The service here was great. I went during lunchtime and the server checked on me continuously and even packed up the leftovers for me. The atmosphere is spacious-there's bar seating and several tables spread out throughout the restaurant. You get a kinda old fashion modern diner vibe here. The menu is pretty short and a drink menu on the back. I tried the waffle and cheeseburger fried rice. The waffle is savory and it's almost like one of those Asian scallion pancakes except it's a waffle. The cheeseburger fried rice was a unique item it definitely tasted like a deconstructed cheeseburger with rice. However, I don't think this is for my taste. It wasn't bad it just didn't stand out for me.

We made a reservation through OpenTable and we had free parking about a block away by a church. But there's also free and limited street parking right out front. The staff were very sweet and quick. The food was done quickly too. The decor was interesting and gave a diner feel. This is a very casual place and they serve family style. Good for groups and for those who want a soft introduction to fusion foods. We ordered their half wedge salad, cheeseburger fried rice, a dou milkshake but it was more of a drink, bamboo, martini, savory, scallion, waffles, and egg foo young. The wedge salad was interesting, it's like if you used eastern ingredients to re-create the same western dish. The cheeseburger fried rice was basically a deconstructed cheeseburger with rice instead of bread. The egg foo young reminds us of étouffée. Our favorite was, of course, the savory scallion waffle we really enjoyed it, but would like to have more scallions in it. The drinks were OK. I thought I ordered a milkshake, but it was more of an actual drink so that was a little confusing. The bamboo martini was interesting in a neutral way. Overall, the dishes tasted average, but the presentations were nice.

Solid spot! Food is delicious, spacious interior with a funky design and it gives a true diner vibe. Service was wonderful, sever recommended dishes and everything was so good. Will be back to order the same things again! What I ordered all 10/10: Wedge Salad Savory scallion waffle with orange fried chicken Beef fajita chow fun

Great vibe restaurant in the Heights. The food was solid and so was service. Their orange chicken and waffle was fire! We also got the cheeseburger fried rice and it was good. Both plates were tasty and filling. My only knock is that you are definitely paying "Heights" prices for the dishes. Would definitely still recommended to others, but I sadly probably won't be back immediately given the higher price point.

Was so excited to try this place!!! It's been on my list! We had early reservations and they worked out perfectly. Started with the scallion waffle which was such a mind play!! Savory when you expect sweet. The sambal butter makes it!! Use liberally. The steak frittes cooked to perfection and the rice cakes were so good and SO SPICY!! Amazing. Pandan ice cream was a great way to end the meal. I wanted the sundae but it was so big. The lovely waitress made it with just in scoop and it was devine!! The only critiques I can give is when it's just two people, don't seat them at a booth for 4-6 people. Be mindful.

The service was great and the restaurant was very cute/well thought out! The food for me did not hit the mark. They had unique fusion dishes but only a few items stood out to me. I'd recommend trying it but I personally don't know if I'd come back. I loved the scallion pancake waffles and the drinks. The steak frites were a bit more undercooked than medium rare but the fries were yummy. The hamburger fried rice tastes exactly like it sounds

This place was so reminiscent of old-style Hong Kong tea cafes, it was very nostalgic. We tried a lot on the menu - my favorites were the Hong Kong-style French toast, chilled noodles, and the char siu benedict. The dou milk shake was very good as well. Service was very attentive. We will definitely be back.

There are so many great things to say about A+S that I don't know where to start. Our server was so attentive and kind. Even the floor manager pitched in when we closed our check before ordering dessert. The food is on another level. We had Beef Fajita Chow Fun, Orange Chicken and a scallion waffle (omg), root beer floats, and a brown butter cookie. Everything was cooked to order and fresh! Allergies are no problem here! The restaurant was about half full, but the conversation level was low and talking was easy. The decor is very homey and classy.

Went to Houston last weekend and was very impressed by all the food. We came here for brunch on a Sunday. Service was so accommodating and friendly and even though we did not specifically request a booth on our reservation they were able to give us a booth. We ordered: Scallion waffles: love loved. The butter was really umami and loved the texture of this. Would eat again if lived in town. Noodles: it was just okay. The noodles themselves had a great texture but I think the description of the dish made us think it was going to be more acidic and overall other than the mushrooms in it it lacked flavor. Needed to go harder on the sauce. Congee: loved loved loved. Pickled vegetables were great in it. Was so umami and happiness inducing. Crab omelette: it wasn't my thing but husband and sister in law devoured and loved it. Overall I would come again! Wish I lived in Houston

Finally had the chance to check out this new Asian American diner! What a interesting take! Had their savory scallion waffle with sambal honey butter, one of their most popular items and it did not disappoint! A great mix of savory with a hint of sweetness to it. My brother and I loved it. Theres a distinct aftertaste that surprised us so much. Ill have to try the addition of the chicken next time but overall I think this dish was worth it. Kim-Chilaquiles - wow really love the fusion here. Kimchi and chilaquiles, both two items I love. Large portion, with a side of avocado. This was easily a favorite between us as well. Really worth! Breakfast bling - green chorizo, eggs, scallion pancake, spicy crema - wasn't a huge fan of this one. It was fairly bland scallion pancake that was essentially a crispy tortilla that I think could have used more spicy crema spread out with more chorizo & eggs. The toppings on this is VERY thin. The ambiance was lovely inside, I think they nailed that asian inspired dinner feel. Since Lunar new years was more recent they still had some Lunar new year lanterns up. The prices here are a bit higher as to be expected of a more upscale asian diner. Parking is plentiful nearby. We were able to walk in and be seated for Sunday's brunch but I imagine a reservation would be needed for more peak times Overall I think this place is great and will come back! Will have to give the cheeseburger fried rice a try next.

What a great place to get Chinese food in Houston! The food was very flavorful, not too salty, presented neatly, the service was great! The place inside is also very beautiful, the menu has a lot of tasty options. Overall, I highly recommend and would come back.

Wow! I stopped by Agnes and Sherman on a Wednesday after work. I probably made it there around 5:15. I was one of the first people in the building, but soon after it filled up. Just walking up it gives a modern twist to a retro diner. When I walked in, I immediately said that this place was super cute. They had a nice playlist going, and everyone was so nice and energetic. They have happy hour all day on Wednesdays and Thursdays. So I started with the happy hour fried chicken wings, and the scallion waffle. That waffle was 10 out of 10! The chicken wings were very flavorful and crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside. I also had a watermelon frozen margarita. It was pretty good. Nice and refreshing for the summer. The portion sizes are huge, so be prepared to split your dishes and still have enough to bring home. We tried the rice cakes dish and the egg foo young. I really enjoyed both dishes. The rice cakes dish did have a little spice to it, which I enjoyed. The other dish was also flavorful. They usually give you hot sauce on the side for it, and I do recommend adding it for an extra kick. We also split the bean-coffee pie, which was really good. It was very light. sweet but not too sweet. I highly recommend grabbing a few friends and stopping by this place. It's in the Heights area. I didn't have any trouble parking on a Wednesday late afternoon. The service was also very great.

Came here specifically for the popular savory scallion waffle and honestly it did not disappoint! It was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with so much savory flavor. That sambal honey butter was yummy. Definitely my favorite dish here so far. We also ordered the Taiwanese Dip Sandwich and the Beef Fajita Chow Fun, and both were packed with bold, delicious flavors. The sandwich was juicy and satisfying, and the chow fun had that perfect wok flavor with tender beef and great seasoning. Everything tasted thoughtfully made and well-balanced. For dessert, we had the Bean-offe pie. It was creamy and had just the right amount of sweet without being overwhelming. Such a good way to end the meal. Service was friendly and attentive, and the ambience was chic but still relaxed and comfortable. It's a great spot to for lunch. I'd definitely come back to try more from the menu!

To my surprise, I still ended up waiting 50 mins to pickup my food which was really frustrating. I understand patience and this being a small business but do believe preorders should have a speedier process! On to the food, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors of both Vietnamese spices and traditional bbq in the rice. Not pictured I also tried the sausage which was as amazing as well. I think for the price, these were phenomenal. Unfortunately, something I ate from this spot, got me sick and due to this and the increased wait times, not sure if this will be a spot i'll revisit.

I would give this place 3.5 stars if I could due to its unique concept and creative dishes, but the…read moreactual flavors and execution brings it down to 3 stars for me. I recommend getting here very early, and preorder online if you can. I got here probably 15 minutes before they opened and there was already a line forming. Plenty of covered seating and the lawn area is pretty scenic. Here's what I ordered: Brisket BBH: the BBH is pretty good. Clean and light broth, but I think it would've benefitted from a little more sate as it was on the blander side. I think the brisket didn't really complement the dish. It was just thrown in there. It honestly would've been better without it, as the brisket makes the price tag quite steep... Pork ribs, brisket, spare ribs: gonna group these all together because they were all a bit of a letdown... Brisket wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be for a Viet BBQ place. Both the pork ribs and spare ribs were dry. I like mine to be falling easily off the bone. Smoked turkey: most and flavorful but a little too salty. Bo La lot sausage: it was pretty flavorful, but I think if they really wanted to elevate this dish, they should wrap the sausage in lolot leaves... so it's true to its name. Curry dish: this tastes like your typical Thai red curry paste from the can. Rice was also a bit dry. Banh Xeo: probably my favorite dish. Very unique flavor... fatty, rich, savory! I would get this again. Too bad it's so small! Vietnamese slaw: quite literally (barely) pickled cabbage... not sure what makes it Vietnamese... Bok choy: typical stir fry wok style flavor. It's good, but small portion. Overall, I was a tad bit disappointed. The marketing team does a really good job of making their dishes look so delicious. But the reality was underwhelming... and pricy...

Our waiter was attentive and answered all of the questions. He even checked to see if the kitchen could make chocolate chip pancakes for our little one. The crab Benedict was light (not super heavy like some Benedict's) and the steak was perfectly cooked! Omelet with racketeering and crawfish etouffee was tasty Areas to improve 1. We booked patio because we wanted to be outside - they had a large baby shower that took over the large room and patio. It looks like it had been planned in advance so it would have been nice to know that the patio was not available . 2. Coffee service - the cup is really small and our server spilled the coffee out of the cup several times. That is just unprofessional to me when the cup is then soaking in the dish with coffee outside the cup. Plus it wasn't refilled as often. 3. Dishes are hit or miss - his shrimp and grits seemed to be a small portion and just bland and blah. 4. Restrooms are really dark 5. Patio outside looks unappealing there are dead plants and lanky wax leaf which gives terrible allergies. Also they have fake plants and also live ones inside the restaurant, but the inside orchids were dried up and dead looking so not fresh or appealing either. I know it's under new management so it might be hit or miss.
