I totally recommend this place for wellness treatment. Convenient location near the Valley fair mall. Acupuncture, cupping, massage therapy - I get a mix of treatments whenever I go. They always have some soothing music playing and I love the cleanliness. It is not difficult to find appointments usually, Dr. James is very polite, professional and knowledgeable. He figured most issues for us, without us needing to tell most things. Our treatments were pretty different and focused on our individual requirements and it has been very effective for me. I have been regularly visiting there for a year or so now. I try to visit there at least once a month. I would really recommend this place. I called Dr. James out of desperation (kind of being dramatic, but...). We found out that our baby was in the breech position at 37 weeks, so per Kaiser's suggestion, we sought out someone who could do moxibustion. I think I called 15 places, honestly, and Dr. James was one of the first ones that picked up and said he had availability the next day, which was a Sunday! I think maybe with the language barrier, he had a bit of a hard time understanding my situation and thought that our baby needed moxibustion, but after some explaining, he understood the situation. His prices are definitely reasonable, and fortunately, there was the yelp price too (yay for yelp!). My husband and I showed up the next day for the appointment. Dr. James is definitely direct and to the point, and he had me in an inversion position while he burned the moxa by my pinky toes (the bladder acupressure points). I could definitely feel our baby move and he did this for an hour or so. What I liked about Dr. James was that he was matter-of-fact and honest. He shared that our baby may or may not turn, and typically moxibustion should be done around 32 weeks or so (too bad, since we only found out about our baby's position at 37 weeks). All in all, instead of trying to sell me more moxibustion sessions, he just sold us the moxa and explained to us how to use it on our own. Our baby dropped, but is still in her breech position, but all in all, I definitely appreciate Dr. James, his knowledge, and honesty. If I need to/want to get acupuncture or any other Chinese Medicine practice in the South Bay, I would definitely come to WL wellness --- yes, even if the moxibustion didn't completely "work." read more

I had broken three vertebra in my spine and was taking pain medications and muscle relaxers but I was still suffering tremendous pain every 4 hours. I went down to this clinic and got treated by the acupuncturist and he was very gentle kind and patient and we worked through a tremendous amount of healing with the acupuncture needles and the infrared lighting to illuminate toxins from the muscle in a little bit of electrical stimulation. This illuminated about 70% of my pain and now I am able to get up from my bed to tend to my bathroom needs and are feeling much better without any pain. They charge $120 on my credit card and also pressure me to provide insurance information and I recently found out they filed multiple claims to the insurance and received several hundred dollars from insurance even though they already charged $120 from my credit card! Strange... I've noticed a review that doesn't make any sense in reality to me. This prompted me to tell the truth about my experience with WL Wellness. For the past 3 months I've been coming 2x a week; and, my experience has been nothing but one of total and complete professionalism. I've been treated with the utmost kindness. I noticed a comment about rudeness and an accusation of racist inclinations. I can't even believe such claims since for me it's been quite the opposite. I think I would know such things because I grew up in Detroit. Let me tell you, I've experienced the aforementioned first hand there and I can say I had no such even remote experience at WL Wellness. If I had to guess it might be a misinterpretation that could be cultural. But that's just a guess. This review has been overdue ... I started coming to this place in December 2019. I suffer from Ménière's Disease and so I get a lot of migraine headaches and vertigo , I also have issues with hot flashes , insomia and back and shoulder pain. Dr. James is very patient in explaining his treatment and very soft spoken, I haven't suffered any vertigo since I started coming here . I'm sleeping a lot better and my hot flashes has lessen. I have had issues the past few years with my toes twitching at night, it would keep me awake most of the night sometimes. My doctor's advice did not help, so she sent me to a neurologist. He said there was nothing he could do for me except give me Valium. I tried acupuncture at WL Welness. He asked me right away how I was sleeping, and I told him I did not sleep well, and I told him about the toes twitching and he said he would help me, and he did! Nothing else has worked, it has been a torment, but after a few sessions, my sleep has improved vastly! I can't believe it! The toe twitches have mostly stopped! Three words, rude, condescending and racist. As soon as I walked in, the doctor was also working the front desk ask that I fill out the five form. He starts counting the forms to me. I stop him on three, saying I got it. Note, he's not telling me where to sign, just counting the form to me. Also, I had some questions on some jargon I did not know in the new patient forms. I wrote them down to ask later, to hurry the startup process...we will come back to the words. He kept using the word boy...and oddly so. He was telling a story about another muscular patient, bigger and monster size. In telling this guy's story, he said this "boy" this and this "boy" that. Same thing with story of a "boy" who had to exercise or he would die. I think now-a-days most use this guy, man or dude when referring to another male, unless they are actually talking about a child the use of "boy" is out of place...but like I said it was used often and oddly. Oh, did I mention I am Afro-American. Remember those words I said I would come back to, they were moxibustion and Tui-na. The words were in the new patient paperwork that he ask me to sign. During the treatment, when nothing was going on, I asked about the words. He dismiss it saying something, like don't worry about it. I literally had to asked 3 to 4 times before I got and answer. Moxibustion, he told had to do with menopause and Tui-na means massage. At the end, back at the receptionist desk, I asked for a copy of the papers I signed. He was one foot away the lobby copier. He asked would you like that emailed to you. No, can you make me a copy, I replied. You can take a picture of it with your phone, he said. I told him, I would prefer a copy. Finally, I said, "in the papers I sign, it states, I can have a copy of anything I signed. I don't think asking for a copy is an unreasonable request. Also, neither is asking for a definition of terminology I am unfamilar with. He then turned a made the copies. I swear, ninty percent of what came out of his mouth had a negative tent to it. I seen the positive review, but this was my experience. I wish I could go lower than one star! read more

Lately my right shoulder has been giving me some issues while working out. It extended into pain with everyday activities such as shutting a window or reaching over into my passenger side of my car to grab my purse. I did around 7 sessions with a chiropractor which helped.
