Every time I'm around the way in this area, I always stop by Monty. Their salads are delicious and filling as well as their pasta. I love that you can either select what they have or make your own. They have unlimited option. Now good food does cost much these days, so they can be pretty expensive. They also sell some good ole fashion NYC style pizzas. Dining in is also available. I think their food is pretty good and have been in there a few times a month for years as I have to pass right by it frequently; I just learned however that their customer service is abominable and I absolutely won't go back and I'll let a couple of people I know who eat there what happened. I ordered 2 menu items on grubhub for the first time as opposed to just walking in. They sent a partial refund for one item leaving on the order one menu item for $14 and fees, tax, tip for over $14 for a total of $28. They sent an email instead of calling or texting and by the time I saw the email, the driver was here. I called and spoke with one of the rudest women in customer service I ever have encountered who didn't see anything wrong with not calling or testing, told me I had to deal with Grubhub, cut me off when I started to respond, said "I'm too busy to deal with this" and hung up. Grubhub refused to issue a full refund and I kind of get their point, however I never in a million years would have ordered one menu item for which the total was less than all the fees added on. I'm toying with the idea of doing a CC chargeback however this is not really Grubhub's fault so I likely won't. This is squarely on the restaurant. I never looked at their reviews before because I never had an issue. They're reasonably friendly and polite when you walk in there. Items missing are an unusual occurrence but do happen. This is the first time the restaurant hasn't had the courtesy to call or text. Shame on them. read more

The food was very good. I had the bolognese pasta, my parents had a chicken sandwich and customizable salad. My parents really enjoyed their food as did I. The sauce on my pasta was to die for (clearly not store bought.) A little bit overpriced but nothing too outrageous. However I do not like how there are no refills, we payed 3.75 for a whole other drink. Although,the service was quick and easy and the owner was kind when I asked about the restrooms. After attending a ceremony at St Francis College today, I headed on over to Monty Q's for the very first time. It was kind of a shot in the dark as I was starving and didn't check any Yelp previews. I was pleasantly surprised! I got a pepperoni slice and it was quite delicious. I actually haven't ordered a pepperoni slice since junior high school but a fresh pie had just come out of the oven and it was calling my name. Also ordered a few garlic Knots but at $1 each, they seemed a little "pricey." But then again... we are in Brooklyn Heights here. They was ultra smothered in garlic, just like I like them and they were indeed very tasty. I'll be back for sure the next time I'm in the area! read more

Passed by a gazillion times but honestly do not recall if I've eaten here--ever. Maybe a quick slice years ago, but even then---not sure. In the area today and looking for something satisfying and fairly quick, we decided to dine in at Monty Q's. The space was big and clean and it appeared that the counter was endless in length between the pasta bar and the pizza section. (Order at the counter as there is no table service). Yes, there is a make your own pasta bar with various toppings. For those who are carb conscious or gluten sensitive, there's the option of zucchini pasta. I'm in! to try that. I also saw an ad for vegetarian zucchini meatballs. I'm leaning more and more away from meat these days (except poultry and seafood). It's good to know that Monty Q's caters to those who are vegetarian. We decided to order an 18" margarita pizza (we were undecided with some other varieties such as white truffle. Next time). It was suggested by the owners? to check the prices online for accuracy as the menu has changed. (Note, our pie was $18.95, 8 slices). A few minutes and $28 later (including three sodas), the pizza arrived to our table, piping hot and looking amazing. The slice passed the test of holding up perfectly. 2 1/2 slices later, I was satiated, satisfied and pleased with this pizza experience. I don't know how their pizza fares by the slice but there seems to be a huge selection. Sometimes, simplicity works best and less is more. This was a crowd pleaser today! read more

My Marriott hotel's concierge recommended Monty Q's to me because of its thin crust pizza and simple "grab and go" method of serving pizza. I didn't want to waste time at an actual sit down restaurant so Monty Q's seemed like the answer to my busy day. To start off with more of the positives, I really liked the crust here. I got one of the plainer pizzas with cheese and marinara. While the toppings weren't too impressive the flavor and texture of the bread made up for it. I did also try the garlic rolls, which in my opinion could have used more garlic flavor. The place overall felt very commercial. When I think of good, old fashioned New York pizza Monty Qs is not the first that comes to mind. Don't get me wrong, the pizza here is good. However, I'm not sure I like to be met with a salad bar and very basic Italian decor when I walk inside. It almost seemed like Monty Qs tried to give this Italian vibe but tried too hard to do so. This place was not the hole-in-the-wall type pizza joint I wanted to try. As for service, the individuals behind the counter were stressed and as a result were very short/stern with their answers. My advice would be to skip this place if you are looking for pizza that is representative of New York. read more

It has always seem very busy with a long line always out the door at lunch time . What I like most about this place they have more than one option if you're in the mood for a bite to eat Let's also talk about what they have to offer , from salads made to your liking , to pastas made with regular pasta or for the health conscious zucchini noodles, and then they have a wide variety of different pizzas where you can never go bored when placing your order. The place is spacious you can eat in or order your meal to go, it us also kid friendly as they do have high chairs and is great for crowds. The place is well lit, with booth style seating on the right when you walk in, and more tables towards the back, once the ordering bar on the left stops. We ended up getting slices to dine in and we thoroughly enjoyed the offerings. The staff warmed up the slice juusssttt right, and we had options for toppings to add on our own. These are big New York slices, so one was more than enough for each of us. Everything was quickly taken care of and the staff was very friendly, chatting us up on what they recommend from the different pizza options. I also noticed that the place delivers with their own branded bikes parked outside. This is an added plus - making this place an option for those cold nights that won't get you outside. Monty Qs restaurant is a great restaurant filled with a plethora of food. This restaurant has a great salad bar filled with different greens , vegetables and toppings. There is also a pasta section where you can request several pasta dishes while also choosing your preferred pasta penne , spaghetti etc. Asides from the pasta and salad , there is also a pizza section that is close to the register . My favorite pizza at this restaurant is the all American which I suggest everyone to try . All in all this is a great restaurant to go to for quick meals that's aren't too expensive . read more

We had lunch delivered from Monty's during jury duty. They came on time and had the order correct. What's impressive is that they even separated the orders. Everybody's order was in a separate bag. I ordered the whole-wheat penne pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage, $12.50. Cooking whole wheat pasta is not easy. The pasta came a little overdone but it was still okay with me. The rest of my pasta was delicious I loved the sausage and broccoli rabe. For the price, the portion was okay. Four stars for food minus 1 star for customer service Monty Q's is in Montague Street in Brooklyn - clever, I get it This place gets more crowded than a Hong Kong bus station during rush hour, so avoid peak times like lunch. The food is fresh because there is so much turnover. In other words, they moving product almost as quickly as they making them so with pizza, you don't get that mozzarella cheese that looks like congealed body fat because it's been sitting there for two days, like some other places (but never at the $1 pizza places in city - I've seen pizza being slid direct from the oven right into a patrons throat!). Pizza is good. Good crust, sauce tasty (def not Prego or Ragu), and good portion of mozzarella. I had some of the sandwiches as well - good ratio of meat:vegetable, and I got a dipping sauce for it. One food complaint would be fountain drinks are not particularly in the favor of customers - they pack so much ice in the cup it's borderline ridiculous. i think there's enough space for 8 drops of my mandatory diet coke. When i complained about too much ice, i think they flicked one off the top of the cup. Not this is why this place sucks...customer service. I have to say, the cashiers that work up front are quite curt, but worse is they appear to be the most miserable people on earth. Maybe they getting stiffed on pay, maybe they got family troubles or something else, but management should be smart and place them in back or something. i made the mistake of watching them while i was scarfing down my pizza and i spiraled into a deep depression, lost my appetite and just wanted to cry thank God i don't work in Brooklyn anymore so i don't have to see such a miserable sight. read more
