Soup and pasta. So fresh, so good.

Lunch menu update, still so good. We loved the fettuccini Alfredo and soup. The pizza is excellent. Service is great. It's fresh made pizza, so don't come here if you are in a hurry.

    Meat lovers, thin crust

Popped in for lunch, what a pleasant surprise! First and foremost, it's a pizza place - you place your order at the counter, pay, then they bring it to your table. We placed our order, walked around the corner to find a table and then realized there's a full on BAR in the adjacent room! Overall it's a classic Italian pizzeria, sports bar atmosphere - but what you need to know is the pizza is GOOD. I had the personal meat lovers on thin crust and it was excellent. We'll be back the next time we're in town.

The redeeming thing about tonight is the company of friends I was with and that the manager refunded a portion of our money because they forgot to give us our order of chicken wings. Apparently, there was a misunderstanding because they saw two orders of wings on the table (that belonged to our two friends) and only served us our garlic knots without our order of wings. They did not check or collect the numbers assigned to the separate orders and just assumed we received all the wings we had ordered. Our friends waited patiently for our food to arrive before starting to eat, but it took so long that their two orders of wings were cold after they finally brought out ours. The wings were just okay in my opinion - hot and charred when they did finally arrived. The manager politely apologized for the hour we were waiting and refunded us for the wings. She asked us if we needed ranch and we said yes, but the dressing never came, so we ended up using our friends' ranch. The garlic knots were definitely better than the wings, but be aware they were the size of pretzel bites. The restaurant was noticably busy tonight with a lot of dine-in and take-out orders and inexperienced staff members contributed to our less than great experience. If you prefer a quieter meal, I don't suggest trying the restaurant on a busy weekend or during a television sports event.

We had 4 adults and all loved the food and the blood orange beer. Atmosphere is spot on, food is fabulous and staff is always friendly. Shout out to Max who helped us out and made our evening that much better!!! Thank you Max!!

We love Wise Guys. When friends come to town it's always a required visit to share our favorite local pizza spot with others. My Hot Honey with extra pepperoni, might be perfection! For years this was our Sunday night date spot. We had Wise Guys cater our wedding reception. We are truly your biggest fans and supporters. We love your friendly staff, great pizza, and solid beer selection. Some evenings I get a craving and go by myself to have a couple pints while I wait for a to-go pizza. Or after a bike ride we like to get a pitcher or two and a pizza. Of course most restaurant prices have crept up since covid times. I get that. For the most part I'm happy to pay a premium to help keep our favorite pizza place in business so they can afford to take care of their amazing staff. But $12 beer is where I draw the line. When pint prices jumped to $9 we started to realize our bill was getting awful expensive. We would still try to visit once a week or so but no longer could we justify 2+ visits a week. And when we do go we usually just have 1 beer instead of 2-3 beers. Now with our usual beers peaking at $12 a pint or $30 for a pitcher (~7% west coast not a 13% stout or anything) I'm considering dropping to zero beers per visit. I just can't possibly justify vegas prices at a local pizza place. I'll have a root beer next time. I love you guys and can't even bring myself to leave a less than 5 star review. But I promise you this is a bad marketing decision that will result in far fewer beers sold, but more importantly this will erode loyal guest frequency, and overall create negative sentiment and a depleted value proposition.

First, the staff members who were working that day were incredibly helpful, can't say enough about how good the service was. We had 3 pizzas, wings and lasagna, all were 5 STARS. First time there and we will be back.

Documentation of the second call and a very nice review for the associate by the name of Zak.

I am documenting this. I called back again at 5:30 as instructed by the girl that hung up on me. I spoke to an associate by the name of Zak. He was professional. He was courteous and he took my order. The point of this follow up review is to be fair. Hirer good people and they give good service. Hire people who wanna hang up on people and you get bad reviews. The net net is that Zak is a keeper.

Tucked into a strip mall-style center with other restaurants, a store, a liquor shop, and a nearby coffee spot, Wise Guys Pizzeria might not stand out at first glance--but don't let that fool you. Parking is abundant, though it seems like parking within the lines is a lost art for many patrons. Still, it's worth navigating the lot for what awaits inside. Wise Guys nails that dark, slightly divey, old-school New York Italian restaurant vibe in all the best ways. You walk up to the counter to place your order--just like the classic pizzerias from the '70s--then grab a seat at a black-and-white vinyl tablecloth-covered table, stick your plastic number into the little tag holder, and wait for your food. The service is prompt and friendly, and the food shows up hot and fast. I went with Papa's Pepperoni Pizza Bread and Italian Meatball Sliders for lunch. Both were excellent--rich, hearty, and seriously filling. This place is a true throwback to every pizza joint I remember growing up with in Southern California. High marks all around!

The service was outstanding--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. What makes this place special is that there's no traditional cocktail menu. When making reservations a $25 deposit is required per person but will be applied to your bill day of visit. The hostess was very kind upon check in and took us to the back where the 46 door is. She provided us a code and explained the time limit along with house rules. We were then told to knock on the door and proceed with the experience. Kudos to the owner as this is the only speakeasy in the OC that has a true speakeasy feel entrance. They had a gentleman open the peephole and ask for the entry code. Once we said the code we entered a really cool mine shaft area. The attention to detail was on point and I was impressed! We were then taken upstairs to a private bar where there are four tables of four so a max of 16. This makes sense as to why reservations are hard to come by. The only ding about seating is you are sat with strangers it is not a private table. Luckily we had a fun older couple at our table so it made the conversation more lively. Otherwise don't go here with an expectation of an intimate/ private date night. They also offer a limited food menu but looked very promising. However, we were here for a night cap so just dabbled in drinks. The bartender had a seasonal menu of 4 cocktails he created. He explained the drinks and then had us try each one with a straw. We then placed our order based on what we liked. He did say if we were not a fan he could create us our own personal cocktail as well. The old fashion he created was phenomenal! Overall, a cool little spot in the OC. Do wish they were open later as they do close at 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

Hi Melene Thank you for your response. I want to acknowledge…read morethat I did eventually sit down without being seated, and I understand that doing so was not consistent with your normal process. For that, I take responsibility. However, I believe your description leaves out important context that contributed to the situation. I waited in line like every other customer and spoke directly with the hostess. She was preparing to seat me, but then informed me that because I did not yet have all four members of my party present, I could not be seated. I explained that some members of my party were still looking for parking while others were on their way, and asked whether I could simply be seated as a party of one while I waited. I had driven a considerable distance specifically for this event and intended to purchase food and drinks. I was told that I could not be seated or served until the rest of my party arrived. What made this especially confusing was that the event had been advertised as first come, first served. Based on that advertising, I reasonably expected that arriving early and waiting in line would secure a place. Instead, I was told I could not be seated or served despite having arrived and waited my turn. Out of frustration, I briefly sat down hoping to get a drink of water and order food while waiting. When I was told I could not sit there, I immediately got up and left the table. I then asked whether there was anywhere else I could at least get food and water while waiting for my friends. Both the hostess and the manager informed me that I could not be served unless my full party was present. What further added to my frustration was watching a party of two get seated shortly afterward. Whether there were circumstances I was unaware of or not, it created the appearance that the policy was being applied inconsistently. My concern is less about being denied a table and more about the inconsistent messaging and customer experience. Had I been clearly informed in advance that "first come, first served" was subject to a full-party seating requirement, I would have planned accordingly. While I can acknowledge my role in the interaction, I believe there is also an opportunity for your business to reflect on how situations like this are communicated and handled. Customer dissatisfaction often comes not from the existence of a policy, but from inconsistent application and poor communication of that policy. Given the number of reviews expressing similar concerns, it may be worth considering whether there is a pattern that deserves attention. I wish your business success and appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Save your time and money. GO ELSEWHERE!…read more I rarely write reviews, but this experience was bad enough to warrant one. We came in with a valid coupon--not expired, nothing shady--and were flat-out refused. No reasonable explanation, no attempt to make it right, just a dismissive "we're not honoring that." For the record, we ordered two margaritas, a fountain drink an appetizer and split a taco plate. The coupon was for a free appetizer. After presenting the bill the manager stated they cannot honor the coupon because the appetizer was more than the tacos (the appetizer being tater tots, that I ADDED $7.00 carne asada to.) I asked if they could just take the tater tots off or even just take the tacos off if it were a price issue. They refused. Made no attempt to make the situation right. Unfortunately, the food didn't come close to making up for it. Everything tasted bland, poorly prepared, and overpriced for the quality. It honestly felt like zero care went into what was served. The drinks from the bar weren't any better--weak, unbalanced, and not even close to what you'd expect from a "Sports bar" What really sealed the deal was the manager's attitude. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, he came across as dismissive and uninterested. No accountability, no customer service--just a shrug and a bad vibe. Overall, this place misses the mark on every level: food, drinks, and integrity. There are too many good restaurants out there to waste time and money on one that doesn't respect its own customers. So many restaurants going out of business locally it's sad, but with events like this, it makes sense. Value the customer. Take pride in serving your community.
