It's not in a fancy area of town by any means but if you're looking for authentic and reasonably priced Filipino food like we had a craving for today, you've hit the jackpot! Plenty of parking in the front. The smell of delicious food welcomes you when you walk in. Your mouth will water when you see the 6+ options of ulam ready for you. Peak around and you'll see all of the desserts your heart desires if you're missing home. From Turon to leche flan and Sapin Sapin, our cravings for sure were satisfied! I ordered the 2 entree plate with rice which was less than $15 (insane and unheard of these days!). I got the kare kare and beef steak. Both were delicious and the portions were big enough for both my lunch and dinner! I also had their lumpia sariwa and almost grabbed 10 when I saw it was only $2.99! Definitely grabbing more of these next time! I didn't wander through the aisles in fear of finding even more things to fall in love with but from where I sat, I saw all of the fixings if you're making halo halo and the cooler had all the options of drinks you can imagine - guava juice, coconut, calamansi, they have it! Finally got to stop by this place during lunch on a cold, rainy day. Filipino food sounded hot and comforting on a day like this. It's a pretty big grocery store. I didn't get to explore it much today, but the hot food counter is right when you walk in. I was instantly greeted and felt very welcome; the lady at the counter was extremely helpful. I wanted a plate with pancit, adobo, and lechon, and she said they had all of it. I also wanted to grab some lumpia and longanisa, but I decided to save that for my second trip. This massive plate, easily enough for two meals, came out to just under $13, which is insane. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes with hot food in hand. In terms of value, time, and service, this place is already killing it. But is the food good? It was perfect and exactly what I wanted today. Filipino cuisine isn't the healthiest, admittedly, just like one of my own cuisines, Mexican food. Probably best in moderation, but I digress. Sometimes you just want to indulge, and that's okay. From my limited knowledge, Filipino food is very meat-heavy, so come prepared for really flavorful, fatty, and meaty dishes. Now, onto the plate. The lechon, one of my all-time favorites, was perfectly crispy, juicy, and succulent. It was amazing dipped in what I believe is a liver-based sauce called "sarsa." It isn't really liver-y or gravy-like in flavor. Only the texture is gravy-like. The taste is sweet, tangy, and slightly acidic. Honestly, one of the most balanced sauce-to-meat combos ever. Perfect. The pork adobo was really good, too. I usually prefer chicken adobo, but pork is customary. It was definitely richer than the lechon, still delicious, but a lot to finish in one sitting. I always love the stewed texture and aromatic flavors of adobo. The pancit was a little different from what I'm used to. It seemed like it was cooked with a sauce and had a thicker noodle mixed in with the more familiar glass noodles, but it was still delicious. I loved that there were lots of veggies and even pieces of pork in it. This is a great place to stop by and indulge. They are serving excellent food and portions at a very commendable price point. I will definitely be back to try more, especially some of their baked goods like señorita bread. Awesome experience. I was happy to have found this place recently as I did not know it existed. It's also nice that there's a Filipino place up north bc mostly it's in South Sac/Elk Grove area. I really liked how the prices of their a la carte hot food items were reasonable. My favorite was the fresh lumpia and the lunch combo items. One of my coworkers wanted the fried lumpia Shanghai so I was able to get some for lunch. Overall, I'd come back here to buy hot food items and groceries for certain Filipino dishes. I ordered catering for my son's birthday and the food was a hit! I got a full tray of pancit for less than $60 and I thought I was transported back to the 2000's because the size of the tray for that price was HUGE. It could have easily fed 40-50 people. I also got chicken apritada, puto, kutsinta, and bibingka. Everything was so so good with my personal fave being the kutsinta and bibingka. No question that you're in Filipino territory when there's a CRT TV playing retro episodes of Darna (Filipino Wonder Woman). Average pancit (stir-fried noodles). Strange mix of very tender and very tough beef pieces in the bistek (braised beef) but still tasty nonetheless. Very comforting ginataang bilo-bilo (warm coconut milk dessert w/ various ingredients like glutinous rice balls, jackfruit, and taro chunks.....no skimping on these ingredients here which I appreciate!). The real treasure here though is the turon (banana lumpia), which for some reason is now quite hidden behind the counter of Saran-wrapped cooked food. Crunch-tactic and not overly sweet (some places go too overboard with the glaze coating). The banana piece in it is a bit mushier than typical but I personally prefer it this way. Thick slice of jackfruit in the turon as well. I'd say it's definitely worth checking this spot just for the turon especially if you already happen to be in the area lol. In addition to the hot foods area there is a section that is pretty much like a condensed version of the frozen and dry goods departments of a Seafood City/Island Pacific Filipino grocery store. read more

This lumps joint is the ONE. Period. Best recommendation is to call in an order that's 1/2 pan/sheet or more at least one day ahead. I took a whole pan of their mini size without calling and they said they prefer to get the cal ahead so there's enough for everyone. Super considerate! It's wedged in a small nondescript shopping center along Watt Avenue with other ethnic enterprises in a rundown part of town. Don't despair because once you go inside the store, it's as if you've traveled to the P.I. thousands of miles away, you'll feel right at home. A bonus of this place is they serve Filipino food, turo-turo style, where ready-to-eat hot food is yours just by pointing at the item. That's what turo-turo means, literally translating to point-point. And if you further the language lesson, the place is what's called a sari-sari store, which loosely translates to variety-variety store. The fried banana in spring roll wrapper was so delicious. I should have bought more. Very friendly young man. The hot food looks delicious if I hadn't decided to eat some raleys fried chicken, kale salad and wedges. I would have easily settled for any of those dishes. Especially the fried fish. My first time driving all the way out here to get a Filipino lunch plate on my work day. It's a charming mom and pop store. It reminded me of the mom and pop stores I grew up with while living in Hawaii. Each corner has one of these at the time. When you first walk in, right away and you can't miss it...is their glass case of food for meals. Longanisa, lumpia, pancit etc etc. the portions were big. We're glad we stumbled upon this place on our way home to Fairfield , we are hungry and looking for a place to eat. Lady at the counter was nice, the food we ordered was good though a bit cold but it was late in the afternoon and most of the foods are gone. We also bought breads, fresh lumpia ( this was so good and cheap), maja blanca ( love this) and other Filipino snacks to go, we missed the turon, another lady bought all of it, so it must be good. Their prices are way cheaper than the asian stores we have in our place,we cant believe the amount we paid considering we bought alot of stuff. Still finding hidden gems here in the Sacramento area. Was browsing Yelp and typed in Asian Grocery close to Fair Oaks, and PEENOY GROCERY popped up. Told Mom about it and she wanted to check it out. Not far from the house which is a plus instead of driving all the way out to Elk Grove for the big super market. Small store that could use a little cleaning up but I like to support the mom and pops as much as I can. Their hot food deli was bustling with customers, possibly because it was lunch time. But if there's that many people waiting in a time where we're SIP, I can only imagine what it's like on the regular. They also have tables to sit and eat your plates but closed at the moment. From what I can remember seeing in the hot deli: lumpia, lechon, pinakbet, pancit, afritada, tinola, longanisa, diniguan... and a few others. Didn't order anything but I am curious how the lechon is. When I originally called to see if they were open and if they had hot food, the lady told me hot food is ready by 11AM. Good to know for future reference. They also have a variety of fresh housemade desserts like sapin sapin, suman malagkit, cascaron/ carioca, turon, puto, and cuchinta. They also carry desserts made from a bakery in Stockton as well as Valerios. You can also get your walis ting ting or walis tambo there.Varieties of filipino groceries. Small spot but I love going here for my bags of rice and their lechon is fire. The people that work there are nice.

Really scary from the outside especially since I'm not familiar with the area. I almost did not want to check it out because of all the homeless people around the corner from their storefront. But I drove by again around lunch and there were lots of Filipinos's there for lunch so I decided to give it a shot. I got a 2 entree meal with pork adobo and mechado, plus rice and pansit for about $8.50. They're very generous and even out adobo sauce on my rice without me asking for it. I had half for my lunch and the other half for dinner, that's how much food they give you. I've been craving adobo and this totally hit the spot. It was a perfect balance of fatty pork with leaner cuts. The sauce was just the right balance of salty and tangy. Service was good. The area where the food was served was clean and well maintained. The rest of the food looked fresh because they just brought out the food when I walked in. Everything looked good and appetizing. I had a hard time choosing which 2 items to get. I didn't really go beyond the front counter. They had the usual items (baked good, peanuts, pastries). I think I will give them a try next time I'm in the area. read more

I was so excited to go to this store after reading the review, but i was very disappointed. The Bibingka was dry and had a bitter taste. The Pinakbet was blah. The BBQ had a lot of fat-more fat than meat. The kare kare was nothing to rave about. I thought it was ox tail but it did not look like ox tail. just the regular meat. The pancit had very little sahog. I will not go back to this store again. Although they had a lot of Magnolia Ice Cream with different flavors. I bought two that i have not eaten yet. read more
