Finally went to Wojo's after hearing about it for ages. I was mostly curious about their shakes and I told myself I'd just grab one... but yeah, ended up ordering food too. I tried the Oreo shake and it was exactly what I wanted, thick, creamy, and had real Oreo chunks in it. Not the fake syrup taste you sometimes get. This was Super good. I also got a burger and honestly that's what stood out the most. You can see the flames on the grill while they're cooking, which is pretty cool. The burger came out hot and juicy with a nice char, seasoned just right. The bun actually held up the whole time without turning soggy, which I appreciated. Fries were crispy, golden, and they came out hot. The vibe here is pretty cool, kind of old-school diner style. Staff was friendly and even though it was a weekend afternoon, I didn't wait long at all. I'll be coming to Wojo's again, hopefully soon. This spot hits the mark. read more

Finally we came and were allowed to use the gift cards we purchased in April. We got a burger/chili cheese fries and a few other items for the kids. The "cheddar" burger was a regular hamburger with a few good squirts of nacho cheese. It was everywhere, I know burgers are messy but this was so messy it had to be cut up and eaten with a fork. First thing first, I REALLY wanted to try a milkshake but I didn't. Holy cow over 70 plus combos. Lactose intolerance is a mofo. Not often am I surprised by a good dog. It was a skinless Vienna beef with all the toppings, even celery salt and a poppyseed bun that was soft and pillowy. Everything was super fresh and I could actually taste everything. The one thing I really loved was the pickle was proportional to the dog and had a surprise of cucumber on the dog. They even have a bison dog that I will have to try next. The natural cut fries was hot and salted to perfection. I had to slow down munching on them so I can have them with the dogs. I'm not in this area often, but will have to come back with a fistful of Lactaid tablets so I can try shake number #45 or maybe #23 or maybe #9, regardless I will definitely have the dogs again. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich which was not at all spicy and I asked for everything on it and I didn't know everything meant just two slices of tomato's and a bit of mayo. The food took forever to be ready and I was the only one in the restaurant. The cook and "cashier/owner" seemed really unmotivated to work. Wojos is literally 2 blocks away from me, which is really convenient. We walked over here to grab some takeout for dinner. I ordered the nacho cheeseburger, nacho cheese fries and the nacho cheese dog. My partner ordered a chili cheeseburger, fries and a banana milkshake. We both added giardiniera to our burgers. We came back and saw that there was an extra hot dog in our bag, we didn't remember ordering it but also didn't check the receipt so we might have paid for 2, but it was nice to see an extra hot dog that we didn't expect. It ended up being that we each have two items to eat plus fries. When they say nacho cheese on the menu, what they mean is the creamy cheese sauce in a decent size container -- if I knew, I probably would've ordered one of the cheeses to dip my fries in. I still finished the two cups of cheese, and I was able to have a different experience with the burger and the hot dog than I normally have. Looking back, it seemed pretty obvious that that was what I'd be getting, but I guess I made it up in my head that I'd be getting a Doritos nacho cheese kind of vibe. It's a pretty affordable place, it filled us up, and the food wasn't bad at all. We'd definitely return, and I'd recommend Wojos to anyone in the area looking for fast food. I have been at Wojo's often since my kids attend both schools nearby. My order is usually the same; Swiss & mushroom burger with sweet potato fries. After a few visits, the staff anticipated what I would order, and always confirmed it with me. I felt so welcomed. Friendly staff, good food and the dining area was clean. The shakes are reasonably priced and it's plentiful and amazingly good; so worth it. My favorite is strawberry shakes. I'm sure to branch off my usual orders but I'm content for now. I was at Wojos tonight and ordered a hot dog and a scoop of chocolate chip ice cream. 61 flavors but out of chocolate chip.. no biggie. Then I get hot dog and get in my car to eat.. opened it up and bread was stuck to the soggy paper which in turn turned the bun soggy. We were there this past Sunday and we were extremely disappointed in the food. My husband had a mushroom burger and I had the beef sandwich. It definitely is not what it used to be. The hamburger was sloppy and I'm sure the mushrooms were from a can and not fresh. The bun also looked like it had been sat on. The beef sandwich was also not flavorful and had a weird taste. Even the fries werent very good and super salty. I asked for hot sauce (to add flavor) and who knows how old that Louisiana hotsauce was and had been sitting there. On Saturday, October 12th we placed our order over the phone for carry out with Megan who is very friendly. All seemed to have gone well until we sat down to eat and discovered our guests Reuben sandwich was nothing but fried corn beef on dry rye bread. Oh wojos how you have disappointed me. To the point where I will NEVER return even for your delicious milkshakes. While you offer a wide variety of amazing milkshakes with unique flavors, the experience I had left me believing there is absolutely no standards when it come to cleanliness or concern for the health of your patrons. My friend and I were raving about how good it was and the milkshakes (how silly I must have looked now). Her boyfriend had never been, but was excited based on our reviews. When we walked in he was a little skeptical because the cooks weren't wearing hair nets, but proceeded on. We ordered burgers which were tasty, however, his had a little surprise... a long, disgusting, dark piece of hair! Absolutely nasty! This was toward the end of the burger so who knows what else he consumed! I already ate mine and felt like gagging at that point. He didn't want to go and complain, he just wanted to leave, but we convinced him to try and get his money back. They offered him credit... CREDIT! I just found a HAIR in your burger... clearly I'm never coming back. Give me my money in cold hard cash! They didn't even offer him full credit for the meal. Just 4 bucks. The cost of a single burger (8.99 for the meal). Since he knew he was never coming back he said he would use the credit for a shake and you know what they did... charged him an additional 1.50 to make up the difference. They didn't even give him a free shake!!! That is awful. I will never return and I hope you won't either. If not for concern for your health because clearly they don't care about cleanliness, then out of principle because that is extremely poor management. The worst I have seen. They didn't even bat an eye at the fact a hair was found in their food. Most places would be appalled but not here. It's just standard operation. I went there to get a beef /sausage combo for lunch. I watched the gentleman making my sandwich pick the beef up with the tongs and then proceed to touch every piece with his fingers while pushing it into the bread. When he put the sausage on, he opened the beef with his fingertips, slid it to the side and then put the sausage in the center. This place is right across the street from Brother Rice High School. They get PLENTY of business from Brother Rice and Mother McAuley. The other day my son who is a good kid not a trouble maker went into Wojo's with his football player teammates and ordered food. While he waited for his food to be prepared the manager asked all of the boys to leave. They were not being rowdy, just standing their looking at the menu talking. She said that if they wouldn't order they must leave. The other boys were still looking at the menu and said they had not decided yet. She told them if they didn't leave then she would call the police. The kids left and went back to Brother Rice and got one of the parents that were waiting for them which was a Cook County Sheriff. He went to Wojo's and asked what they did wrong and the woman said "Were a family-owned restaurant and don't want them sitting in here" They went back and fourth and finally my son said well if you won't let us sit here please refund my money. The woman refunded his money and my son said we won't come back. The manager replied "We don't care if you came back!" My son and his friends left and went to their competitor.
