I love the food here! This restaurant is close to my job so I often order Uber eats for lunch. The green mango salad and kimchi are tied for what I love the most. The green mango salad has glass noodles, so it makes the dish very filling. It's bursting with flavors, and hits all the notes...salty, sweet and savory. The kimchi is outstanding! So much so that I no longer order the side but opt for the Jarred option, it's bursting with flavor. The cabbage has a wonderful texture, it's a perfect balance. The curry puff was good, I would have preferred a more pronounced curry flavor but the flakiness made up for it. The orange chicken was good, I would have liked more sauce but it was still very good. All in all it was a great meal!

The brisket on the curly q fries was really good. I'd recommend them. The brisket eggrolls were a bit of a disappointment though. Should be served with bbq sauce as opposed to an Asian dip. Service was cool. I placed my order easily and food was cooked to order. Place was a vibe and full of people on their way to the Astro's game.

Wokk Fried Rice Bowl w/ Pork Belly and Brisket Eggroll

I first discovered Wokker when they had a location at The Conservatory. Sadly, they are no longer there, but was happy to see they have this location as well. What started off as a food truck has grown into a couple of actual restaurants and they still have the truck too from what I understand. What they offer here is Asian food with some southern fusion. Think Asian bases like pad Thai or fried rice and infuse it with some southern BBQ. That's exactly what I got. I went with fried rice bowl with pork belly. The rice was topped with tender, smoky pork belly, along with kimchi and a fried egg. The melding of flavors was awesome. Every component of the meal was done right. We also shared an order of the briskey eggrolls. This too was a flavor bomb. I thought the brisket would be dried out inside a fried eggroll wrapper, but it was very good. They used the thin wrappers used for spring rolls, so it was crispy, but not too thick to where you lose the flavors of the filling. Overall, this is a great, fast casual spot serving up great fusion food. I shall be back!

Casual Asian fusion brick and mortar spot on the north side of town within the loop. It's not the best part of town but rent is probably cheaper here. You order up front at the counter and get served your food fairly quickly. Service is friendly and fast; they have only one front of house staff. We got the chicken green dumplings (3/5), bonito brussell sprouts (2/5), and brisket curly fries (4/5) for apps. I wasn't a big fan of the dumplings as they were slightly on the bland side. The Brussels did not have a great flavor and the sauce could've been a bit less salty. The curly fries with brisket tasted like a food truck special and was very filling and the brisket is good as well. For the main, I got the brisket pad Thai (4/5) and a Vietnamese coffee (3.5/5). The pad Thai actually worked decently with the brisket, which was moist and flavor wise, and a step above Rudy's but not quite a Truth brisket. The pad Thai tastes like a slightly sweeter version of a pad Thai usually served at Thai spots. Overall, it's a fast casual fusion spot and they have some solid options for a quick lunch.

Brisket is definitely the thing to get when you come here. It's juicy, it's flavorful and mixes with Asian flavors surprisingly well. The service was good, nothing over bearing or great but just right. The decor and maneki neko cowboy is just right for what this restaurant provides. The only reason why I couldn't give them a 5th star is because the rice bowls were genuinely terrible. Plain rice that was so oily with a runny egg on top. The chicken and the shrimp were both horrible neither of us finished our food. A small upside is the kimchi which was pretty good.

I have to give this place a solid 5 because the food and service was excellent. Yes it's bare bones as far as decor goes but it is what it is. The food here is excellent. Popped in because I live in the neighborhood and I did not want to venture far. Service was friendly and attentive. It is a walk up to the counter, place your order and your food would be brought out to you establishment. It was a Sunday and the place was not packed. We started with the jalapeno bites. They were so good we ordered two more helpings to go. I had the orange chicken bowl (so good). The grilled onions and peppers where a nice compliment to the dish. My friend ordered the fried rice bowl and it was very delicious. The food came out fresh and made to order. I was really impressed with this place and was impressed by the quality of the food. I will definitely be back. There is a little speakeasy inside called Méo. One of the employees showed us the secret entrance because I asked. It was closed at the time but can't wait to have cocktails there. I will definitely come back here.

Do Not Eat here! I'm still haven't received a refund for the contaminated food. This is not acceptable. There was some type of plastic/paper mixed in with the brussel sprouts and orange chicken. Eating this caused me to have stomach pains and diarrhea. I choked and vomited the food back up.

The food is fresh and amazing and has a great spice and flavoring. I love the brisket egg rolls and their pork belly rice! The cashier was super friendly and was very informative about all three menus and their times. I love the decorations and the cool updated decor!

Oh man, I stumbled across the place by accident and I am soooo glad I did. I was grabbing food while on my way to my brothers for our Saturday family hang out. This food is so good! We ordered two of the fried rice bowls one pork belly and one brisket and my brother had the shaken beef. I specifically had the brisket and it's so delicious it tastes candied and it's cooked to perfection it compliments the egg in the bowl. In true little sister fashion I ate a piece of food out of everyone's bowl while unpacking the to go bag and can confirm all food was delicious haha. I didn't dine in but the person at the register was very nice and my food was ready quickly. Highly recommend trying this place out!

I'd say solid place for a quick lunch, but their food does better as a food truck than a standalone store. It is a fast-casual Texas-Asian fusion restaurant that is spacious, but the furniture is pretty bare bones. It is a nice concept, but the execution is not inventive or new. Cowboy katsu- 6.5/10 Fried pork katsu in a BBQ/teriyaki sauce over a bed of rice topped with pickled onions, green onions, and a sunny-side up egg. I prefer my eggs more fried, but the yolk was nice and runny. The katsu could be more fried, crispy, and flaky. Sauce seemed like a pretty basic mixture of BBQ and ketchup. Pork belly fried rice- 6.8/10 I love the fried rice, it was savory, salty, sweet, not too oily. Pork belly is juicy and chewy; it's hard to get pork belly wrong! Feels like a homecooked cheat meal I make for myself haha. Bourbon pepper steak- 6/10 Steak and peppers were good, but no special twist or anything that stood out. You can get this at your local Chinese takeout for about the same price with a much larger serving. Not sure if I would return because the recipes are basic, nothing really wow'd me, but nothing wrong for a relatively cheap bite.

I went to the actual restaurant when I thought it was going to be a food truck? The presentation was pretty, but the food did not taste good. At all. The "fried rice" was sweet? The pork was very fatty... My friend had the shrimp which tasted a bit better, but not amazing. I would not come back for the food. The restaurant was nicely decorated, though. read more

First time I noticed Wokker Food Truck was at a community event back in 2015 called Yelp Houston Photo Exhibit. I remember vividly as it was a hot day seeing Wokker Food Truck in front of Spring Street Studio. https://www.yelp.com/biz/yelp-houston-photo-exhibit-houston Few of us came out hungry after partying in the air-conditioned galleries. Depp, Maria, Gail and I were attracted by the cooking aroma and walked toward the truck. But the line was really long. So, we waited and regretted. Because some popular items were sold out. The only things we could order were the shareable (appetizers). We ordered whatever we can to fill our empty tummies. We shared our orders with each other. Once I got my Bonito Brussels Sprouts, I didn't want to share, because it was so delicious. Then, I said to myself, I've gotta catch them again. After reading the history on their website, I started to follow their schedule to see where they go. Next time we met was at a charity event called The Great Banh Mi Cook-Off in October 2017. I love their creativity in Asian fusion cuisine. I'd never imagine how versatile Wokker's signature pork belly can be on a French roll. https://www.facebook.com/events/120943718517810 My recent encounter was at HAAPIFest early this month. Wokker Food Truck fed dozens of hungry folks after a food-related screening called "Fermented". Our meals were packed in a bento box to preserve the beauty of their crafts. This place makes a great selection for lunch, for you don't want to go crazy but you need something that's just different. Smoked chicken and rice bowl sealed the deal for me. Food: Great taste, no fillers which I appreciate just meat and rice or vegetables. We had the Brisket Egg Rolls Shaken Beef Popcorn Chicken Brisket Fries All were incredible, everything tasted different with no muddled flavors. Price: was relatively expensive (not a cheap way) for a some what smaller portion of food. Because everything was so incredible, can't complain honestly. It's worth it, the quality of meat was great all around. Staff: incredibly nice, fast, and polite people that seemed excited to be at help us out which we appreciated! read more

They're the sweetest! I placed an order of pork belly fried rice on Doordash at 12:30AM last night. My order arrived so quickly in under 20 minutes, well packed, and so delicious! Love the pork belly and kimchi combo! The best part was their "free gift" surprise of brisket eggroll. I didn't order it but ended up finishing them all. So glad I got to try this place out. My sister swears that their Brisket Fries are amazing. So last Wednesday, against my diet's will, I had to stop by. They come to campus sometimes and I always get tempted by how good it looks, but I had to stay strong and eat healthy. That went down the drain when I saw someone walk by with their Pork Belly Fried Rice. I ended up ordering the Pork Katsu instead since it is their limited-time menu item and it sounded really good. It came with pork katsu on a bed of white rice, some sauce, and a fried egg on top. It was delicious! Definitely made the right decision. The guys who were working were super nice as well. I've been to other food trucks and it feels like they're forced to be there to take your order and make your food. The guys at Wokker seems more genuine and sweet. Portion sizes are on the smaller side while the prices are on the higher side. I had the smoked chicken fried rice. Food quality and flavor was good. It seems this started as a food truck and now brick and mortar. Overall not super impressed but it ain't bad either. read more

I don't leave reviews but when I do it's for here so nobody dies without having the best foodie experience of life. I'm simply talking about the eggplant dish .. it's seggs.. it's life. It's everything you would never think eggplant could be. It's sinful . Damn. I have food to cook here for lunch but f that. Im having eggplant for lunch again lol. Last time they had a crazy deal. Buy 1 get 1 of anything for free I believe. Those types of deals usually say somethings wrong or they're trying to get people in the door or what not I learned that from being in the restaurant industry myself or 10+ years, but in this case, that is not what I meant, it meant ! This truck was parked in the back lot of the Axelrad bar and I am so happy to have come across it while at happy hour with friends. The food is delicious and they have an allergy free menu to help you navigate what is safe to eat. The egg rolls are gluten free, which doesn't always happen, so that was a pleasant surprise! They were crispy and filled with diced brisket that was super flavorful. It came with a sweet and sour dipping sauce on the side that was a perfect balance to the saltiness of the egg rolls. For my main course I ordered the brisket pad thai and that was the best decision ever. The noodles were soft and had plenty of sauce so they weren't dry. They were topped with thinly sliced, tender brisket that was to die for. The combination together was extremely salty though, I was chugging water the rest of the night. But the dish was so perfect, topped with crushed peanuts, bean sprouts and a lime to squeeze on top. I was so pleased with this meal and will definitely be searching for the next stop this food truck makes! read more

I actually went to Truck Yard Houston to try this place out. I really like the idea of the Texan-Asian fusion. We had their brisket eggrolls, cowboy Katsu, and fried rice. Everything was cooked perfectly. The texture was on point and the size portion is pretty good for one person. I had the cowboy Katsu and couldn't finish it. The only reason I gave three stars is because the taste is not my style. The BBQ sauce was way too strong and didn't flow with the egg. The brisket eggrolls we're good, but the brisket were a bit too sweet in my opinion. If you absolutely just like BBQ, I would definitely try this place out. It's just not for me. :/ read more

Them Brussels sprouts though we're delicious. Really, if this place was closer to my house I would hit them up everyday! Too bad, it's all the way in the Heights which is an hour drive from me. I'd say I had an orgasm in the mouth after battling these greens. Dang, good. Parents are y'all's having trouble with getting your babies to eat they veggies?! Let them smack on these crispy, sweet, baby cabbage rolls. Oh, and don't let me forget those brisket eggrolls. Brisket you say? I'd tell you what I've never had this before and man was it yummy in my tummy! Staff is dang friendly--guys just of smiling at you while you eat their creations. I'd be grinning hard too! My first review on the food trucks. And it is a good one !!! Shocked by the presentation and the taste, also the friendly service. I guess the food truck can give the real restaurant run for their money. Shaken beef was marinated in perfect harmony of spices and sauce. The beef is cook to the perfection, just thinking about it make my mouth watering. The presentation with fry egg on top, and the vegetables were grilled to the perfection. The bento box was really good and the rice was delicious. I can not wait to try other items on the menu. I am a fan of this food truck, and recommend this food truck to anyone. read more

While I can't deny that the food here is really delicious, I wouldn't go out of my way to try to drive super far for them. I would wait until they are in your area and then try them. The Pork Belly Fried Rice is one of my favorite dishes there. The great thing about this food truck is that everything is made to order and always fresh. They were hanging out right next to HTX Fan Tavern near Minute Maid Park. I went to an Astros playoff game, we had a few drinks before and wanted to grab some food. I was so glad to find this truck, the service was really good, the food took a bit to come out even though there wasn't a line, the game just began when I ordered though. I got the Pickin' Chickin', the concept was really cool, using a pick to eat your food, the order came with curly fries, fried onions, and chicken nuggets in cajun sauce. The food was delicious, fresh and hot. Definitely recommend this truck to anyone, but I wish I knew about them earlier, since they have been around for a while. The presentation in a takeout container with multiple item and pick puts them over the top. read more

Not nearly as good as they used to be in 2022. Idk I can just really taste the lack of quality and I don't think the price is worth it. Also, $9 for obviously frozen tiny egg rolls? Today's food truck at the office was Wokkers. I had high expectations from reading reviews and looking at their menu. However, I went small and ordered just the Brisket egg rolls and Tamarind Spicy Ribs. The brisket egg rolls were definitely the highlight of my lunch as the meat was tender smoky beef brisket fried in a delicious crunchy spring roll(lumpia) wrapper. I knew these were going to be good. Then comes the spicy ribs. Now don't get me wrong they were indeed fall off the bone however they were very small and order came with just two which consisted of enough meat of 1.5 chicken wings along with curly fries. The flavor of the ribs was okay however I couldn't ever find the "spicy" part. Perhaps if I had 1 more rib, I might not feel as jilted. Regardless, I'll give these guys another chance next time I see them and perhaps try the Pork Belly Fried Rice! Give them a shot, for true read more

Order taker let our order sit for 10 min till it was cold. In there defense there was a lot of orders coming in from cidercade and you have to strike while the iron is hot. Money for value simply wasn't there. The dumplings looked frozen and the brisket fries certainly had fries and Mayo. There's even a chance that they made contact with some brisket at some point. read more

Such unique takes on common menu items. First time here..I can't imagine not returning SOON! We tried the brisket pad Thai, veggie crispy egg rolls, chicken fried rice, and brisket curly fries- nothing was even close to disappointing. The fountain cola was also delicious. Local canned beers available- love that! The gal working the counter when we arrived was so sweet, helpful, patient and quick to offer solutions to altering our spice preferences- she even charmed our toddler with a sticker!We went between lunch and dinner, so it was nice and quiet. Everything appeared very clean. 10/10 read more

All of the beef cuts tasted very similar, so the chicken ended up being my favorite. On the positive side, as a party of three, including a ravenous teenager, we were able to eat to our hearts' content for under $100, which feels like a pretty reasonable deal these days. One thing I do miss, though, is when the grill used to be greased. I understand the fire hazard concerns, but without it, the meats stick far too easily now, making cooking less enjoyable and affecting the overall experience.
