We went for lunch at Wolfies yesterday and it was great! Usually they have pretty middle of the road food, this visit was an improvement. Five of us went and got a variety of dishes from chicken fingers to cauliflower tacos. I ordered the tacos and really enjoyed the balance of greens and sweet sauce mixed with the cauliflower. Three stars for the atmosphere, location is nice. Buffalo nachos: not good, watery buffalo sauce that doesn't taste good. It was laughable. Chicken wings: boring fat tasteless wings, once again bad buffalo sauce. Not spicy at all. Chicken fried chicken or whatever its called: not good. Philly cheese steak: sucked Ahi tuna: good! The waitress did such a good job. The food and drinks, however, were poor at best. The pork nachos were served over burned potato chips and the entire dish was greasy and unacceptable. The burger was dry and overcooked. The drinks tasted like watered down koolaid mixed with a chemical syrup, gross. We went to Wolfies this afternoon and watched the golf. Ridiculously hot and humid so we enjoyed a cold beverage watching multiple TVs with very nice people. This is our go to place to watch sports while having a nice beverage with a menu full of tasty appetizers and a nice dinner. I came here for a dinner meeting while in town, I had no idea what this place would be other than I did look up the menu before driving over. I get here and was surprised to find it literally on the water, the parking log was pretty full on a Friday night and inside was full as well, this was at 7pm. So plan to be here early, I was here in early March, so summer would be reservations only I am sure. I ordered the full rack of ribs and I did not take a picture, but let me explain. It comes out with a BBQ rub on the ribs that literally you can, and I did; eat with a fork and knife. The meat just falls off of the bone, oh this was amazing. I mean seriously this is the tenderest meat on a Rib that I have every eaten. My waiter was amazing, I don't think my water glass every got empty and he took care of our table very well. So why 4 and not 5 stars, well this is a mixed bag for me. I would give it a 4.5 if I could, the only issue I had, is it got so loud in here I couldn't hear the person across from me at my table, I mean loud. I have no idea how you could come here and relax if you were on a date, but the food, so worth it. I highly recommend this place if you are anywhere near here. Not sure if I'll be back. It would only be to give them a chance to redeem themselves. The three stars is for the food quality alone. It took a solid 30 minutes for the server to acknowledge us, even after she was asked to take our orders by two other people at our table who arrived before us. When she finally came over, she wasn't apologetic or overly friendly. It was another ten minutes before our drinks arrived. Thankfully, our food came out quickly. My smokehouse nachos were actually pretty delicious. When we finally flagged down our server again, we ordered two drinks for everyone so we wouldn't be left with nothing again. read more

Decided to enjoy a patio lunch after a nice walk around the lake and was extremely satisfied with the service and food. I've noticed that dining out during-Covid-19 has been a little rough but it was quite the opposite here. Our server (forget her name) was very attentive and helped point out a few items on the menu. I have been excited to see a new restaurant group take over this location and hopefully make something better of it. GEIST NEEDS GOOD FOOD. pleaseeeeeeeee. I've been to other Wolfie's locations so I kinda knew that I shouldn't have my expectations too high when it came to the food. But I was hoping that maybe it would have some more and newer options at the Geist location. And my expectations were correct. The food was less than average. First off, don't even think about eating here if you are vegetarian, let alone vegan. I really get annoyed with restaurants that only offer salad as their vegetarian option. The only other vegetarian option was mac n cheese, which you had to add a dollar for steamed broccoli (lol). I am not vegetarian or vegan, but I am extremely picky about where my meat comes from - so I stick to a plant-based diet and when all else fails, I try to go with seafood. So I got the Ahi Tuna tacos. Literally it was a flour shell, with sliced ahi, wasabi, and shredded lettuce on top. I was honest with my server when he asked how it was and he asked what he could do to make it better - bless his soul. He came back with a ton of wasabi (lol - too hot!), some diced tomatoes, and cheese. I didn't really think any of that would help so I also asked for avocado. This helped slightly - but not much. The food definitely lived up to my low expectations. However, I love what they've done with the inside. Great atmosphere. The bar is awesome. Once again, this place is only good for the location. We have recently moved to the area (Hamilton County) and for our first date-night it was suggested we go to Wolfies on Geist -- We enjoyed every part of our experience !!! From the beers offered while we waited for our table to the delicious appetizers and entrees, we will definitely be back again !!! The only issue was the menu options all sounded tasty it was difficult to order because we wanted to try it all... the pork nachos and Wolfies seasoned wings we highly recommend, my fiancé had the ribs and I had the shrimp tacos... we left full and happy (the beers helped with that too) Also, if you go on a beautiful evening I suggest you sit in their patio area !!! read more

FINALLY. A well-known Indy NE side institution taking over a prime piece of real estate on Geist Reservoir! I've lived in the area for 7 years, and this is the first time I've been to this location due to the well, frankly, terrible places that have been here previously. On to the food/service! It was packed on a Wednesday night, but the weather was just about perfect so it was a great time to go! There is ample parking even though some people were already getting "creative". The nice thing about this place is that there are plenty of windows throughout so even if you end up in the dining room or bar, you still have lots of natural light and great views of the reservoir. This location is a bit different in that it's not quite as rustic/sporty as most of their other locations. That's likely due to the location, clientele, and layout. I like it! We were informed that there was about a 30 minute wait, but we were fine with that. Guess what! The host/hostess takes your phone number, and you get a text when your table is ready! No more carrying around pagers or having to listen for your name. There's actually a really nice waiting area down the hall where you can still sit on the patio, and you can order drinks! If I'm sitting on the patio with a drink in hand, I can wait for some time for a table! Libby was our server out there, and I liked her immediately (the sharing of a name helped)! I honestly don't know how long we waited, but we got a text and headed to our table. We had said we'd be willing to sit in the bar or first available since we weren't set on being on the patio. Well, it just so happened that they gave us a table on the patio! I think due to position, it was probably the best one out there. Keegan was our server, and he was very friendly but did seem a little new to the job. (That reminds me, it was so fun to see Debbie from the Fishers location in the bar area!) The menu is the same as at other locations so it was pretty easy to compare. I got one of my favorites - the fish tacos with fries. They were exactly as they should be! My husband got the Woodbury burger which he enjoyed, but the fries were a bit skimpy. (I told him to ask for more, but he declined.) There is also a covered patio area so it seems that even if it's raining but still warm out, you can get that outdoor dining experience. I noticed that there is an upstairs, but I believe that is for private parties/events. I'm very curious whether Wolfies will be taking reservations now for the fireworks over the bridge on Independence Day! Solid, solid Wolfies experience, and I know we'll be regulars! read more

Decided to give this place a try with the nice weather and views of Geist! The staff wasn't over friendly or helpful, and the service was kind of slow, so if this is important to you probably isn't the best spot for you, but I've had worse. You can dress up or down. There was a mix of dressy and people coming off the boat in athletic wear and swim attire, so I don't think there's necessarily a dress code. The margarita was okay, tasted like normal mix. I also tried the smokehouse nachos which were good. There were good flavors and the bbq pork was good, needed a tiny bit more queso though, over 3/4 if the chips were completely bare. Overall though this is a nice place for a quick casual snack or dinner with a gorgeous view. May be back again. read more

I love this restaurant for its location and outdoor seating right over the marina. But their food is mediocre at best. I've been here 3 times and have tried different items off the menu each time. The fish tacos have been the best and I do love their chips with salsa appetizer but everything else was just eh. This was our first Time to Wolfies Grill at Geist. We sat on their covered patio which was a nice atmosphere, and the atmosphere overall was really laid-back and what you would want being at a lake. I ordered the black and blue burger with bacon which was really good and had a great blue cheese sauce on it. Others in our group ordered the pork nachos but substituted chicken, which besides arriving to the table cold were tasty. Another ordered the chicken and mashed potatoes which he enjoyed and the last person in our party ordered the prime rib sandwich which they enjoyed as well. Overall the experience was good and so was the atmosphere. The only hang up was in regard to precautions for COVID. The staff had masks, however, many had them taken off or below their mouth when delivering food, and I also felt that the tables were fairly close together. read more

Food is ok, service is slow. Wolfies has a great menu, but never backed up by huge flavors or great service. The barrel room makes the stop worth it. Wraps are solid, salads need more as of late I had the salmon salad and they basically gave me 4oz of salmon very skimped. The fries were cold, but the hot toddy was good. I was honestly a bit disappointed with this place. I'm in town for the week and heard quite a bit about the other locations (this one opened up just a few weeks ago) so I thought I would try it out. To begin, when the hostess told us our table was ready and we can back inside, there seemed to be some confusion as to where we would sit as we had to wait another 10 minutes after being told otherwise. (I can understand that small things happen and this is fine) When we got to out table and ordered, it took about 45 minutes to get our food even after some other tables were clearing out. One person in our party of 8 ordered a wedge salad and they were out of it and they told him that they cooked his steak too long but still brought everyone else's meals out. He had to wait another 10 minutes for his and by the time I could start eating as to not be rude, my food was on the colder side. My sister and I both ordered the steak done medium and though mine was cooked fine, my sister's appeared to hardly be cooked. Even the others at our table who love their meat cooked rare said they wouldn't be eating it if it were them. My sister took it back and they took it off the bill, but by the time she would have ordered something else, everyone else would have been done with their meal so she ended up getting dessert back at the hotel restaurant. The broccoli that came with my meal was hardly cooked as well, but the potatoes were really good. Overall, the scenery is nice and the food was good for the most part. I know this is a new establishment so they have to get over some of the problems a new place has but hopefully they do soon. read more

Today I had the worst salad I've ever had at Wolfies. I have been coming here for years and normal order the salmon on the chicken salad ingredients. The normal chef must have been off as the salmon was tiny and over cooked. The sugared walnuts were over cooked. The raspberry dressing was thick like jam and there was so much wilted greens with only three mandarin oranges. The up charge for the salmon made it $21.00. We ate outside on the patio and it was lovely but both our meals were bad. read more
