomatoes bring a great balance to the sandwich which makes it messy and remarkably light. Be prepared to get messy..so eat fast! I am probably talking too much about the sandwich...just go try it. The food is probably a 3.5 but it gets the extra .5 for the amazing history there. The service was great...well educated on the product, accommodating in every way. If you are in Pittsburgh, this is a must try.

I had to go across the street to use the restroom because theirs were nasty. It required going down a steep set of stairs, and the women's bathroom floor was wet. There was also a bucket catching brown water dripping from somewhere, which was pretty concerning. The wings and onion rings were just average and didn't really stand out. There are newer locations of this restaurant that I'd recommend instead. Based on my experience, you'll likely have a much better overall visit at one of those locations

You have to try one of the signature sandwiches (various meats topped with coleslaw and fries and amazing, thick bread). Something to note is that this isn't a creamy coleslaw. In fact, on its own it doesn't have much flavor (mostly just pepper) but it somehow pairs well with the sandwich. The downside to this location is that they aren't exactly the best at table turnover/cleaning tables and the restaurant itself doesn't feel spotless (like some other locations do). But in a way, it kind of adds to the vibe of the place. There are several parking garages and also on street parking nearby. Nice that it has late hours most evenings (since a lot of downtown restaurants seem to close fairly early). Definitely worth a visit.

We stopped by while walking around the Strip District looking for a quick lunch. Food: The tomato sauce here is probably some of the best red sauce I've had in a long time. We ordered the Caprese Panzanella, meatballs, crispy potatoes, and spaghetti with red sauce. Everything was delicious, but the salad completely stole the show for me. It was packed with fresh ingredients, bright flavors, and so many different textures that worked perfectly together. Every dish tasted fresh, simple, and executed well. Service: For lunch, you're mostly taking care of yourself, but the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming whenever we interacted with them. Now, I am going to take you on a journey just like the books Belle read so strap in. We had a 5:45 PM reservation, and even arrived a few minutes early. The hostess/employee (I don't want to assume positions) took me upstairs for a table right by the window, which will be an awesome view when the construction finishes. It was also a beautiful sight of that part of the city as-is. When I was seated, I was one of a few tables seated. It was not full or even busy at that time. Also, as we were seated, we were given waters. My friend joined me about 5-7 minutes after the reservation time. We then ordered our drinks at about 6:00/6:05 PM. From there, we waited and did not meet our waiter, who will be referred to as sweet baby angel Max from here on out, until about 6:20 PM. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees at around this time. Our orders had some modifications but nothing major. By this time, many more tables were seated upstairs and others seemingly received their alcoholic drinks and even appetizers by the time we received only our drinks around 6:30-6:40. Our drinks were big, too, which is great, but that also meant we had to drink them a little more quickly due to the time constraints with the show. We were enjoying ourselves but noticed multiple more tables receiving not only their drinks and apps but also their entrees. Once 6:55 came, we had to tell sweet baby angel Max about our predicament. I will be honest and say we suggested for our drinks to be comped at least - not only for the wait and lack of courtesy with everyone else receiving their items before us despite our arrival and reservation time, but for the fact that we would have maybe 15 minutes to eat, finish our drinks, pay, take our food back to our cars, and make curtain time. What sweet baby angel Max did next flabbered our gasts -- he said not only will our drinks be comped but our whole meal will be comped. He also helped pack our food and kept it in the back so we didn't have to worry about going back to our cars. We made sure to tip him with all we had! We are so glad we did because when we returned after the show, he had the kitchen remake the food and kept it warm for us. When you go to The Eagle, ask for sweet baby angel Max and you will not be disappointed with him, the service, or the food. Because even when they may mess up? The Eagle gets it right with their classy attitude and positive treatment of their customers. You definitely have multiple return customers just from this encounter. Thank you!!!
