Ambiance: Typical plaza strip establishment with ample seating and a bar. Quiet and seemingly clean. Food: Nothing to write home about; unfortunately, the sushi was average. I ordered the Sushi Regular, which comes with 10 chef-picked Nigiri. Sadly, the only fish on that plate that was super fresh was the Tuna. The Yellowtail was very discolored around the edges, had a slight fishy odor, and tasted like it waz about to go bad. The Super White was not as creamy as it typically would be if fresher, but both were still ok to eat. I ordered a Spicy Scallop hand roll, but what came out was a spicy imitation crab hand roll with a couple tiny pieces of something (hard to tell bcs it was minced.) I sent it back bcs who would pay $8 for imitation crab? I do want to point out that this place is trying to pass off Tilapia as Red Snapper. Tsk tsk. It even says it on the menu. Wow. The Miso soup was typical. The Gyoza was flavorless and overcooked. On a positive note, the Spicy & Spicy roll was fantastic. Service: The server/waitress was amazing! Aside from that, this place can do better. No greeting from the chefs when you walk in. When I asked if they would please give me fresh Yellowtail to add to my order, they stated all they had available was what was in the case. BAD! If you have a saavy customer asking for fresh fish, you make it happen bcs it's your opportunity to make things right! The prices do not match the quality here. I had planned on ordering food to go afterward, but changed my mind. This little restaurant has been under several different owners. The sashimi sampler is highly recommend! I always order the spicy tuna and spicy salmon hand rolls, they don't skimp on fish! They offer both Japanese and Chinese options, reasonably priced and friendly service. It's very casual and totally busy with take out. Great location with easy parking. read more

This place used to be a place we drop in because of the service we always received. Tonight was different. My wife wanted a salmon roll and it comes with SPICY SALMON. She asked if she could get the roll but not spicy, but the chef said no. I am sorry, why not? You don't go fishing and catch a red salmon for spicy and a blue salmon for mild! If you have to put two layers of salmon, then explain that to the customer. Doesn't look like we will be back. This place is nice and the food is decent. We will find better places. read more

I ordered "Double Double" which was a combination plate of California and Spicy Tuna rolls. It was beautiful and delicious. I also ordered some Tuna and Yellowtail Nigiri, so fresh and tasty! My wife ordered broccoli chicken and my son ordered sesame chicken, both were very good, visually appealing, and the portions were quite generous! My wife and I were in the area and decided to get an order to go. We placed our order in the restaurant, Mongolian Beef and Cashew Nut Chicken and sat in a half booth right in front of the cash register to wait. It was lunch time and kind of busy, after about 10 minutes we saw a couple of takeout orders come from the kitchen, bagged and sat on their counter behind the register. After about another 10 minutes we realized the only remaining take out bag might be ours. Then the server, who took our order, grab the remain bag and said your order it ready! It sat for at least 10 minutes as she walked by it and ignored it. I was shocked and asked her why it sat for 10 minutes when she knew it was our order. She just said "sorry, it's still hot". My wife was pissed, I walked out with the order, my wife hung back and gave the server some heat, I have no idea was she said, other than we'll never be back. On top of that, the food portions are kind of small for the price. We will never be back!! read more

My husband and I were craving Chinese and decided to give this place a try again since the last time I had it was years ago with my sister. Upon arrival, I was instantly greeted by a young gentleman working the counter and he was so kind. I waited maybe like 5 min to order but I didn't mind as I could see he was the only waiter there working the restaurant (there were 3-4 tables there already). I ordered pretty quickly and was informed it would take about 15-20 min for food to be complete which I did not mind, I just waited in my car for it. Once I got home, my husband and I instantly dug into our food. I ordered two rolls, sweet and sour chicken and broccoli beef. I truthfully can't remember what rolls I got, but the roll I got was good, I wouldn't say great, but I still ate it all and it was honestly a pretty stuffed roll so I can't complain too much. My husband at first was not a fan of his roll until he realized there was a special sauce he needed to use with it, then he stated the sauce made it a lot better. The sweet and sour chicken was delicious and so was the broccoli beef. Entrees were so filling and portion sizes were pretty big honestly. Our boxes were very full so it was for sure worth the money. This thank you thursday goes to sushi and wok. This is an awesome spot for great sushi and Japanese food. The people here are so nice and welcoming! As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a smile and they actually look at you, not just look up and yell. This place is very clean and tidy. There are partitions between each table and the booths have very high backs for more privacy. Our table was smack dab in the middle of the wall of booths. From this point you can see the whole place. It's small, but spacious. They didn't try packing extra tables or booths like you see at big chains. You can tell it's focused on quality not quantity. The food was great! We ordered three rolls and fried rice. The baked roll "Boston" was really really rich! It's a closing up the shop roll for sure. Make sure you have that as your last roll. We also had the dragon and a shrimp roll I don't remember the name of. All of it was very fresh, very well put together and tasty! The crunch was my favorite part. The fried rice was so flavorful. Not salty, flavorful. Possibly the best fried rice I've had in Puyallup. Prices are well. . . . Prices. It's a weird time right now and I'm assuming inflation will be a factor soon. For now though, it's affordable. We were full with a huge box of leftovers and couldn't be happier. If you haven't been here you better try it now. Anywho, let's get to the service. Service fine! The amount of waiting - probably around 30 plus minutes! They are constantly busy. Uber eats , door dash, to gos and diners. We always order to go. Food- The food is edible but lacks flavor. This past time we ordered -Sesame chicken (sucked) -honey garlic chicken (was just ok) The chicken in itself was not crispy but more soggy than anything. Seems like they need to get their batter together or wait until the oil is to temp to throw it in! That plays a huge part in whether your chicken turns crisp ! No I don't want to hear well "we put sauce on the chicken that's why it got soggy" no that's not at all what happened! You can make crisp fried battered chicken, put the sauce on and it still be crisp ! Next we got some chow mein better than the yaki soba but still not good! Never ever get the bbq pork chow mein? They fried the bbq pork!!! It tasted so terrible! I felt bad for my kids because they absolutely hated it. We got a few sushi rolls and they just tasted off this time around. Had the appetizer plate so we could try a few different items in small portions. Loved everything in this plate. Also had to order chicken fried rice and chicken terriyaki. Why has it taken me years to find another restaurant that does it like the old Lieu's in Parkland/Tacoma? It's stir fried. The sauce isn't as delicious as Lieu's, but it's good. Honestly, the service was the shining star here. We came in at their 11am opening time and everyone was extremely friendly. The food on the other hand was mediocre at best, nothing spectacular at all. We ordered the orange chicken kids meal and I'll say the portion sizes were huge but it tasted no different than Panda Express. As for rolls we ordered a rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll, and spicy scallop rolls and none had much flavor at all. All were pretty bland actually. Lastly we ordered the salmon Kama (which is a fried or grilled salmon collar) and it was completely raw in the middle. Definitely nothing impressing, but who knows maybe the Chinese wok side of the menu is better? Probably won't be back to find out though. read more
