Charley Philly Steak is one of my favorite place to stop when I shop at West Covina. Feels like the portion and menu has changed. The chicken used to be thicker and now thin slices. The lettuce has some brown spots, not too fresh. Fries ok. The strawberry lemonade is still good and refreshing! Service was fast just didn't understand the dude who has a strong accent. Had to make him repeat a dew times lol The food court is pretty hot and humid. Retailers are saving on AC ~~ I was sweating while enjoying my lunch. It is located in the Food Court of Plaza West Covina. I ordered here as haven't had their Philly cheesesteak in such a long time. Service was perfunctory but efficient. It's a walk up kiosk to place order and pick up. There are many tables and chairs for dine in but the place gets packed on the weekends. The high ceiling and glass windows lend brightness to the area. The original cheesesteak was delicious, I prefer the bread to be more toasted. I don't go to the mall that often but I'd definitely visit Charley's again when I do. read more

Get the regular good old beef cheesecake and thank me later. The portion size was perfect for me. I used to love Charley's You can really see food-flation in the size of the sandwich. It's noticeable smaller with way less meat. I can't say too much about it, The sandwich was decent it wasn't amazing but it was a pretty good meal. I wasn't over stuff or left hungry. There wasn't a wait so I got my sandwich pretty fast. Always nice to not have to travel very far to get a good Philly cheesesteak. I've always loved eating these types of sandwiches, and I think Charleys have pretty good ones here. Add some bacon to your cheesesteak, and it'll be even more thrilling to your taste buds. Service is quick. I love Charleys Cheesesteaks and have visited many of their locations, usually inside mall food courts. The West Covina location is no exception, located on the second floor of the mall, within the food court. I can usually count on their food, and almost always get a regular Philly Cheesesteak combo, which includes fries and a drink. My experience at this location was a little off putting as the two young ladies working had a very blasé attitude and seemed like they'd rather be anywhere else but there (2 stars). That being said, the food was very good (4 stars), greatly improved over my very first visit here some years ago. The rolls are always fresh, they don't skimp on the meat, and I love their seasoning salt. I'd return when visiting the mall and give them another try. read more

I come here often with no problems. I enjoy the food. Today when I ordered my Cheesesteak I ordered it without the vegetables (mushrooms, bellpeppers) When I picked up my order it had lettuce and tomatoes on it like a subway sandwich. I feel like I didn't get the Charleys experience with these add-ons which are not listed as ingredients for the Philly cheesesteak. read more

I was hungry after I did some shopping at the mall then I walked by to the food court and saw Charley's old school cheese steak poster and I was craving for it. However, sadly to say that the poster looked more appealing than the food came out. (I know it's always like that, that's marketing lol) The one I got was small old school steak $8.29, the portion was a bit smaller and the beef was a bit chewy and overcooked. I like they put a lot of cheese on it but the bread was a bit soggy than crispy (they did toast the buns). Charley's is my go to spot whenever I shop at this mall. The consistency is what I love, because I'll always be ordering the exact same thing and not once has it tasted bad. Now this is located in the mall so they are always clean in the area that they are stationed. The tables are always clean to. The service is okay today the person taking orders walked away as soon as it was my turn no " Give me a moment" or " One sec" or even " I'll be right back" . Then they took a min to come back and the girl was distracted while taking my order she was watching the person making the food. That's the only reason Im not giving 5 stars. I feel like customer service is important but if they aren't rude or terrible and the food is good then they probably just need a refresher or they just had a really long day. This place is awesome. The lemonade is the standout thing for me here. Specifically the peach lemonade. So fresh and light, not too sugary. Love it. I went to buy a sandwich here, im lookong at my sandwich because i got a kids meal, im here looking at the sandwich thinking its small i shuould get a bigger one.. and as im stadinh there i hear paulina apparently the manager say..dont you just hate when people are just staring like if they've never seen anyone cook... i could not believe i herad this as a customer and said excuse me that comment you just made was it towards me?? I've always wanted to try food here when I was younger so I was very happy to try it the first time. Cheese and bacon gourmet fries are always crispy and they're very generous with the bacon ;)). I was craving a sandwhich but didn't want the typical Subway or Quizno's that I normally get. So I headed for Charley's and even though they didn't have a large selection, the selection they did have looked yummy. So we waited in line which seemed like forever but it was only because the people in front of us was taking so dang long to order. I mean there isn't much to choose from so what is the freak'n hold up?! But once we finally ordered and paid, they were pretty fast in cooking our order so that was a good thing. I ended up just getting a simple ham and cheese with mushroom sandwhich. My boyfriend got their famous Philly Cheesesteak. My food was pretty good. I think next time I'll order something else though like their Philly Cheesesteak or Teriyaki Chicken sandwhich. It looked more appetizing than my simple ham and cheese. That was my bad! We also shared a "gourmet' fries order which is fries with cheese and bacon bits. It was pretty damn good and this is coming from a chick who normally does not like fries. My only complaint is the price. I think it's a bit pricey for what you get. I feel they should knock down the price by a buck or two. My sandwich alone was $4.99 not including drink or fries. That's another $2.50 or so. I mean I know it's just mall food, but that's exactly why I feel they need to bring the price down a bit. I could get a bigger sandwhich at Subway for the same price. I came to the mall to buy food for my daughter. The cashier who took my order just came back from using the restroom, and she didn't wash her hands prior to assisting me. I noticed that the lettuce was spoiled. It was RED which is not normal. The protein was under portioned. She gave me less chicken and less fries than usual. I asked her for fresh lettuce, and she said they don't have more lettuce. She sounded annoyed when I only asked her a simple question. When my sandwich was being prepared, she asked "What do you want?" She had a horrible attitude. I asked to speak to the manager, and she said he didn't speak English. He's not going to understand a word I say. I saw that the rest of the lettuce was not red. So how is it that the only lettuce they had left was red in the sandwich?! She threw away the red lettuce and tossed the bread so carelessly. I was so frustrated! I have never had an issue like this at Charley's. This cashier did not have a name tag, and I didn't ask for her name. The receipt listed a different employee's name. She was very rude. The station was dirty. There was trash all over the counter. Young lady who should be taking orders rather chat with her boyfriend or some guy who works at foot locker for a very long time while customers wait and listen to there small talk. I waited as long as I could before I decide to go next door to another place. With such poor customer service I will avoid Charley's. Food is good service is very very poor. So I took my brother here hoping for a pretty bomb tasting gourmet sub.. boy was the food subpar, and the service even worse. I should have known better. I should have taken him to Jersey Mike's at least or something. It being located in the food We got the pepperoni steak bomb combo that obvi came with fries a drink. I asked the lady how much more would the fries be if we upgraded to gourmet fries instead.. and clearly she said 1.99, so then I agreed to upgrade it. Finally, I said "doesn't it come with bacon and such?" and all he said was "oh you want bacon in it?" UMM HELL YEAH I want freaking bacon in it, isn't it what I paid for? Pretty unbelievable. after that incident.. I began looking at my receipt and noticed that she charged me a dollar extra, I was like wait.. kinda suspicious. so I came back to talk to her and asked her why I was charged a dollar extra (I know this is such an Asian move, but hey a dollar extra is still a dollar extra). Her response was that she told us that it was 2.99, when she did say it was 1.99. Honestly if she provided me with the correct information I would have been okay with it.
