The soup is just so good an, I highly recommend it to anyone! The soup is 6:75$ and worth every penny! Service is top notch because, the workers are always very nice and welcoming. They seem to enjoy their job an are very appreciative of every customer. I'm always greeted with a hello the ladies are so cute ja ja People often complain because, there's many times homeless outside asking for help however, they're harmless. Im always willing to give a few bucks (not saying you have to) I'm better off than most and that's a blessing. So, I have no problem with anyone in difficult times. Was craving for some Chinese take-out food and this one had good yelp reviews. It didn't disappoint. This restaurant was located right next to the Post Office between the Donut Hole and Chase Bank. Parking is very limited so you might have to park at the Chase bank and walk over. It's like any other Chinese food place with the food presented behind a glass and the server scooping up the different food items. I decided to get the 2 meat portion with the fried rice and chow mein. I didn't know which meats I wanted so I asked to try some of them. I ended up getting the orange chicken for my first item and the broccoli and beef as my second item. They stuff the box like crazy with mountains of food colliding with each other. All of the food was fresh.The orange chicken was sweet and the beef&broccoli was savory. The fried rice was a bit bland and the chow mein was bit too oily. I also got the hot and sour soup which was actually really good. It is a bit sour but I like it that tangy-ness; it gives it a kick. All in all, this place has decent Chinese food at an affordable price. My plate with 2 meat items was less than $10. They have a self-serve soda machine so you know they aren't stingy. The place was nice and clean and their customer service was on par. Would come here again if I was craving for some Chinese food in West covina. read more

This place is usually busy, long line but they attend you pretty quick. Serving sizes are huge. Great prices Staff is very friendly, we've been here several times and the server already knows what we like. Jalapeño shrimp is great it's made as you order so it's fresh and crispy. Food is always good especially the jalapeño chicken only downside it seems sometimes when in a rush the chefs tend to undercook the bbq or it has to much fat. I was forced to come here since happy wok had a B. The chow mein is good here and the orange chick is also pretty good. The bad thing about this place is the presence of beggers and homeless people in the front. Also their cx service is terrible! The lady helping me out didn't give me any cutleries so I asked for some chop sticks and the lady rolled her eyes and threw them on the bag. I wanted to laugh because it was strange and a bit childish. After that, I dared to ask for some hot sauce and got the same reaction: just throw it in the bag ( I guess she's been listening to fabulous). -_- apologies for the corny reference. If I was able to give 0 stars I would..... I'm not gonna lie and say the food is not good, because it is. And they're pretty generous with the amount of food they serve you. But I've had sooo many bad experience in this place but I keep coming because the food is pretty good and I haven't found a place as good as here. I live in San Dimas and I drive to this location pretty often, or at least I used. One time, I ordered teriyaki chicken and noticed the chicken seemed chewy and a little too pink. My husband that has many years of meat experience, I asked him and he agreed it was raw. So I get up and tell the lady that wears glasses that it was raw. Her being Chinese or whatever she is, the gets upset and says something in her language and then replaces the chicken. No big deal. Second time, same thing. Chicken was pink but it was a little less pink than the previous time... so I just ate it... and I end up getting really sick that same afternoon. I ended up getting food poison. I called the manager (owner) and he said he would replace the meal. But I was tooo scared to come back but he insisted. So about 1-2 months later, I got back. Third time, that day I went back to get my meal for free. The chicken was sooo undercooked again and I tell that lady with the glasses (she says she's a supervisor) and she got really upset saying I was not welcome back anymore because there's always an issue with me. No, the issue is your food is raw!!!! I been there about 50 times and about 10/50 I find your chicken raw. So no, it's not every single moment I go. Fourth time, my husband found a piece of metal scrub (that you use to wash dishes) in his rice. Fifth time, I ordered beef broccoli and they're beef was 80% raw. There was literally raw beef on my plate. I always share with my son. So I immediately got up to tell them. Once again the lady with the glasses says if I want my money back. I said no, I want my food. I'll wait for the newer beef to come out that's actually cooked. After like 20 minutes of waiting for my food... she then says shows me a piece of beef and my beef that was in the plate. and I told her the new beef seems good and she said "no... same beef in your plate. Here" and I showed her the raw beef and she still denies saying it's cooked...... even thought she made a big scene in front of like 10 customers in line, and they all agreed with me saying my beef was raw... she got mad and gave me my money back. I will definitely not come back here. I rather not get sick or have my son get nasty food poisoning for her trying to serve me 80% raw meat... than eating good food. No thank you!!!! read more

Extremely disappointed. I used to regularly visit this location, won't be giving this establishment my business any longer. Went by for lunch, the customer before me asked the server if she could please wash her hands before starting his order. She had helped several customers before him, serving their food and touching income and outgoing cash. They only accept cash. She told him she had already washed her hands. The sink is literally right behind her, she DID NOT wash her hands. After several times of the customer asking her to wash her hands she finally asked him "do you want to smell my hands?" He stood there in shock as did I. She then said "okay, you don't want anything. Next." I asked her why she couldn't just wash her hands per the customers request. She then told me "okay you don't want anything either." Started touching other items around the food. Mind you still hasn't washed her hands. I asked the other server if they rather lose a customer than have her wash her hands. I added the sink is right behind you guys. And the second server said, "she washed her hands." The customer walked out and I followed. If they can't wash their hands, a simple request and necessity at a restaurant then I won't go back. If they are this careless in front of customers I don't want to know what they'll do when no one is looking. Such a shame, let's not forget we're still in a pandemic. I can not get over how disgusting this food was. For some odd reason there was tons of people in line waiting for the food, it must be good. I got a 2 item plate with fried rice, chow mein, teriyaki chicken and orange chicken... Pretty basic... Wrong. This food was so awful and stale I couldn't even finish the fried rice let alone every other item. On top if that, the siracha bottle they have is not filled with the delicious orange-red sauce, it is in fact another hot sauce that is watered down. I work 1 mile from here, but when i am craving that Chinese Food this is my place to go. The people are very nice, there English is decent compared to other Chinese restaurants. Portion are very large. Food is cooked well and there are actual chinese people in the back cooking it (No offense to other places that dont have chinese cooking it) Overall Good place, good food, good people. I'm here at this place about once a month. The staff is still nice and food is just as good as mentioned in my first review. I've been reading other reviews about food poisoning. Since I have been eating here, I have seen no reason to suspect any unsanitary practices at least in the front of the house nor have I experienced any type of food-borne illness. Before we post something negative about a business that's just trying make a living, please make sure that it is the establishment's fault and not YOUR fault which is most likely to happen as the public is less trained/aware of risks of cross-contamination or temperature danger zones and whatnot. But if you do experience some type of illness, contact your local health department. They can determine if it was the restaurant's fault or not. If it's the restaurant's fault there will be more than one household getting sick. read more

I'm giving this place four stars, not because of the food, but because of the service. Food is probably a solid three stars, most of the time 3 1/2, but what separates Wok Express from the rest of the mom and pop American Chinese fast food places is the friendliness of the staff there, at least every time I've gone. The lady that has served me on my two or three visits always had a smile on her face. She must be a good hearted lady two because on my last visit, a transient walked in to buy a soda. He's either grouchy or crazy because he was a little mean with his tone, but they must have some kind of rapport because she was very nice to him and gave him a little container of something, either fried rice or noodles, which was pretty cool in my book. Portions are HUGE. I've gotten a combo and bowl, and I learned my lesson with how big the portions were the first time, which is why I got the bowl the second time. Both times, I probably overate. Since I've only had mushroom chicken and teriyaki chicken, I can honestly say I wasn't disappointed with either, and it eats really well the next day when nuked. Fried rice is always hit and miss at most places, but their noodles were good both times I went. CASH ONLY, which sucks when you are so used to carrying and ATM card and no greenbacks. read more

Huge portions for all under $10. They give a lot of meat (especially teriyaki chicken). This place is cash only, but that keeps the prices so low. 2 meat dish with chow mein came out to be about $7. You can eat half then save the remaining half for later. It'll still taste good after reheating it in the microwave, too. They have a self serve soda fountain here, so if you like refills, you can sit in. Decent Chinese food at a bargain price! Go here when you're super hungry.
