If you haven't discovered Reve Coffee Lab yet, I have one question: are you okay? (Seriously, go…read morecheck them out.) This place was basically my second home during undergrad. I'm pretty sure the baristas remember my order better than I do. Here's what makes Reve worth the visit: - The coffee is legitimately phenomenal. They're all about quality over quantity, using science-based brewing and traditional standards to craft coffee that actually tastes like they care. Because they do. If instant gratification is your thing, Starbucks is down the street. If you want good coffee, you're in the right place. - The baristas actually know their stuff. They'll help you find exactly what you're looking for without making you feel clueless. Fair warning though: this is their coffee shop, and they're respectfully enthusiastic about doing things right. Treat them like the humans they are, and you'll have a genuinely great interaction. - The vibe hits different. It's cozy and intimate inside (compact in the best way), but if the weather's nice, the patio is where it's at--plenty of space, zero stress. Work, study, hang out with friends--it all just works here. If you care about good coffee, good people, and a space that actually feels like somewhere you'd want to be, Reve Coffee Lab is your spot.

The Whistle Stop is one of those neighborhood places that people just know about. We know now! Folks are friendly and knowledgeable and make wonderful coffees and delicious food. We went twice in a week (long story) and got cookies the first day and breakfast the second. It's the kind of place you'd hang out longer if you had time, although we didn't. Next time. And let me tell you, the cookies we had were the best we'd ever had. Big, soft, loaded with chocolate and macadamia and coconut for a magic combination we've never had anywhere else. It's almost a full meal. We're not local to Denham Springs, but visit occasionally. I ordered the ham, egg, and Swiss croissant, a chocolate chip cookie, and a latte. My only complaint is that I wish the coffee and sandwich had been served hotter. Still, the warm atmosphere more than made up for it. There are plenty of cozy seating areas both inside and outside that make you want to just sit and stay.

To be honest I have never considered having office coffee service because I am a coffee aficionado and just figured that a coffee service could never deliver Great Coffee and Great Service. (most coffee service companies leave a LOT to be desired) I have to say ... I was wrong. I get some of the freshest coffee on the planet delivered to my office every other week. They keep us supplied so we never run out of anything. Their team is super cool and easy to work with. I almost don't want to shout this too loud - but their pricing is almost the same as what others pay for crap coffee. If the word gets out maybe I won't get the best service any more?! But I doubt it! If you LOVE Great coffee you should give them a shout!!!

It was a large portion and delicious. I had the hot roast beef poboy. It was ok-could've used more roast beef. My husband ordered the sausage poboy-it was ok. He ordered pepper jack cheese, but the kitchen put so little cheese that we couldn't find it. He sent it back to the kitchen and they added more. The onion rings were a generous portion, but were undercooked. Tasted too much flour instead of crunchy crust. Overall, pretty good value for the money since 2 of us brought leftovers home, but not anything amazing to bring us back.

Service was friendly, but frustrating and inefficient, as our server would only stay at the table to hear what one person asked for and then would just about sprint away for that one thing before finding out what anyone else wanted. If stressed about serving a big top table in the bar area while also serving in the restaurant side, I would suggest grouping together a few tasks at once instead of doing one thing at a time. I will say, the chargrilled oysters and the sausage app were good. But the main food was not good. I had the fried catfish special, topped with etouffee. The fried catfish was mushy and the fry too dark, the etouffee had too much flour (too thick) and was too pale, and the dessert cake was gross. My husband was excited to order the redfish, which was okay at best and very disappointing - overcooked and dry. We had been excited to revisit this place since it had been years since we came here, but we probably would only return for beer and apps next time.
