My friend and I went Christmas shopping in the CWE the other day. Not many stores were open, so we were excited that Wolfgang's was, as we were both shopping for our dogs. We didn't have much luck there. Wolfgang's appears to be primarily a grooming salon, and I can't comment on those services. They had some dog food, toys, and accessories, but nothing super cute or revolutionary that caught my eye. The selection of baked goods was unimpressive. I didn't expect them to be a Treats Unleashed in offerings, but it was less than I had imagined. No purchases made. I loved seeing so many dogs up in the shop, though. If I lived in the CWE, I might go to Wolfgang's regularly. read more

The 2 times I got my dog a deshed bath at Wolfgang's he came home with bald red, painful skin sores where groomer pulled plugs of hair out combing him roughly. The bald patches of skin scab after several days & it take months for his hair to properly grow back. I called and made Wolfgang aware the 1st time it happened & requested a different groomer only to have it to happen a 2nd time. Management refused to acknowledge my experience and responded to my concerns very defensively, asserting their groomers are highly experienced & they couldn't have done this. read more

Best in the biz. For sure. My girlfriend has a little yorkie that she has groomed religiously. She's very particular about where she goes, and always has a complaint or two. I surprised her by having her dog brought to Wolfgang's. She was floored. Here's what we got... A bath, cut, and oatmeal treatment... yes... an oatmeal bath, a bow that never falls out, and the cutest, SOFTEST animal we've ever seen. She has NEVER come back from a groomer looking so good and feeling so soft. She also smelled great and three weeks later still hadn't developed the normal "doggie odor". I stopped into Wolfgang's the day after I adopted my new rescue dog, totally clueless about what I needed to get. At that point, all I had was a free bag of Purina One from Petsmart where he was adopted, a collar (from the rescue group) and a leash. After talking with a man I assume is the owner in the upstairs retail store area, I felt so much more comfortable. He explained the differences in food options and helped me pick out Blue, which was at a special price since it was a new product they were carrying. He told me which type of brush to get for him, and since he was out of that one, he didn't seem to mind at all that I was going to go to another store to get one. He also gave me a lot of advice on crates and grooming. This is exactly what what shopping at a mom & pop business is all about. Personal service! I stopped in a week later to get him his first grooming, and they owner remembered us. Even though it would only take about 4 hours to do the grooming, they said he could stay until 6 if I needed some extra time...which was great since he wasn't adjusting well to being left at home along yet (and still isn't!). He got a good grooming and afterwards, never gave me trouble about brushing him at home again. Since he hated the brush before the grooming, I'm assuming that they were very gentle with him. I did get a message that he did well on the grooming but didn't like his feet being shaved, so Jenny hand trimmed his feet. I had them do his nails and teeth too. While I'm sure it was a bit more expensive than if I took him to Petsmart, but I don't think he would have gotten such personal attention. And they gave me a 15% discount off the grooming for our first visit. I plan to go back for both grooming and to stock up on their bulk treats ($3/lb I think). read more

The staff are super friendly and my pup had a good time playing with the store dog, but everything is SOOO EXPENSIVE!! I went in to buy a retractable leash and I had just gone to a couple different places before and no one else charged over $10. The one at their store was $35. WHAT?!? Nice little place. They have cute little gourmet doggy bakery goods. The staff member walked me over to what I needed and helped me pick out the best food for my cat. I tried some of their grain-free foods, but unfortunately the one my cats like the best ("Dave's" brand) is not carried here, so I don't know that I will go out of my way to come back. If I am in the area though, I will for sure stop by. Their store mascot is the sweetest shepherd ever. His name is Wolfgang. I have been here a few different times and the employees are always helpful and good with suggestions. I haven't used all their services here but they do offer doggy day care, dog training classes, and a grooming area in addition to their upstairs stores where food, treats and other edibles are located. They even bake their own dog treats that are for sale. If go at peak hours, parking can be a pain as it's all Street parking and this is a popular part of town. read more

I love Wolfgangs. Everytime I come in here, the same guy is always workin. He is super friendly and obviously loves dogs and cats! Despite its small size, they have almost anything you could need for your dog. And there is quite a price range for almost all the products, for example I needed a coat for my dog this winter and I bought one for $12 but they also had some there were over $50! And for the record...my dog hated the coat and refuses to wear it, serves me right I guess! This place has a little treat bakery. The cookies look so good, you could seriously fool a human into eating them (and yes, i have before). They offer full grooming services. I have only had my dog, B's nails cut and her teeth brushed. She has pretty short hair, so i bathe and brush her myself. I thought they did a good job. It was quick and easy and they treat the amimals here really well. This place is in my neighborhood, so convenience also play a role in my love for this place. I wish they offered boarding services! read more

Great neighborhood pet shop! You can tell the employees love pets - there's always one in the store! This store may be small, but it carries all the essentials - food, snacks, toys, clothes, accessories, etc. The dog bakery is a favorite - they carry a good variety of treats and it's hard to choose (so I end up buying some of everything!). We love having a pet shop within walking distance of our home. It's a great destination, and we love splurging on some of their freshly baked treats. Fantastically friendly staff as well. How do I know the treats are good? Well, I don't. They certainly smell like a human could eat it, but my dog sure seems to like them. They were so tasty, he growled at us for the first time. He also went above and beyond during his tricks. So, we use them as extra special treats. If $1/treat (or less than that for the deal, I think) is the cost of keeping a great pet store in the neighborhood, great. I'm happy to keep shopping here. I brought Rooster to Wolfgang's pet stop for the very first time to get groomed this week. He is a Havapoo and gets very curly and matted very fast. I try dematting him weekly with a dematting comb but it just gets out of hand quickly. I usually get him groomed every month and a half, and by that point his fur is so curly you can't even run your fingers through it. I had a really bad experience with PetSmart the last time I took him there, where they shaved him too close on the areas where he was particularly matted and gave him a razor burn. I decided to try a new place and I'm so glad I chose Wolfgang's pet stop! He didn't look extremely stressed like he normally does after he goes to the groomer, and they did an amazing job giving him his summer cut. He looks so cute wearing his little bandana, and I know he appreciated getting rid of all that matted hair. I told the groomer that it was really important for me to keep his cute little puppy cut on the face, and they made sure to clean it up without having his sweet face change too much. I took my precious pup to Wolfgang's Pet Stop and I was able to get him in for a quick nail clipping and teeth cleaning. They took him right away which was great, however!!! When I get him back a few of his nails had been missed and were still incredibly long and I didn't notice until I got home. I was incredibly disappointed with that. The treats in the upstairs shop were great though and I spent my time there while I waited for my pampered little pooch. Next time- please clip all of my dogs nails! read more

I absolutely love this little shop! I began taking my 2 1/2 year old Sheltie here about a year or so ago after finding a Groupon for this shop. I've never been or heard of it, but gave it a try because it's a small business and it was a good deal. I set up an appointment for a groom and was lucky enough to have Kelly as her groomer. We have been seeing her ever since! My little girl is terrified of dryers so Kelly takes the extra time to hand dry her. She is very careful with her, patient with her anxiety, and always trims and grooms to my instructions, plus adds extra cute bows or handkerchief after :) It really shows that she cares about dogs and loves her job. She also always seems to be there because every time I've made an appointment, she's been available. When I get my pup back from Kelly, she's super soft, clean, shed-free, and smelling wonderful. We been there regularly for a year or so now and it's always a superb job! The other staff are wonderful too. They know my pup by name and are always very polite and sweet to her and me. They always manage to get me in for an appointment even when calling last minute. They are very friendly and accommodating. On top of that, prices are VERY reasonable. I usually get my Sheltie (read: lots of hair) a wash, groom, trim (nails and hair), teeth brushed, and shed-x treatment for about $40 -- and it ends up being a 4 hour service. I cannot say enough good things about this place! This will be our groomers for life! There is a retail store upstairs and they also do doggy day care, though I've never tried either. I heard from a staffer that they are expanding and adding a new location on Washington street with a larger doggy day care center. My only complaint is parking can be a pain and not very welcoming to take doggy in and out of my car on a busy and tight street. However, that is to be expected in the CWE so I don't fault them for that, just unfortunate byproduct of the location. read more

We were able to attend the grand opening of the location downtown. It was such a fun celebration!! They carry a variety of different items from food and treats to toys and clothing. The CWE location has grooming on the lower level and the store is on the upper level. There is also a doggy daycare at the CWE location. There is also a bakery where they sell fresh cookies and treats. The downtown location does not have grooming but it does have self service dog wash, daycare, boarding, and training. read more
