I love the food here! This restaurant is close to my job so I often order Uber eats for lunch. The green mango salad and kimchi are tied for what I love the most. The green mango salad has glass noodles, so it makes the dish very filling. It's bursting with flavors, and hits all the notes...salty, sweet and savory. The kimchi is outstanding! So much so that I no longer order the side but opt for the Jarred option, it's bursting with flavor. The cabbage has a wonderful texture, it's a perfect balance. The curry puff was good, I would have preferred a more pronounced curry flavor but the flakiness made up for it. The orange chicken was good, I would have liked more sauce but it was still very good. All in all it was a great meal!

The brisket on the curly q fries was really good. I'd recommend them. The brisket eggrolls were a bit of a disappointment though. Should be served with bbq sauce as opposed to an Asian dip. Service was cool. I placed my order easily and food was cooked to order. Place was a vibe and full of people on their way to the Astro's game.

I first discovered Wokker when they had a location at The Conservatory. Sadly, they are no longer there, but was happy to see they have this location as well. What started off as a food truck has grown into a couple of actual restaurants and they still have the truck too from what I understand. What they offer here is Asian food with some southern fusion. Think Asian bases like pad Thai or fried rice and infuse it with some southern BBQ. That's exactly what I got. I went with fried rice bowl with pork belly. The rice was topped with tender, smoky pork belly, along with kimchi and a fried egg. The melding of flavors was awesome. Every component of the meal was done right. We also shared an order of the briskey eggrolls. This too was a flavor bomb. I thought the brisket would be dried out inside a fried eggroll wrapper, but it was very good. They used the thin wrappers used for spring rolls, so it was crispy, but not too thick to where you lose the flavors of the filling. Overall, this is a great, fast casual spot serving up great fusion food. I shall be back!

Casual Asian fusion brick and mortar spot on the north side of town within the loop. It's not the best part of town but rent is probably cheaper here. You order up front at the counter and get served your food fairly quickly. Service is friendly and fast; they have only one front of house staff. We got the chicken green dumplings (3/5), bonito brussell sprouts (2/5), and brisket curly fries (4/5) for apps. I wasn't a big fan of the dumplings as they were slightly on the bland side. The Brussels did not have a great flavor and the sauce could've been a bit less salty. The curly fries with brisket tasted like a food truck special and was very filling and the brisket is good as well. For the main, I got the brisket pad Thai (4/5) and a Vietnamese coffee (3.5/5). The pad Thai actually worked decently with the brisket, which was moist and flavor wise, and a step above Rudy's but not quite a Truth brisket. The pad Thai tastes like a slightly sweeter version of a pad Thai usually served at Thai spots. Overall, it's a fast casual fusion spot and they have some solid options for a quick lunch.

Brisket is definitely the thing to get when you come here. It's juicy, it's flavorful and mixes with Asian flavors surprisingly well. The service was good, nothing over bearing or great but just right. The decor and maneki neko cowboy is just right for what this restaurant provides. The only reason why I couldn't give them a 5th star is because the rice bowls were genuinely terrible. Plain rice that was so oily with a runny egg on top. The chicken and the shrimp were both horrible neither of us finished our food. A small upside is the kimchi which was pretty good.

I have to give this place a solid 5 because the food and service was excellent. Yes it's bare bones as far as decor goes but it is what it is. The food here is excellent. Popped in because I live in the neighborhood and I did not want to venture far. Service was friendly and attentive. It is a walk up to the counter, place your order and your food would be brought out to you establishment. It was a Sunday and the place was not packed. We started with the jalapeno bites. They were so good we ordered two more helpings to go. I had the orange chicken bowl (so good). The grilled onions and peppers where a nice compliment to the dish. My friend ordered the fried rice bowl and it was very delicious. The food came out fresh and made to order. I was really impressed with this place and was impressed by the quality of the food. I will definitely be back. There is a little speakeasy inside called Méo. One of the employees showed us the secret entrance because I asked. It was closed at the time but can't wait to have cocktails there. I will definitely come back here.

Do Not Eat here! I'm still haven't received a refund for the contaminated food. This is not acceptable. There was some type of plastic/paper mixed in with the brussel sprouts and orange chicken. Eating this caused me to have stomach pains and diarrhea. I choked and vomited the food back up.

The food is fresh and amazing and has a great spice and flavoring. I love the brisket egg rolls and their pork belly rice! The cashier was super friendly and was very informative about all three menus and their times. I love the decorations and the cool updated decor!

Oh man, I stumbled across the place by accident and I am soooo glad I did. I was grabbing food while on my way to my brothers for our Saturday family hang out. This food is so good! We ordered two of the fried rice bowls one pork belly and one brisket and my brother had the shaken beef. I specifically had the brisket and it's so delicious it tastes candied and it's cooked to perfection it compliments the egg in the bowl. In true little sister fashion I ate a piece of food out of everyone's bowl while unpacking the to go bag and can confirm all food was delicious haha. I didn't dine in but the person at the register was very nice and my food was ready quickly. Highly recommend trying this place out!

I'd say solid place for a quick lunch, but their food does better as a food truck than a standalone store. It is a fast-casual Texas-Asian fusion restaurant that is spacious, but the furniture is pretty bare bones. It is a nice concept, but the execution is not inventive or new. Cowboy katsu- 6.5/10 Fried pork katsu in a BBQ/teriyaki sauce over a bed of rice topped with pickled onions, green onions, and a sunny-side up egg. I prefer my eggs more fried, but the yolk was nice and runny. The katsu could be more fried, crispy, and flaky. Sauce seemed like a pretty basic mixture of BBQ and ketchup. Pork belly fried rice- 6.8/10 I love the fried rice, it was savory, salty, sweet, not too oily. Pork belly is juicy and chewy; it's hard to get pork belly wrong! Feels like a homecooked cheat meal I make for myself haha. Bourbon pepper steak- 6/10 Steak and peppers were good, but no special twist or anything that stood out. You can get this at your local Chinese takeout for about the same price with a much larger serving. Not sure if I would return because the recipes are basic, nothing really wow'd me, but nothing wrong for a relatively cheap bite.

So good! We ate here a week ago and had several items. Everything was delicious, but the shaken beef was the highlight of the meal...so good that I'm still thinking about it a week later! Got to meet one of the owners. He was so nice and told us their food truck to brick and mortar story. Go support these guys. You won't be disappointed. read more

I'm on a food truck crave lately and am always finding new food trucks to try out. My boyfriend decided to go on a food truck adventure with me and we decided on this place. They were located next to third coast volleyball where people can go and play volleyball in the open on sand with friends. The location is nice if you're into some active play and when you're hungry you could stop at wokker tx ranger and grab some bites to eat. It is a very convenient location if you're in the area, but if you're not then it can be a far drive. There are plenty of parking spaces around the area. You don't have to walk very far to get to the truck, but be careful walking in the grass. There are ant piles everywhere and these ants mean business! PORK BELLY FRIED RICE The fried rice wasn't bad. It was a very big portion and I couldn't finish it all. The fried rice had a sweet flavor to it, which was a bit odd because I've never associated fried rice with sweetness. It had a taste of fishiness as well.. like they cooked the rice with kimchi or something.The pork belly added some fatness and the kimchi was tangy, but not too sour. The biggest problem I had with the fried rice was that the portion was off. There was a lot of rice, but the ratio of meat to rice was off. There was probably about 5 pieces of pork belly and a little serving of kimchi. The egg was cooked nicely though and added some rich flavor to the rice. BRISKET CURLY FRIES I was really excited to try the fries because it looked so good! It was really cheesy and the fries were crispy. The meat was really tender and seasoned well. Overall, the fries were pretty good and tasty, but they were so filling. It was a very large serving as well. My boyfriend and I couldn't even finish sharing one. I would come back to try out their pad thai and eggrolls. Service was good and friendly, but the wait was a bit long compared to other food trucks I've been to. If I was starving, I probably would've died waiting for my food. I'll visit again eventually, but for now.. I'm gonna continue my food truck adventure and try new places. read more

Perhaps there's nothing more emblematic of the past decade than the food truck. It's a product of the rise of the foodie, the mashup of culture, social-media driven marketing, and that weirdly defiant (but not really) relationship most of us have with corporate America. Food trucks gave us Korean-Mexican fusion, waffles topped with all sorts of amazingness, legitimate Southern BBQ, trucks dedicated to pork, trucks dedicated to bacon, Asian food, Latin food, American food and so, so much more- all from the convenience of a mobile kitchen-- situated close to your office building during weekday lunch hours, and at your local hangout during weekends. I don't know if I've come across a food truck that manages to kick butt on every level, better than Wokker. Came to Houston for Memorial Day weekend and found these guy's parked outside of Little Woodrow's in the Heights during the Cavs-Hawks game. After a late lunch-- umm two lunches-- I hadn't planned on eating a big dinner but I was intrigued at first by the name and then by the menu. Then I saw a customer walk away with kimchi fried rice and pork belly topped with a sunny side up egg and I knew I was done for. A group of friends and I pooled together our money and decided to order one of everything on the menu. We were expecting NY food truck portions. But Texans really take the "Everything's bigger in Texas" thing to heart. After my lunch of pho, my snack of banh mi and my second lunch of crawfish, I was almost bursting at the seams. And still I scarfed down all of this deliciousness. It's that good. The standouts for me were the pork belly fried rice, the shaken beef and the brisket curly fries. What's unique about Wokker is they're not really serving food truck food-- or a food truck version of restaurant food. You're getting legitimate, sit-down restaurant quality, imaginative, inspired, delicious food but at food truck prices and food truck convenience. So good. So, so good. Super friendly, and great customer service! I got to try this truck yesterday at the Winterlight festival, and when I saw that they had Brussels sprouts on the menu I was all in. The chefs were so nice and assured me that I would be in love with their good eats. They had a great menu of some nice Asian fusion meets Texas eats like ribs. I ordered the Brussels sprouts because I live for them and then to see they had bonito flakes and a signature sauce. Unfortunately I have had way better and many places. They were very greasy, bitter the sauce needed something maybe like plum sauce or tamarind to balance all the acidity. The Bonito flakes were good but didn't add much difference in texture, maybe raisins would be a nice addition. I wanted to love them so much because the guys are awesome, so if you guys are reading this and ever go to Austin, go to Uchiko and try the sprouts, hands down the best I have ever had in my life. The hours on their FB page aren't accurate. I went yesterday to their truck at Kirby ice house. I was there at 2:04pm and the truck kept driving back and forth from one side of the parking lot to the other, putting water into the truck via a hose, cleaning, prepping the truck. Their recent FB posts indicate the truck at this location is supposed to open at 2pm. I take that to mean that they're open, ready to go, take orders, cook, serve, etc at that time. Nope! I waited patiently in my car till 2:25pm before getting off to go see what was going on. The man inside the truck said it would be another 20-30 min.... uh that puts their open time close to 3pm. Not a problem, but then that's the time that should be advertised on their FB page! Also, I live about 8 miles away but happened to be in the area running errands. My mom was with me and is handicapped and sometimes suffers from low blood sugar. I myself practice IF and usually go about 20-24hrs at a time with no food. But when its time to break my fast its time! I even tried to see if ordering online for pick up would change the time the food would be ready. Nope, that was NOT accurate either. It claimed the order would be ready after 2:20. However, if the truck wasn't even going to be ready to open till close to 3pm and someone showed up at 230 to pick up their order then that's a problem. Overall, a huge inconvenience and disappointment. *BTW: If ordering online for pickup THIS location does NOT offer brisket pad thai or brisket egg rolls. Their online pickup menu for this location doesn't have these items listed read more

The guys who run the truck are super nice, and always have a smile on their faces. Only things: adding Chili garlic sauce to the condiment selection would be great. Wokker was the rotating food truck for the day at my office building and I am so glad I had the opportunity to try it. The pork belly fried rice (with Kim chi and a fried egg) was seriously one of the best things I've ever eaten and they didn't skimp on the pork belly! The chicken and vegetable dumplings were fried and super crispy! It's definitely on the pricier side of food trucks (although I feel like they're all that way now!) but it is worth it. read more

I hit up Wokker Texas Ranger (first off, incredible name) at the Houston Food Park for the first time. They were out of their chicken fried chicken skewers so I ended up going with the brisket egg rolls and the brisket curly fries. The brisket egg rolls are out of this world and are basically about as amazing as they sound. Egg rolls stuffed with brisket served with a sweet and tangy sauce. The curly fries came with a generous helping of cheese, spicy mayo, tamarind sauce, and brisket. Also very good but I had to knock a star off because there should have been more brisket. The brisket is cut in cubes rather than strips so you don't get too much to accompany your fries. They have a lot of other interesting options so I'll be back! read more

Just tried their pork belly fried rice with kimchi. Their food truck stopped by our office during lunch and of course today was the day I didn't bring anything with me...so I had to find something to eat. There were a few yummy things that I wanted to try but couldn't eat them all. Some of my co-workers however did order what seemed like one of everything. They ran out of the shaken beef which some wanted to try. Would suggest carrying more of the popular items but what I and others had was really good. Even better since we didn't have to drive anywhere to get food. Will try again, hopefully they'll have shaken beef next time. read more

Just got the brisket fries, and they're pretty good! Don't know if they're $9 good though, especially with how little brisket you actually get on the fries (lots of fat chunks too, ew). The workers are friendly and they get your order out pretty quick. The tamarind sauce and spicy mayo they put on it is pretty hot, but not to an overwhelming degree. It'll clear your sinuses, that's for sure. I feel like they could use more cheese and green onion, as I could barely taste either of them with all the sauce. Stumbled upon this food truck at a school related event. There was another food truck but I decided to take a gamble with this place and it definitely paid off. I immediately knew what I wanted before I saw the menu because people were walking away with some of the best looking fries I've seen in a while. I played no games and ordered the brisket fries($9). It took about 8-10 minutes which wasn't bad because of the crowd and the fries came out fresh like a newborn. Plenty of brisket, cheese, spicy mayo and green onion. I'm a sucker for Asian fusion but these fries were delectable. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys food trucks and Asian fusion. I will be back to try something else. read more

I tried this for my first time during the spring semester while the truck was at UH main campus. Pretty nice staff & great service. I just HAD to get the pork belly fried rice. I have not eaten pork belly ever since I was an adolescent in high school, so it was nice to savor all the tasty fat that I should not eat. The egg on the side was cooked just enough so that the yolk is still dripping when you stick a fork in there. The rice was good as well. I have recommended this food truck to numerous friends and have gotten nothing but positive feedback! I will come back very soon. You should go! You won't regret it. read more

Here I am with a generous portion of their pork belly fried rice. It's piping hot, and I'm sitting outside and enjoying this beautiful November weather. But... I'm berating myself. I just saw someone walk by with the brisket curly fries and I'm torn. The fries are spilling out of their container and they look all nice and crispy. Gosh. I should have tried something new but their fried rice was sooo good last time. You get some egg, kimchi, and a scoop of their sweet and bbqed pork, which sits on a bed of freshly made rice. It's a spicy and sweet explosion in my mouth. Oh gosh, another group came by with fries, but their food is very filling. I hope they come back to 1600 or I'm hunting them down. I tried Wokker TX Ranger for the first time when it was at the UH Law School. I couldn't find the truck at first since it was at a spot that I personally don't think many students would pass. I decided to look one more time and I found it. When I went around noon on a Friday, it was only one other person which I thought was odd but menu students don't stay on campus on Fridays. I ordered the tamarind ribs. I thought it came with rice from the pics I had seen on yelp but it can't with curly fries which is fine for me. The ribs were tender and crispy topped with sesame seeds. The tamarind flavor did not overpower the flavor of the ribs. It was a good compliment. I didn't ask for ketchup for my fries.Overall, I like the tamarind ribs. I would order from this food truck again. read more

Wow, really good! I am shocked at how great food truck meals have been, trucks like this are really setting the standard HIGH. I have never had Pad Thai with brisket before now that I have had it I can say it's something I could eat again, and again and again. Great meat, tender and goes down smooth. The noodles were made well. Great portion size! Worth stopping and ordering. And I must add, VERY NICE WOKKERS kind and courteous. I am a sucker for great customer service, even from food trucks! read more

I especially like the katsu pork, but the eggplant emoji dish is the secret incredible bombshell. From start to finish, our experience at Wokker was enjoyable. We found them this time at Houston Food Park on 1311 Leeland. The food was perfect for a brisk winter evening: brisket egg rolls, Brussels sprouts, and pork belly fried rice. The serving size of Brussels sprouts was generous; we received a heaping portion, and we were both pleasantly surprised by the flavor (hints of sweet with savory). I had the pleasure of enjoying these brisket curly fries and mysterious Mac sauce at a Houston Rockets social. Wokker was literally the best option of food trucks for to choose from. The dish was a little pricy to me and didn't have enough brisket, but the portion size made up for it since I was able to share with my girlfriend. The staff on the truck was great and very patient with their customers despite the hectic crowd. read more

Disclaimer: I only tried the brisket curly fries, nothing else. With that said I didn't think they were as fantastic as all the other reviews make them out to be. They were just curly fries. Not sure if fresh or frozen. Some brisket, cheese, onions sprinkled on top and spicy mayo. The amount of brisket on top is very very minimal, so I don't know if it's worth to pay $9 + tax for it. The brisket on top is cut into very small cubes, so it's hard to tell if they taste really great on their own or not since they're mixed in with the spicy mayo. If for some odd reason you're craving curly fries and this truck is close by, it could be worth a try especially with every other review raving about how out of this world the fries are... I probably should try other items before giving up on them, but I more than likely won't. The guy who took my order was very friendly and I thought the order was out at a very reasonable amount of time, probably 10 or 15 minutes and I had 3 people ahead of me. This was the only truck left at Karbach on a Saturday night - they open late, until Karbach closes at 9:30pm and then some. They were nice, the service was quick and the food was delicious! I ordered the ribs with the curly fries and the fries were crispy and seasoned well - the ribs were seasoned perfectly and delicious and definitely tender. I would definitely come to this truck again if I see it out and about and try some of the other selections (i.e. kimchi fried rice with pork belly).. drools! read more

I tried Wokker TX Ranger while at Kirbys Ice House for a Rockets viewing party. The major con of this food truck is that the menu isn't prominently displayed. The menu is a small picture of the food, with numbers in the corner of the picture. The pictures were placed right below the window where you place your order. With the pictures being so inconspicuous, coupled with the line being so long, when people would walk to the front of the line to see what they wanted to order, it would cause a lot of confusion on who was ordering and if people were trying to skip the line. Again, that was my main problem with my experience. Despite the line confusion and large crowd, the food came out surprisingly fast. I ordered the brisket fries and the chicken skewers. The brisket fires were amazing. The brisket was tender and well-seasoned. The fries were curly fries and incredibly crispy (I thought they would be soggy because there was a sauce on top). I can't say enough about the brisket fries, they were perfect and I would suggest them to anyone thinking of giving them a try. Now for the chicken skewers. The chicken skewers were just okay. The chicken wasn't seasoned and it was dry. Dipping the skewers in ranch helped, but you could still taste that something was missing. The batter the chicken was fried in was crispy but wasn't fried too hard, it was perfect. The curly fries served with the skewers were just as crispy and wonderful as the fires served with the brisket fries, so no complaints there. It's a really nice place. Vast selection of good beers, customer service was on point, lots of seating and lounging area. A friend and I ordered one item from the kitchen. It was called the wokker fries I believe. It had curly fries, brisket and cheese in it. Some random girl was eating my fries /: BECAUSE IT LOOKED SO GOOD! The fries were really good though. The only negative I think some might have issue with is the parking. I don't mind walking at all, so no biggie. **edit** I tried the: Akaushi Burger (4/5) akaushi beef I had at other restaraunts usually had more fat content. I would get it again without the veggies. I felt like the veggies they used downgraded the burger. It was really soft tomatoes and light colored lettuce I think. (Something like arugala would definitely take the burger to another level). The other toppings and meat seasoning were A+ almost on the saltier side, but I like that. Wokker Fries (5/5) takes 2-3 people to finish. Eggrolls (3/5) good flavor and crunch but not the type of eggroll I prefer or would recommend to friends to try before having the other items first. Fried rice with pork belly (5/5) I really really really like this. Friend said the kimchi was salty. It was, but it's meant to be eaten with the rice. Please get this!!! I had been wanting to come to this food truck for quite some time. Finally, we went when it was at Kirby Ice House. To me, the food was a bit overpriced for what it was. However, I was still excited to try it. We got almost everything except for the ribs and stir fry. The food was good, but honestly it all kind of tasted the same. First impression looking at menu "oh look another food truck that serves fries with some sort of spicy mayo" *rolls eyes*. I really wanted to try the pork belly fried rice but I don't really like pork belly and I didn't want to bother with the substitution (or the possible price change). So I decided to be basic and settle for the fries. This food truck hands down has some of the best fries!!! Maybe it's the brisket, maybe it's the sauce, maybe it's the fact they are curly fries! I ordered from Wokker HTX online and picked up the chicken fried rice. It was delicious! The flavors were bold, and the spice level was just right. We loved everything we tried! We got the shaken beef, pad Thai, brisket egg rolls, and pork belly fried rice. The shaken beef was my favorite! I added extra tomatoes, and they topped it off with a perfectly cooked egg. The fried rice was also really good! Those two were definitely the highlights for me.
