Really like the steaks and bourbon selection here. One of the largest bourbon selections in the area and tons of options for dinner with a great happy hour during the week. Service is always great and we enjoy when they have live music. The plates pair well with all other entrees and sandwiches but cutting a $60 steak on a plastic plate that makes a horrible sound isn't ideal. We arrived at CJ Blacks at 5:30 on a Friday night. Parking was simple and we were seated immediately. Nicole served us and she was very attentive. We started off with a pretzel as an appetizer. It was enough for a party of 8. It came in a pizza box with marinara sauce and cheese. We had the pretzel with mustard. It was very good. My friend and I had wings.and truffle fries. I thought they were really tasty. My other friend tried the Shrimp Cobb Salad. We all had to get to go boxes because we couldn't finish the ample portions. But we did have room for dessert. I've dined at CJ Blacks several times and it's always great. We have a favorite table that we reserve every time I go with friends. I have to mention servers Nicole and Carly, and bartenders Brandon and Dillan who always go above and beyond to make sure that our group is happy with our food and drinks. They have become like family and always greet us when they see us, whether they are serving us that day or not. It's kind of like a Cheers atmosphere :). My in-laws rave about the grouper sandwich from here so I'm glad I finally got to experience it for myself. Came for lunch on a weekday afternoon but luckily missed the midday lunch rush. I'm told this place is packed at lunch and dinner time. Service was lovely, everyone was very kind and helpful. Food did not disappoint. The menu shows that CJ Blacks has a lot to offer. My father-in-law decided to shake things up by testing out the sushi and said that it was pretty good. It's not better than an actual sushi place but he was surprised to enjoy the flavor of the sushi. My mother-in-law ordered the mahi sandwich, which she thoroughly enjoyed. My husband and I had the crunchy grouper and happy to say that it lives up to the hype! Delicious, hot, and crispy. The veggies on the sandwich were fresh and crisp. And we loved the animal sauce on the sandwich, we had to get three more sides of it. Serving sizes were pretty big so you'll definitely fill up. Inside is freezing though! Second time going after poor service. Thought I would give it a second chance as our first time was New Years Eve ( but it was 5pm and not even crowded). Once again, got a server that just didn't seem to be aware or care. The food is good, but you should expect problems. No re-filled water glasses, food you order that does not come and what does will not be correct. This time, two side items they forget, an item cooked incorrectly, and we got charged $9.00 extra for a double hamburger we didn't order. It seemed large, but I was unaware they even had that option. I don't complain, so we just paid it and left. I gave it another shot...too bad, the food is good but if the service is going to be like that, I just cant. An amazing bourbon bar for South Florida. They have two bars with amazing bartenders both Brandon and Mike on Sunday. Every Sunday there is live music which plays old rock and they are amazing. Some of my favorite foods are the Mongolian beef the grouper Rueben, flatbreads and believe it or not sushi. They have an amazing pretzel, fish dip and edamame appetizers. Looks like they're pretty slow and so they had only one server working all the tables. So Waited too long for waitress to make initial visit. And for our order to come it took a while never got any refills on our drinks or got any of the dishes picked up. We were in the mood for some good BBQ ribs before going to a Pumpkin Patch farm/nursery to celebrate autumn and the beautiful Fall day outside yesterday. I checked Yelp and we decided on CJ Black's. Soon as we walked in, we knew we came to the right place because we could smell those good flavors cooking! I loved the country style decor with the wooden cabinets and shelving, country tables and booths, the hanging lantern lamps, the wooden flooring, and the industrial style open ceiling! I really felt like I was in for good Southern style cooking! We were really looking forward to our dinner! Our server was Michael, who was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. He confirmed their Ribs were awesome. We both ordered the same thing, ribs! Oh my goodness, they were the best I've tasted in a long time!! The BBQ sauce was amazing and there was plenty of it. The pork just melted off the bones! Each bite was accompanied by an "mmm" from both of us. The fries were crispy but soft in the middle, so good. Our meal was perfection. The Chef served us and was so much fun to chat with! Michael checked on us several times. Michael asked if we wanted dessert and mentioned how good their choc chip cookie was with vanilla Gelato, so we gave in to temptation and shared it. It was very good. We hadn't eaten since breakfast. C.J.'s is a place I definitely need to visit more! We come here yearly with my work to do our holiday Christmas happy hour. I love that they are able to host our group and the staff are very accommodating. I also love that their happy hour is throughout the week and goes until 7pm. They have such a good deal on the variety of alcoholic beverages they have and good options. I definitely will be coming back soon! March 2026, came here with friends but I doubt I will be coming back. The inside of the restaurant is dark, and yes it has that rustic look, but turn up the lighting. When we sat down I noticed all the window panes need to be cleaned, looks like they haven't been cleaned for months, YEKS! Honestly, it tells me a lot about the restaurant and its upkeep because if the windows aren't cleaned I can imagine how the kitchen must look, YIKES! Our Server was wonderful she took great care of our table and I am giving her 5 STARS. My Burger was cooked the way I like it (medium rare) however it was too meaty and when I picked up the Bun, the Bun fell apart. I really had a hard time holding the Burger. It was so messy, I ended up using a fork and knife to finish it. But it tasted good no complaints there. The Sweet Potato Fries weren't bad either, but they came with a side sauce that was too sweet and tasted like cake frosting, a very weird combination. In my opinion change the sauce to something savory (salty). All and all, I have no plans visiting the restaurant again in the near future. read more

Wife came in from out of town this afternoon. We decided to stay home for the night. Thought we would order CJ Blacks which is one of our local spots. I ordered a Grouper Sandwich with fries. Fries seem like they have been sitting for a while and were hard. I know it's not always good when you order deliver, but the fish was cold but the kicker is there is no bun with this sandwich.
