I've been here a few times now and really want to like this place because it's close to my house and the food is decent. Just kind of keeps missing the mark. Council Oak prices but a Tin Cup experience. Service has been inconsistent each time. Big lack of attention to detail. I am glad my friends picked this place. We all had a good time here. The service was good. The food was great and the entertainment fabulous. The restaurant had a piano player and a good one. Her voice was great and the choice of music was enjoyable. We started with a lavender drinking. We then had the onion rings which were really good. They had a good flavor and crunch to them. I ordered the filet mignon which came with a vegetable garnish, literally lol. I ordered the crispy potato mash which was mashed potatoes with potato chips on top. It was good. Go on a Saturday night and you will have a great time! As soon as you step inside you're greeted by a smiling host that makes you feel extremely welcomed. The ambience inside is nice and relaxing and they even have a piano that someone plays in the evenings. To me that is a great touch. Makes for a great date night or chill night out with friends. For the food: To start, we had the sticky ribs. Those were sooo juicy and flavorful it had my mouth watering after each bite. We came here for my wife's birthday dinner. BLUF: food nor experience was worth the price. She decided she wanted steak to close out her birthday weekend. It was same day and wasn't sure how busy it would be but I easily made reservations on OpenTable, marked as birthday special occasion. When we arrived, the place was way smaller than expected but it was fine. I said we had reservations, they didn't ask a name and just seated us. It was super empty, only one other table that we could see. Ambiance was kinda confusing. It felt fancy, live piano, but projector in the middle of dining room advertising stuff. Menu definitely felt fancy. Pay for water type of place. We went with free tap water, but it's like you have to hesitate before you are offered that alternative. My wife got a fancy old fashioned which she said was good. We ordered the ribeye, filet mignon, crispy potatoes, and mac and cheese. We were hungry. We were wondering if we were gonna get free table bread. At least 10 minutes past before we got bread after we ordered. Two itty bitty rolls. Butter was soft and spreadable. No offer to give us more bread. Server never came by or was in view that we could even ask. A little fly kept buzzing around us. After we started questioning our life choices, our meals were brought out! So excited except we had no silverware. No one in sight to flag. After waiting a few, we were not waiting any longer. I got up to steal silverware from another table. That's when the host saw me needing something and made sure we got. Meats were fine. Nothing special. My wife ordered a special sauce with hers. She liked it enough but preferred the version served at Wildfire. Nothing special about my steak. I don't usually get ribeyes and I am reminded of how fatty and gristly they can be. Potatoes were good. Mac and cheese was a tough one. We both agreed it was thick/dense/decadent. Interpret how you will. The top had a nice cheesy crust. We both also agreed the bottom tasted like Velveeta cheese sauce. Just a very mono textured thick ass orange sauce. Not that it was bad but I had a lot of Velveeta growing up and that was the impression I got. For the price, definitely was expecting something different. The server did check in on us at least once to ask how food. No one came and refilled our water even once though. I definitely was out of water half way through the meal and left with an empty cup. The host came by part way through our meal to give each of us a rose which was a cute gesture. We did not order desert. I did not bring up the birthday other than on the reservation comments when I made it. I did not request anything but like to see what initiative is taken. No one asked if we were celebrating anything. Nothing special occurred /no acknowledgements made by the restaurant. Overall we spent $200. Could have had a much enjoyable experience elsewhere for that price. It's not like the place was super busy. About 2 other tables came while we were there.
