    pancit, lechon, and chicken

How does this hole in the wall place not have a five star rating with their food quality and prices? I got their lunch special - lechon, pancit, and chicken. It was amazing! The lechon was fresh and not just sitting there. The food was on point. EVERYONE MUST come and try! You WILL NOT regret! They also have traditional filipino desserts as well, for a fraction of the prices of other Filipino places in Sac. that I have visited. Come and support the local mom and pop shop!

Finally got to stop by this place during lunch on a cold, rainy day. Filipino food sounded hot and comforting on a day like this. It's a pretty big grocery store. I didn't get to explore it much today, but the hot food counter is right when you walk in. I was instantly greeted and felt very welcome; the lady at the counter was extremely helpful. I wanted a plate with pancit, adobo, and lechon, and she said they had all of it. I also wanted to grab some lumpia and longanisa, but I decided to save that for my second trip. This massive plate, easily enough for two meals, came out to just under $13, which is insane. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes with hot food in hand. In terms of value, time, and service, this place is already killing it. But is the food good? It was perfect and exactly what I wanted today. Filipino cuisine isn't the healthiest, admittedly, just like one of my own cuisines, Mexican food. Probably best in moderation, but I digress. Sometimes you just want to indulge, and that's okay. From my limited knowledge, Filipino food is very meat-heavy, so come prepared for really flavorful, fatty, and meaty dishes. Now, onto the plate. The lechon, one of my all-time favorites, was perfectly crispy, juicy, and succulent. It was amazing dipped in what I believe is a liver-based sauce called "sarsa." It isn't really liver-y or gravy-like in flavor. Only the texture is gravy-like. The taste is sweet, tangy, and slightly acidic. Honestly, one of the most balanced sauce-to-meat combos ever. Perfect. The pork adobo was really good, too. I usually prefer chicken adobo, but pork is customary. It was definitely richer than the lechon, still delicious, but a lot to finish in one sitting. I always love the stewed texture and aromatic flavors of adobo. The pancit was a little different from what I'm used to. It seemed like it was cooked with a sauce and had a thicker noodle mixed in with the more familiar glass noodles, but it was still delicious. I loved that there were lots of veggies and even pieces of pork in it. This is a great place to stop by and indulge. They are serving excellent food and portions at a very commendable price point. I will definitely be back to try more, especially some of their baked goods like señorita bread. Awesome experience. I've said in other reviews how much I love traditional grocery stores that also serve hot food. Very fortunate to have so many to explore in the North Highlands area.

Gross. Very overpriced. I was extremely mad regarding the babinka it was dry, hard and old. There is no prices listed in the hot food area. The lechon goes by weight and the longanisa was $1.59 each sausage. Like wtf. Expensive and overpriced. It's little shop filled with Filipino and Asian food and ingredients. It's right by work.

I was happy to have found this place recently as I did not know it existed. It's also nice that there's a Filipino place up north bc mostly it's in South Sac/Elk Grove area. I really liked how the prices of their a la carte hot food items were reasonable. My favorite was the fresh lumpia and the lunch combo items. One of my coworkers wanted the fried lumpia Shanghai so I was able to get some for lunch. Overall, I'd come back here to buy hot food items and groceries for certain Filipino dishes. They don't have a lot of American items bc it's a Filipino store so I'd come here for the hard-to-find Filipino sauces or other cooking items.

I wanted to stop by for lunch. A bit intimidating since it was my first time. I chose a couple things and they were pretty good! I would come back again.

This place has been around since 1995 as purveyors of uniquely Filipino food and merchandise. If your goal is to cook Philippine cuisine, then you've found the place to get the right ingredients. It's wedged in a small nondescript shopping center along Watt Avenue with other ethnic enterprises in a rundown part of town. Don't despair because once you go inside the store, it's as if you've traveled to the P.I. thousands of miles away, you'll feel right at home. A bonus of this place is they serve Filipino food, turo-turo style, where ready-to-eat hot food is yours just by pointing at the item. That's what turo-turo means, literally translating to point-point. And if you further the language lesson, the place is what's called a sari-sari store, which loosely translates to variety-variety store. Aren't you glad you read this review and learned a couple of phrases? And when you stop by, say hi to Ellen, the pinoy products maven who has owned this cultural joint for better than a quarter century. If you are Filipino, it's great to support your kababayan. Salamat po.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience at Four Season Market in Sacramento, CA was upsetting…read moreand honestly concerning as a parent. I purchased clearance food items that I later realized -- without even opening them -- were clearly not fresh and not safe to eat. This is especially serious to me because I have children, and I rely on stores to sell food that is safe for families. What makes this worse is that I was told in the store that these products were "safe" and that employees buy them themselves. When I returned to request a refund, one associate initially said it would be accepted. However, the same employee who originally reassured me suddenly refused, became visibly upset, and told me "it's the law" that they cannot take the items back. That statement is misleading -- stores cannot avoid responsibility for selling food that is not safe for consumption. On top of that, during the same visit I was overcharged for other items compared to the posted prices, which added to my frustration and concern about how this business operates. This was not just poor customer service -- it raises serious concerns about food safety and consumer rights. I strongly recommend that others carefully inspect any items before purchasing here and double-check prices at checkout.

Hello to the fresh sturgeon steaks that called my name. My favorite fish is very hard to find and super expensive. These steaks per pound seemed way cheaper than any other meat or fish since this economy jumped into the handbasket. The sturgeon was delicious grilled and seasoned with a little duck fat oil amd lemon. I also got some enormous thick loin lamb chops and some veal stew to make my mother's fabulous veal saute (on the stove as we speak) recipe. They had real almond macaroons and an amazing assortment of Ukrainian, Russian, and Armenian delicacies and staples. When I came in for my interview, the owner flat out, asked whether I was married. I found that question odd and said I was married. After that, the interview felt over, he didn't ask any more questions about my experience or anything at all in fact. He took a phone call, paced around while talking, didn't tell me to wait, and then opened the door as if I should leave. I tried to hand him my résumé; he only nodded and didn't take it, so I left it on his desk and walked away. He never called me back, which didn't surprise me. My friend later said that once he found out she was engaged he would make passive aggressive jokes about her fiancé, questions like "Who is this fiancé you keep talking about?" or "When's the wedding? It's been a while." She often felt uncomfortable around him. About a month ago I went in to buy a cake. I'm not familiar with Slavic cakes, so I asked to try a piece. The worker let me taste it, and I asked them to cut it in half so I could buy one piece. At other Slavic stores (including this one), unless a cake is sold boxed, they'll cut to size. When she cut it, she then insisted I had to buy both half. I told her I only wanted one; she got irritated and said she'd get in trouble because the leftover half was small. If it's sold only whole, that should have been stated up front when I ask to cut them. I ended up spending about $50, which felt excessive. My aunt was upset too and said the worker had lied and forced me to buy the other half. The store itself is okay. Don't buy the potatoes, they're often rotten or moldy. They always have beets and dill, which is great. I love the hot food staff; they're always sweet, friendly, and patient!
