It's a diner and has diner food. Food is good, portions are large, ambiance is cozy diner. I have been here at just about all times of day throughout my life but finally remembered to make a review this time. There are some obscenely large donuts you can buy at the counter, so make sure to check those out.

Huck Finn's is a Southside institution of what classic diners use to be in the Chicago area. They offer breakfast and lunch dinner meals all day. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day. Madalyn our server did an outstanding job often checking in to see how things were going. I had a bowl of Broccoli soup and my guest had the turkey dinner which came with soup or salad and a desert. He ordered the chocolate custard donut. The meal and donut were delicious. My tip, they do charge an extra fee for credit cards. Give this restaurant a try, you will not regret it!

One of my fav breakfast spots, yet I have never reviewed it. I ate here this past Friday for National Siblings Day. The restaurant is always clean and waitresses are usually friendly. Our food came out super fast. Perfect place for after church, club or mid day eats. They're open 24hrs and offer a truck stop kind of menu. They have the BEST sprinkled vanilla donut. OH, they also have a separate slot machine room for all the gamblers. The only downside is that they don't have Stevia (sugar substitute).

A great neighborhood chain where there's two in Oaklawn and one in the chimney park. When you don't want to cook or do dishes, you can come here and have breakfast on a lazy Saturday morning and it's very busy and you can have a $16 elephant sized donut for your family of 10 people. It's a fun place. The food is OK, but there is a lot of it and for example for 1895 with liver and onions you can get a free soup or salad, a dessert of a doughnut, Jell-O, ice cream, or rice, pudding (your choice) and hashbrowns along with your so there is no wonder why you have a lot of people coming here because you can have food to take home and not have to cook. There is plenty of open parking and there's also a little video gaming room. Friendly staff and fast cooking.

Sundays are obviously always busy Costa The host was super busy that we had to go up to him to put our names on wait list. We got seated after the approximate time told to us (15) but we got seated earlier. Ana was our server and she's spectacular Loved that they play 80's and 90's music very nostalgic Coffee is good Cream of chicken very good Hash brown was meh they were a little mushy Service is very good!! Will definitely come back to this location

I had to drop my Mother in Love off at Midway airport, so on my way home I thought that I would have a little breakfast. Hickman's Finn is the perfect place. They are open 24 hours a day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The are Famous for their donuts; and they have one called the Texas donut . This thing is Humongous ; I've never had one because it's usually sold out. The restaurant is a good size and a semi private area great for larger groups. The ambience is nice; clean and well maintained by the awesome staff. If you didn't know; all of my reviews begin with 5 stars and depending on the cleanliness, customer service, wait time to place an order and receive the food ; the stars begin to drop. My server was Michelle and she was Amazing. My overall experience is Definitely 5 Stars. Think I'll get a few donuts before I go!!!

Ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich with ham and it was delicious! Was fresh and big portion also. Came with fires and a soup would definitely recommend this place. Two thumbs up!

Me + partner wanted breakfast this morning so I thought HFR would fit the bill....they sure did. We haven't been here in years but pass by them all the time. Upon entering a nice older guy greeted us and sad us down. The place was clean and a bit nostalgic. Our server was Sylvia. She was professional, friendly and overly on point with her service. She took care of every detail. She earned her tip and then sum. Good tasting food. Great experience!!!

    Turkey dinner.

Sounds like a plan! Since we're out in Oak Lawn, why not head over to Huck Finn's? It's been a while, and Mom was craving a hamburger, so their special with fries seems like a good deal. We ordered that for her, along with a soup. When the food arrived, though, the hamburger had cheese. Mom isn't a fan, and even though the waitress had noted "no cheese," it seems the cook missed it. We decided to just keep it rather than wait another 15 minutes for a new one. As for me, I ordered the turkey dinner. It wasn't bad, but the gravy was a bit overpowering, kind of turning the plate into a sea of gray. It tasted fine, just a little too much gravy for my liking. I've eaten there before and know it's generally good food for the price. So, if you're looking for a decent meal, Huck Finn's is worth a visit - just be sure to be extra specific when you order!

Breakfast Review! Coming to Huck Finn during Christmas time is always a nostalgic experience for me. I came here with my family for breakfast. Our server, Stephanie, was very bubbly and energetic. She was great about making recommendations, asking questions about how we wanted our orders, and ensured we were checked on often. Our food came out promptly; everything was fresh and hot, big portions, and hit the spot. One pays the bills at the front register and don't pass up their famous donuts. Overall, Huck Finn is a classic diner style restaurant open 24/7. It's a neighborhood staple that doesn't change in quality. Already looking forward to my next visit next year for the holidays.

Who can say no to all day breakfasts? Huck Finn is a pretty good family restaurant with lots of options. I tried their chipotle skillet which with a side of buttered English muffins which was pretty yummy. The service was great too, very friendly staff and the ambience was nostalgic and homey. Would come back again.

Without a doubt, a must try for their baked goods! Absolutely love their apple fritters!!!

Maybe I ordered the wrong item or they had an off night. I decided to get the Philly cheese steak and that was a poor choice. The meal came with soup which tasted wonderful and the service wasn't bad at all. The restroom was clean, but there is a funny smell in the dining area. I don't see myself going back to this location at all.

Staff was really cool, super friendly, just easygoing. I got the two eggs with sausage links and a side of pancakes. The eggs were cooked perfectly sunny side up with that rock yellow yolk running everywhere, just the way I like them. The links were also really good, with a nice smoky flavor. But honestly the pancakes were the whole thing for me. Super fluffy, soft all the way through. Golden on the outside, warm inside. Butter just melted right into them and I had to drown them in syrup, there's no other way. Every bite was soft and sweet without being too much. I almost didn't finish them... almost. I'd come again just for those pancakes.

I felt the entire meal was just OK. The corned beef hash was crumbly and though I was told it was made in house, it didn't seem like it. The hash browns and eggs were cooked fine but lacked seasoning. The pancakes were too thick and even though I paid $3.50 more for blueberries, they were hard to find within the actual pancake. The majority of blueberries were placed on top or around the pancakes. My sister's banana foster French toast was the best thing I tasted, so kudos to the cook for that dish. Otherwise, everything else we felt was just average and the prices were above average. My son's strawberry lemonade was $6, and it was fountain lemonade with a strawberry puree syrup added to the glass. Everything added up quickly to $100 for three of us so watch what you order and add on to your meal. I wouldn't return but it was a nice place aesthetically and location-wise. Also, our server Erica was quite pleasant and attentive.
