For those not familiar with this area and if you haven't learned yet. There are 2 Wolf Bay Restaurants one in orange beach and the other in Foley. Never confuse the 2 because there is no comparison between the two. The location in Foley is well worth the drive. It is a little pricey but when you see the portion size you'll know why. I have eaten at most of the seafood restaurants down here and always compare them to Wolf Bay Foley which is the best seafood down here. First time here, and it was a success! The restaurant has a shop when you walk in if you're in the mood to shop. Looks like they had a good variety of things. There is a salad bar which has plenty of options to load up! 2-6 pm happy hour drinks everyday! $3 blue moons. Can't beat that! Service was great for how busy it was! They brought out our food before we got a good start on the salad. Wife's sweet potato was not fully cooked - almost hard as a new potato. I had to ask for crackers to eat with my salad, the thousand island dressing tasted like it had dill pickle juice in it, catsup bottle empty. The food is AWEsome! Only two negative things to say is that the Coconut was cooked a little too long, but the taste was really good. With the Tropical Marmalade, you cannot go wrong with this dish. The Alfredo and Blackened Chicken had good flavor but some pieces were over cooked. The service that we received from Audrey is what took this meal over the top. We do eat at Wolf Bay occasionally because Foley has a salad bar deficiency. The salad bar at Wolf Bay is outstanding. 13 bucks for a single trip and 15 for unlimited. That seems rather high to me, but the quality is good. However, the other food is really, really bad. Service is always suspect. And the prices are much higher than similar quality restaurants in the area. If you are looking for salad, I do recommend. But for anything else or a special evening, anywhere but here. read more

Another 5 star experience at Wolf Bay in Foley! When we go to Foley from Pensacola sometimes we like to treat ourselves to Wolf Bay because it is so absolutely delicious! I had the Wolf Bay Platter which is a seafood platter with butterfly shrimp, stuffed shrimp, fried oysters and stuffed crab. All this comes over a bed of fries, or any side of your choice. It also comes with a cup of either seafood gumbo or lobster bisque. I chose the lobster bisque this time because I don't like tomatoes in my gumbo. The lobster bisque was to die for! Creamy but it had chunks of lobster meat at the same time! My wife ALWAYS has the Alfredo with grilled chicken. It's her go to there and it's absolutely amazing too! I haven't had anything bad there yet. Erica, our server was amazing! We never had to wait on drinks or anything, if your cup was half empty then it was too empty and Erica was bringing more. Very polite and knowledgeable about the menu and as sweet as can be! We got there around 5 pm so it wasn't all that busy but it was starting to get that way before we left. The ambience was great. I thought I was gonna really enjoy my 60th birthday celebration. Seeing the pictures on the site. Made me so excited but the experience was a different story we ordered drinks. It took forever to get and two of our four drink was not made properly had no alcohol we ordered appetizers cheese sticks were cold we order our food. It was not cooked properly. Our food was cold when it came to our table server who was a male was not friendly or attentive at all. He had an attitude every time we had something to say we were not mean at all we were very friendly when we told him about the issues we had with our food and he was not. We asked to see a manager. He told us that the manager was busy and then he told us that he was at the other restaurant I didn't know you had to anyway it was the worst experience I ever had for my birthday. Well, we live in Foley and frequent this restaurant. Today, our party had a horrible experience. We had 17 people for dinner @. 5:00 pm. I know the restaurant does not take reservations but they always seem to accommodate us when we give them a heads up. We called earlier in the day and they said it should be no problem. We got there and discovered they had an entire banquet of 200+ people tonight. They failed to inform me that they had a big event during our conversation. If they had we probably would have opted to go elsewhere. We had most of our party there before 5:00 to which we were told it would be approximately an hour wait. Another party of 14 was seated and we were told they were getting our table ready. They constantly seated groups of 4-6 at a table while we continued to wait. We inquired about this and she said she was taking them in order which was a lie as we were well before many groups. 35-40 minutes passed and we decided to go next door to Moe's. Upon arriving at Moe's two men in my party informed me that the hostesses made snide comments behind my back. One said that "we are impatient. You have only been here 35 minutes" and the other said "I would have seated them if I had not been ugly to her." That is what really frosted me! I walked back over after hearing this and talked to the manager. She listened but defended her hostesses and stated they would never say anything like that. I know my friends heard what they heard and have no reason to lie. To which I told her these girls should be reprimanded or even fired. I am not sure I will grace Wolf Bay again! Doc's Seafood is opening up down the street and I hope it hampers Wolf Bay because they need an attitude adjustment. read more

The price for the salad bar is worth it. The burgers were moist and gone in 60 seconds. The crab dip is to sweet for our liking. If you like the inside of crab Rangoon then it's for you. The pita bread with it is fresh and tastes homemade. The stuffed mushrooms didn't need that orange sauce that came with it but the stuffing in mushroom was good. Used to be good, but not now. Something changed and not for the better. The portions have been drastically reduced and quality has gone down. Nothing seemed fresh, more like frozen seafood. As is was getting late in the evening and many of the seafood restaurants were packed like the beach this 4th of July weekend. I decided on Wolf Bay. Despite the crowd and groups that night 30min to 45min was very reasonable compared to the 2 or 3 hour wait at other places. We were immediately seated and didn't have a table bussed in front of us like most places and having to wait a few additional minutes standing at our table. I was also impressed with how quick our server got to our table to get our order ready despite the crowd. After she took our order we immediately went to the salad bar. We found the fixings and vegetables to be fresh and the selection of dressings to be reasonable despite no light dressings available. I ordered the shrimp Alfredo & all have to say about is. It was exquisite with melt in your mouth cheese tender shrimp and pasta cooked to perfection. I tried a few bites of the flounder it was also excellent flakey soft & chewy. With great service and excellent food I would recommend Wolf Bay to anybody looking for a excellent seafood dining experience without the 2 or 3 hour wait time of the other places. The WORST Customer Experience of Our Lives Our church's Women's Department met at Wolf Bay in Foley this weekend for our quarterly fellowship & fun day. We tried to make reservations since our party was going to be more than 10, but telephone hostess politely declined, which was understandable. We were willing to wait upon arrival. We were seated, with a few of us straggling in as we arrived from children's sports and work. Our server was Tommy, who seemed to be less than excited to have a large party. His tone was very dry and he seemed internally unhappy, though he presented a façade of pleasantness when he spoke. He cut many of us off to answer questions with mildly aggressive toned, curt replies, or did not answer at all. We refused to allow this to hinder our fellowship, as many of our ladies were new moms, and had recent employment transitions, so we REALLY needed the time together. The food was ok, no major complaints from anyone about food being wrong or anything of the sort. There were a few of us who were unhappy with tastes, but that is to be expected. Our drinks weren't tended as expected, but as mentioned, we were a large party (about 20) with one server. Then came the billing. Though it seemed Tommy had all the checks separated correctly, when it came to one check, there was a discrepancy of integrity. The check was $70.74 and there were 4 $20 bills placed in the folder for payment. Many of us took note of it because those of use using cards had a charge on our tickets for NOT using cash. (I'm sure it's on their site somewhere, no biggie.) Tommy failed to return the $9.26 change to the cash payer. The only reason it was even expected is because gratuity was charged, and Tommy really wasn't pleasant to us, so many of us declined to tip further, except the cash payer who wanted to give him the change in hopes of improving his demeanor. When asked about the change, Tommy became aggressive and increased his volume quickly, so much so that a visual spectacle was made. He was postured in a manner that made our ladies feel threatened and embarrassed as he tried to tell our Pastor's wife that she'd only given him "three two's and a 1 which was $70." She asked, "If that is so, why didn't you return the check to me to collect the remainder of the balance since I would've shorted you $0.74?" Tommy said, "Because it didn't matter." When she told Tommy that she would have to speak with someone in management, he began to say, "That's fine. That's fine. That's fine." between every few words she spoke, in what seemed to be an attempt to gaslight her in to responding negatively or in a tone/volume matching his. I quietly intervened and said, "Excuse me, is there someone you check in with on this shift that we can speak to because you are being VERY crispy right now." Tommy went to get Steve, whom he spoke to for the duration of his return. When Steve arrived, I explained the situation quietly and noted that the $9 was not even important anymore, it was the maltreatment. Steve gave me the "one second" finger, came back with a $10 bill, set it on the table in front of our Pastor's Wife, tapped it twice while looking at her, and proceeded to back away slowly. Shocked at the silent, yet loudly disrespectful response to the situation, I asked him to understand our disappointment with the poor treatment again and implored him to reconsider Tommy's access to their customer base. He literally put his hands in front of him as if I were physically encroaching upon him (even though I was on the other side of the table from him) and said, "Ok." I asked the Tommy if everyone's checks were satisfied and said yes. I looked at our Women's Department and said, "Ok ladies, let's go on and leave." This, by far, was the worst, most embarrassing experience that ANY of us as individuals and as a collective have EVER experienced and has changed our perspective of the city of Foley as a potential meeting area in the future. There were people staring at us, there were people recording us, gawking, and whispering as we were treated like well-dressed miscreants. I never want ANY person, woman or man, to feel how we felt on Saturday. I looked forward to leaving a great review for great food and service, and unfortunately, this is how it ended. read more

We decided to stop at this restaurant after shopping at the outlets and because it was on the way home. It says 4 stars but I seen a solid 2 after dining there I ordered the shrimp and scallops and my wife had the shrimp Alfredo. My meal was so under average it wasn't funny. My wife just looked at me and knew I was not happy with my meal. It was just thrown on an undersized plate, the batter fell off every time you dipped the scallops in the tarter sauce, the taste was bland. Just a terrible display of culinary skill.
