My husband made us reservations to Wokcano on Thursday for Saturday night at 6pm. We arrived early (around 5:30) and they said it might be a bit of a wait since we were early (which we expected). They sat us down less than 10 minutes later and our waiter was at our table almost immediately after! It was amazing! My husband got a Sapporo (which was HUGE and only $10) and I got a drink (which I could only drink half of because it was stronger than I anticipated) and we got the "Love Boat for 2" meal, with Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna as an appetizer. The meal comes with miso soup and salad for both people (the miso is amazing and the salad has a dressing that is to die for!). There was so much sushi and the appetizer was a generous portion. Yo! This is still, after so many years, one of my favorite places. I've been to other Wokcanos and this one is clearly the best. The vibe created by the staff from the managers, to the servers, to the bartenders! Devin makes a bomb Japanese Old Fashion, perfect combination of ingredients, and he's consistent! Service is fast enough, food is on point. Spicy Seafood Soup is my new favorite. And they are open until 2 every night... In Santa Clarita, many places close at 10 or midnight. Had an awful experience at Wokcano Valencia tonight. I'm visiting my home town from out of state, and we decide Wokcano is the place to go. 7 friends and I are seated and treated well by the wait staff for the most part, and all of us are carded for the drinks we order. The youngest among us is 24 years old, so it's understandable that we were carded. A while later another couple of my friends join us, one of them is a 26 year old veteran with a military ID. He is carded, and the waiter takes a long look at his ID, and then without saying a word, disappears from the table with it. This is a huge red flag for us, since our friend has secret clearance for his job and his ID being compromised could cost him his career. After an uncomfortable amount of time the waiter, who was admittedly just doing his due diligence, emerges with the manager. A tall, light haired, bearded man approaches my friend and then accuses him of having a fake ID. Before my friend can explain the situation, he says "We won't be serving you tonight." My friend then tries to present another valid identification, to which to manager relays his earlier statement and then walks away. I chimed in as he was walking away, and in so many words, told him he was in the wrong. He then told our party of 10 to pay our tab immediately and leave. Which we did, without argument. On the way out I commented that he should learn what a military ID looks like, to which he replied, exasperatedly, "IT'S A FAKE ID!" In unison, our entire replied "It's not fake!" He then finally allowed my friend to explain the situation, to which he replied "We don't take out of state IDs." 3 people at the table had Arizona IDs. My friend's is from Texas, specifically from Fort Worth, where he served. read more

Delicious! Our favorite dish was the honey walnut shrimp and we asked for some brown rice on the side. A MUST TRY!! We also ordered a Garden salad with a scoop of spicy tuna on top. THERE WAS A HAIR IN MY FOOD. so let's start with the good : the wait time was only 20 minutes in a Saturday night. And it's not like it was empty there was a decent amount of people. The server was polite and waited us on a timely manner and didn't badger us. The amount of food that you get is a lot when you order like the noodles or rice plates or the meat plates. The bad: if you get a meat plate it doesn't come with rice. That's extra. Which I find stupid. The. The prices it was $50.26 for 2 plates of food and one appetizer. And then... the hair. I order the pad Thai. And when I went to take my second bite I saw that on one of my shrimps was a black hair. I told the server and he had my food remade. Kinda disappointed they didn't offer me at least a discount for that gross mistake. Will I go back. No most likely not. read more

Wokcano was the first high quality, late night, Westside L.A. compatible restaurant and bar in Santa Clarita open until 2 a.m. This was clutch for L.A. players. They also have a high quality menu, staff, and environment. And they are replicating the normal pre-covid experience really well, which is good for the soul. Here's to a good meal. read more

After driving from San Francisco, down highway 5 bumper to bumper The day after Thanksgiving, a dear friend of mine highly recommended wokcano to us. We were thrilled to have a destination and an Asian fushion at that. Sounded delicious. We walked in after the zillion hour hwy 5 drive, in bumper to bumper holiday traffic for hours, to a much anticipated meal. I had to plug into my phone to get us to the final 1 hour drive to get directions home. The manager came over and said to me " we just can't let you plug in your phones due to " insurance reasons". Coming in the door, the customer service was truly off putting, left, and never went back. It's a shame because there are plenty of restaurants in the area where the food is delicious and that's that. Will never go back. Basically the food, and customer service is everything. Shame because that could've been a destination, where we drive many times a year, from LA and San Francisco and San Francisco and back every year. read more

The manager here is absolutely awful. Never greeted us when we came in and was the worst face to see when we entered the restaurant. The waitress was nice but she was terrible at her job. Didn't ask us if we needed drinks until 23 minutes after we sat down. If she was swamped that would be different but she was just busy at the register checking tips. Ordered vegan kung pao chicken entree and shrimp tempura roll over the phone. My wife is vegan and pregnant and theres not a whole lot open in scv at night. After hearing my total was $40 over the phone, i was surprised at how much the total was. I decided to ultimately go through with it, expecting a nice meal especially when my wife is pregnantqnd hungry. Fast forward 20 minutes later, i drag myself across town to pick up my order. I get back to my house and go to eat my roll and i open the package and its 5 small pieces of avacodo wrapped in rice with a little sauce and one piece of shrimp on each end. I stared in disbelief and thought they must have got my order wrong or forgot the other half, right? Wrong. I spent $40 on a 5 piece roll and a single entree, you would think you were getting a good sized portion for the outrageous pricing. I decided that i wasnt happy and called up the establishment. I spoke to manager on duty and explained how i was expecring more for what i paid. We didnt even get rice for the kung pao...they agreed to refund me. The problem is i had to drive all the way back across town, wasting my gas and time just to get my money back. To be fair, i didnt ask how many pieces came in the roll, i just expected a lot more for the price. I dont mind going out and spending money, but the least you could do is provide some value and serve a decent portion if you're gonna charge so much. I was able to get my money back for the roll, and because my pregnant wife was hungry i decided to let her eat her $27 meal that didnt even come with rice. Do your customers a solid and either decrease your prices to match the portion size or increase your portion size to match the pricing. There is no one in their right mind who could legit think they are being fair charging $27 for a small dish and $12 for what essentially was a 5 piece avacado roll with two small pieces of shrimp. There is a major disconnect here. read more

This place is great! Justine was our server and she was friendly, efficient and very attentive to us. The food was fabulous, large portions and very tasty too. We had the perfect table in the bar area so saw everyone who walked in and also all the workers walking around. The manager - Michael was very attentive to all the tables and I called him over to say how great his restaurant is and how Justine was a fabulous server.
