Picanha (butcher cut) with caramelized onions and twice baked potato. Background is the ribeye with loaded potato.

Start with an Old Fashioned. You won't be disappointed. The drinks, food and service were impeccable. My husband and I enjoyed the lobster bisque, Ceasar salad, ribeye, picanha steak (with a twice baked potato which is just difficult to come by these days) and a mound of parmesean truffle fries with a side of aioli. Everything was prepared exquisitely and there wasn't a bad bite of anything. Our waitress was fantastic, knowledgeable and her recommendations were spot on. Our only disappointment was with ourselves at not leaving enough room to try dessert. Atmosphere was fine, nothing special; the large booths are nice. You need a reservation so plan ahead.

As amazing as the food is, the service is equally as bad. I hate that I have to give such a lackluster review because it was one of the best filets I have had in a long time - juicy, perfectly medium rare, lots of flavor, and covered in mushrooms. However, we waited for over 20 minutes in the seated bar area before anyone approached us about ordering drinks. I had to go to the nice hostess and ask her if I could get on the wait list for a table because we had not yet been helped. Only then did we get served after she told one of the wait staff. Thumbs. Down. The waitress had a bad attitude the rest of the experience and ruined the rest of the meal. Left us with a bad taste in our mouth. Overall, disappointing dining experience for what is supposed to be Wausau's best steakhouse

Best steakhouse in Weston Wi. Joel and his staff do a great job. They grow their own herbs and veggies and in the summertime and the French martini is my favorite. Their cheese curds and truffle fries never let me down! On Friday I enjoyed the kale salad and salmon. I don't know how they get the salmon so crispy on top. My family loves the steaks but anytime there's a seafood special or scallops I make sure to order it. Favorite restaurant in Wausau

Late on a Thursday night. Coming from out of town we had reservations. Upon arriving it seemed we didn't need them. Maybe due to the late hour. I ordered a martini and was surprised at the $11.50 price -- there was a $1.50 upcharge for Bombay Sapphire (OK) and a $2 charge for being straight up? WTF. Cost them a star. Rail old fashions are $6.00. Steaks are $29-$40 and come with a choice of potato or veggies. The steaks are dry aged up to 40 days, came rare as ordered and were excellent. Soup and salad are extra. The lobster bisque was very good. Save room for dessert and have a brandy alexander. It's large and shareable.

Heart of ribeye with golden beets and wagyu picanha with a baked potato

My wife and I visited on a Saturday with a 7pm reservation. From the hostess to our waitress Cindy to the food everything was top notch. Cindy was friendly, checked on us, and helped us make decisions throughout the entire night. I told Cindy that I like a medium rare steak but in most places they come out pink. I like my steak red, but not rare. She introduced me to rare plus which I got on the wagyu picanha. It was perfect and like butter. I'm a convert. My wife's filet was also great. The calamari was also great not an easy get in Central Wisconsin. I loved my butterscotch budino. We've been talking about the meal all day. Well done!

Great service this time around after the menu refresh! Our server was very friendly and prompt…read moredespite having a large table upstairs. The charcuterie board was an excellent choice for a light meal while the kids eat their dinner early. The lemon dessert was light and delicate with a good balance of sweet and tart from the berries. Good beer from the Saw Mill as usual. Love dim lighting which creates a causal and relaxing ambiance.

The service is absolutely horrific! I give honest reviews, and I need to say that the hostess or…read morethe manager was truly a very awful person. We sat and waited for more than 40 minutes after our so called reservation. We were never asked if we wanted to sit upstairs or downstairs, but he was going to put us at a high top with two babies. That makes no sense at all! My neighbors were even there and asked for a downstairs table as they were elderly and couldn't get up the high stairs. They had to wait for almost an hour to get it. Unfortunately, we didn't even get to try the food, because the wait took so long. When I mentioned this to the manager, he literally yelled at us on our way out in front of everyone. What a wonderful memory of this place. He was a JERK. The place is adorable, but I would highly suggest to make sure you ask your customers if they want to sit upstairs or downstairs and their preferences before you decide to book a large group. Along with that, if you have people waiting for so long, at least offer them a water or something while they wait. I also heard from my Neighbors that their French toast was hard., the wait was long, and everything was overpriced for what you got. I would not suggest going here if you're looking to spend a half a day just waiting for just ok food.

I've been meaning to come here for a while and have heard rave reviews from friends and family. I…read morewas happy to hear that my wife secured reservations for us and another couple to try the restaurant out for the first time. Being the former Basil restaurant space, the interior is more intimate, darkly lit and a sure romantic spot for date night. The waitress was prompt and helpful selecting drinks off of their menu, inclusive of wine, beer and craft cocktails. Everyone at our table ordered a different drink or glass of wine and there were no complaints. For appetizers I ordered a bruschetta, which was served on a very crispy slice of seasoned bread. What was interesting was that the tomato topping (which was perfectly seasoned with basil, garlic and other spices) was served in a bowl on the side to allow everyone to top to their taste preference. It was a nice touch. We also sampled the cheese curds, which held up well to our Wisconsin standards, and a soup which I can't remember the name of but got high marks. Now for the main course. I was not expecting to be mind blown, by my god. The namesake dish, the Osso Bucco, was absolutely phenomenal. The veal was literally falling off of the bone and was easily, effortlessly separated with a fork. I have rarely had meat this tender. On the other side of the bowl was a fantastic risotto and a perfectly seasoned stew of carrots and onions. I did not indulge in the bone marrow, but I have heard it is a delicacy. Altogether this dish was worth every penny, and I will absolutely be having it again. To finish off this fantastic meal we opted for the tiramisu, which was elegantly plated in a creative manner I have never before seen. I enjoyed the wonderful ending to this delicious meal, and when you visit this restaurant I'm sure you will too.

I had the seafood stew, and it was quite underwhelming; it was more of an under-seasoned pasta dish. The bay scallops and shrimp were pretty tough and overcooked, BUT whatever whitefish was in the dish was outstanding. My hubby had a Caesar salad and the scallops entree. Both were wonderfully executed. The dressing on the salad was the perfect amount, lettuce crisp, and just plainly done well. And the scallops were perfect. Elaboration would take away from what was just 'muah.' :) Server was attentive, but not overly pushy. Ambiance was low key, quiet, and warm.
