Don't go here unless you want to waste your time. I called at 9:30am and asked if there would be any barbers available at 10. I was told yes and to come through. I get there at 10 all the chairs are full, and I'm the only one waiting, that's fine. Two guests arrive after me, one who said they had just called and got a similar response to just come in. After waiting 30min both customers who came in after me get seen before I do. After an hour of waiting one guy that was in the chair when I arrived is STILL getting his hair cut, a fourth barber showed up with yet another customer who was seen before me and when I asked when I would be seen they couldn't give me an answer. At this point I left because I had a flight to catch and had to go without a haircut. I get that some people have appointments and this is exactly why I called ahead. I have been going to the Springfield location for a little over a year. The barber does good work, but he is never on time. This usually is not a problem because I understand how easy it is to get off schedule in this line of work and I'm not normally pressed for time (still doesn't make it right). However, today was the final straw. I scheduled an appointment for today at noon and I also texted the barber to let him know. I explained that I HAVE to be IN THE CHAIR at noon because I have a flight to catch. His response was "you'll be the first one". Cool. I arrive on time for the appointment and he is not there! When he finally got on the phone, he said he would not arrive for another 10 minutes...at this point, it is already 10 minutes PAST my SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. He called me 10 minutes before my appointment, just to tell me he can't make because a mechanic was working on his car. He then offered to reschedule me for the next day at a time of my choice. Called to schedule an appointment and I was told I needed to do it online. Tried that and got no confirmation (non-working website). So then I tried to schedule an appointment through Yelp and the owner responded that I should "walk-in" on a Saturday for a haircut with a trainee. I ask for an appointment instead due to my crazy schedule. It's been three days and the owner has not responded. I think I'm being turned away because the haircut would be for my son (annot an adult). I'm not sure why a business would want to turn away a potential new customer simply because he's a child. My son gets a haircut every two weeks like clockwork and my money is just as good as if it were from any other patron. I've been coming here for a while now and was quite pleased before the second location opened. Once the Springfield spot opened and Jimmy left, this Burke location went to sh*t. The professionalism is terrible and even when you book an APPOINTMENT, you still have to wait and sometimes you even have to HOPE that your barber is still there. This happened on 3 separate times where I booked with CHAVO. And he either left before I arrive, or he wasnt even there until 30 min AFTER the scheduled time. I gave him the benifit of the doubt the first couple times, but it's a continuous thing with him. I would NOT recommend CHAVO. You'll be much happier choosing a different barber, trust me. I grew out my hair for 4 months so I just wanted to shape it. I went in and I even showed the lady multiple pictures. She glanced at it and she said that she got it. She started cutting my hair with the chair faced AWAY from the mirror so I couldn't even see how she was messing up my hair.
