Since it was late, the place had several tables filled but wasn't a full house. There's tons of tables for groups of 2+ people, and I got seated immediately. Inside is brightly lit and very casual. With all my usual first visits to Vietnamese restaurants, I got their Thai tea and their grilled beef short ribs rice plate. That tea was standard and took a little while to prepare since staff had a bunch other delivery orders to fill throughout the night. The rice plate itself was tasty; the grilled beef short ribs looked burnt but still tasted as if they had all the seasoning as I like, and the meat still pulled off the bone easily, so it definitely wasn't overcooked. The rest of the plate is very standard but satisfying in my books. It was also quite nice chatting with the staff a little bit too on some of the dishes. This is a place I'd recommend for some good food, and they're also open slightly later compared to most other places around their vicinity, so it's also a decent choice for if you want foods little later than usual. I love that their bun bo hue has a lot of sate in it, and doesn't taste just like a clear broth that some restaurants serve. It even comes with the standard pork hock and pork blood, I know a lot of restaurants may omit that. I can't recommend it enough, it's a must try!! It is a little on the spicy side though if you're sensitive to it, but it was perfect for me. The service here is quick, although the restaurant itself is a bit small. I never had to wait for long though. I'll definitely be back during my annual Seattle trip!

I ordered the pho with steak and meatballs. When I got home, I was surprised by the generous portion! They did not skimp on the steak. More importantly, the flavors were good. My boyfriend got the broken rice with grilled chicken. He thought it was very flavorful and was also impressed by the portion. At 7:15pm I went up to the register to request a refund for the items I never received. I was asked if I had paid my bill (by the same young lady that took my payment). I handed her my receipt & she informed me that my food had been ready. It's unclear why, it was never brought out. I had told her that we had been waiting for an extended period of time to which she agreed. I pointed out that another two person table, that arrived after us, had been served their food before us. The young lady plainly told me that it was out of her control since there were new people in the back. No apology just an excuse. No one took responsibility for the disorganization in the back. I again requested a refund only to hear that she didn't know how to do a refund. I'm the end, I was given the cash for the two items minus the taxes. The menus are new and the name printed on them is completely different from what I remember. I ordered from the new lunch menu and went with the red curry, subbing chicken for tofu and ordering it three-star spicy. It was so good -- rich, flavorful, and perfect for a cold, rainy day.
