The worst customer service! We bought a vape. Brought it home and it wouldn't work. We brought it back to the store and they couldn't get it to work or would they replace it. They claim that we should have opened it up in the store to see if it worked. They never told us about this when purchasing. The worst policy! I actually don't have anything negative to say about this place except that they don't have my coils sometimes but for the most part the prices are somewhat fair... They staff for the most part is very knowledgeable and if they don't know something they don't try to screw you over they just admit it and try to find and answer for you.. overall I like here and everyone is super friendly so I keep coming back... and I don't even vape like that!! This will be pertaining to the WGV company as a whole and not specifically the Palatine location. A family member of mine who I'm especially close with was employed for 4 days before they were let go. I'm writing this review on their behalf and per their request. This is their first job in a vape store, and first retail job. Most places don't lie to you about the wage you will be making and this should've been their first red flag as to not work here. During the phone interview with Farhan they were asked "how much are you looking to make an hour?" They responded with $13-$14 an hour as WGV posted on their Indeed page $13-$15. Come to find out on their first day of working that starting wage is $11 then after 90 days increases to $11.50/hour. You can make more money working at McDonald's. The world has been a crazy place the last 2 years with the Covid-19 pandemic still raging all over the world. This company clearly doesn't care about its customers, let alone their employees. My family member was exposed to Covid and as soon as they found out they had been exposed they contacted Farhan and the Team Lead at the store they were working at. Their father, mother, 4 year old brother, and 12 year old sister all tested positive yesterday 11/11 and they had gone over to their parents house a few days prior to help their mother with some cleaning for some extra money just to get by. They are Type 1 Diabetic and allergies to the vaccine prevents them from receiving any of the available vaccinations and puts them at even higher risk of contracting the virus. The people in charge were informed of the situation and that my family member wanted a negative PCR test before comfortably returning to work, as the rapid results aren't always accurate even when symptoms are present. The reason given for termination of employment was "attendance issues." Being late one day ended their employment, along with some scheduling issues that Farhan just didn't care to work with, and not wanting to possibly spread covid if the PCR came back positive but the rapid came back negative. They were employed for 4 days, 3 of which were "training" and on the 4th day were left to run the store completely alone. The day of tartiness in question was their first solo day, that of which they weren't given access to the key to unlock the door, nor the code to disarm the security system, let alone even told they would be flying solo. Personally all this seems highly unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend even giving this place your business as they treat their employees like crap, don't care about spreading Covid to fellow employees and customers, and boldfaced lies about hourly compensation. If I could give this place a 0 star review I would. read more

First off, I am not a smoker so my comments are based purely on observation. This store has been open for a month or so, and I had some free time so I stopped in. My first thought when I entered was my glasses had steamed up. Since the temperatures outside and inside were about the same, I knew it couldn't be that. There were three people in the store all vaping so the vapor filled the air. I have to admit that I was surprised - there was no odor. But I found it funny that it was so hard to see. The store was clean and well appointed. They seemed to have a wide variety of products and different liquids to vape with. I don't know if the three people in the store all worked there or some were customers, but all were friendly and wanted to be helpful. Personally, I don't have much of a reason to go back. But if you do vape, pay them a visit. read more

First visit the guy was super helpful, and had a great conversation. Thought I would stop in again while I was in the area, and this time the girl with the Medusa piercing rolled her eyes at me when I walked in. It was for sure toward me since I was the only person besides herself there. She then continued her attitude after I asked if they had something I needed. I decided it was not worth it, and I didn't want to spend my money there so I just left. I rather pay high taxes in the city. read more

I used to love coming here. The staff was super helpful, and the store just has a cool vibe to it. The last few visits, though, there's a female working who either, A. Doesn't want to work, B. Knows absolutely nothing about vapes, or C. A combination of both. She was rude, and generally unhelpful. Today I walked out, and will drive 25 minutes out of my way to another shop, because I refuse to spend any money there while she's working. The dude that drives the ST, super cool, very helpful. I've been purchasing my juice and coils here for the past few years and have always had good experiences here, but today I stopped in after work around 4pm and the employee was sleeping behind the counter. I really wanted to like this place. So cute inside. I had a rude person try , or actually not try to help me. He was swearing and obviously, that's not very professional. I'm new to vaping. Asked questions and felt like I was a bother to him. He would rather be on his phone and help customers. Three people walked in. No one offered to help.then.they were there for a few minutes no help and walked out. What a shame. read more

Came in here a few days ago to get a pod for my Suorin Drop. The guy working at the time didn't acknowledge my presents until I said "how are you doing?" And he responds with the snarkiest attitude "same as every other day". He asks me what I need and I tell him "just a drop pod.". He continues to fumble with his bottle of juice, trying to unwrap it. After watching him struggle opening his bottle, he finally gets it, and proceeds to fill his tank as I am sitting here waiting for him to finish his personal project so I can go about my day. He grabs the drop pod off the wall, tosses it onto the counter, and blurts out "six sixty". He had 0 mannerisms, 0 respect for customers, and was all around unpleasant to be anywhere near. On top of that, every single pod I have ever purchased from Wise Guys has had an issue where it does not make a connection on either of the drops I have. I have purchased dozens from other shops and I have never had an issue. Only the pods from wise guys are problematic. It sucks that this place is so convenient, because this employee and these products are nothing but disappointing. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the girl who works there is awesome. Very helpful, super nice, and always respectful and never had an attitude unlike the Travis Barker wannabe working in the morning that day. I went to the shop in Huntley that just opened a few months ago... no yelp page for it yet but I had to write a review because its the same owners. I'm new to vaping and chose to go there because they were the only shop shop open late on a Sunday. As you know, vape shops can be intimidating if you're new. The guy working, Scott (I believe he said his name was), was extremely chill, very welcoming, and very knowledgeable of the products. I went in, discussed what I was looking for and he had me try a few new juices and with prices you cannot beat. It's hard to come by a vape shop out towards the end of civilization and I'm glad we have a really good one near by. Keep up the awesome work! The employees are pleasent and knowledgeable. I was in desperate need of a new RDA as my last one was a crappy waste of money, and they recommended the Goon 22. By far the best RDA I've ever had. Pretty damn sure this just became my go to place for everything vape. read more

Farhan the manager/owner is absolutely great he replaced a battery that I accidentally left on the charger that went missing. The customer service is on point. Great choice and wide array of juice flavors, there is also a grand opening party amount other events with raffles and prizes coming up. I will no doubt be attending these events and can't stress the helpfulness of the staff and the juice selection being on point. read more

Absolutely terrible shop environment; always kids hanging around in there creating so much noise that I have a problem hearing what the employee is telling me. Also, very unsanitary shop; there's always bugs in there and I can't imagine that's good around the juice. From what I hear, the owner really needs to step up his game; it seems as though the only ones that care about the place are the employees! Hands down this place is the BEST vape store I've been to. As soon as I walked in the guy behind the counter (I can never remember names) greeted me and asked me what music I'd like him to play. I then asked him what seemed like way too many questions about the current vape I own. He was patient and very knowledgeable. He helped me pick out juice that was just perfect. I received some education on atomizers while I was there as well. I can't praise this place enough. This place is going to be around a very long time. read more
