    Egg foo young

Wow!!! What an amazing fresh dinner we had tonight! We enjoyed chicken chow fun, shrimp chow fun, shrimp egg foo young, fried calamari, fried vegetable egg rolls, and mixed vegetables! Fresh, fresh, fresh and delicious. New cook is certainly talented.

I am definitely disappointed in Green Jade as I've heard pretty decent things about this place so I decided to try them out. I ordered shrimp with Lobster sauce with a side of white rice considering their prices as a little on the higher side I had high hopes for the food. I did order my food to go. The inside is kind of on the dark side it is plenty of seating in the dining area it's located in an old strip mall and the staff is nice. Fast forward. I get my order and I get home and I am less than pleased with what I received. To play almost $20 why did I only get 4 shrimp yes 4 shrimp in my shrimp and lobster sauce. It was a lot of veggies, but mostly water chestnuts which didn't help. I called the restaurant and they said that's the amount of shrimp it comes with and if I didn't want it I could return the food and get my money back. Say less! I happily returned my food and got my money back and got Chinese food elsewhere that isn't going to fleece me. Will I come back here? Nope! It's a hard pass for me. I want my monies worth and the portions are small to say the least for the price paid.

I was with a friend running errands and visiting family in Carmichael and we decided to stop at Green Jade for an early dinner. Hadn't been there in a while and it sounded good. We were seated as soon as we walked in. We actually got there minutes before 2 large groups came in. There is plenty of seating, booths and tables. The decor is a little dated but not terrible. We ordered our food and sodas and it all came out pretty quickly, maybe too quickly, but it was good. We had the honey walnut shrimp, garlic chicken, egg rolls and pork fried rice. It was all hot and yummy. The rice was a little salty but we did get the pork fried rice. The honey walnut shrimp is my favorite and there was plenty of shrimp. I hadn't had the garlic chicken before but it was pretty good too. Service was quick. We ate our fill and had plenty leftover to take home. I well definitely return to Green Jade.

Great service. The food was served immediately. Great food too. Everything tasted good.

Menu as of December 17th. Picked this up with our to-go order.

Picked up a to-go order yesterday because we were craving Chinese food and they were close by. Also because we used to really like this restaurant. (We haven't been back for a while because of all the upheaval with the change of ownership or whatever the hell was going on with them, and because the last order we got from them was abysmal.) I will say that the food this time was nice and hot! and ready super fast. The downside for that is that the extremely cheap styrofoam trays that they now use were starting to melt because of the nice hot food. Do better Green Jade! Don't cheap out on your containers. They were so misshapen that one of them leaked all over the bag because it didn't hold its shape when the hot food was put in. As far as the food goes, the pork chow mein noodles were pretty good-we'd actually wanted Chow Fun but they were out when we called. We also ordered orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp anda large steamed rice. The portions were good on the chow mein and the orange chicken. Not so much on the honey walnut prawns which were pretty overcooked but still tasted pretty good. Additionally don't forget, this is honey WALNUT prawns; you're supposed to put walnuts in it remember? The food didn't justify the 50 plus dollars we spent on three entrees and a large rice. I would give four stars for customer service and three stars for food issues. I really wish they would go back to the way they used to be when they were top of the line back in the day. We really miss that.

I really wanted to love this place. I called in an order and when they told me the family combo I got would be ready in 10 minutes, I had a feeling fresh would not be a possibility. I got to the restaurant within 7 minutes and it was already packaged and ready to go. It wasn't fresh unfortunately. I gave 2 stars because the wonton soup was good and hot but the rest of the food was less than stellar. The sweet and sour chicken didn't have enough sauce for even half of the order. The rice tasted a few days old. I attached a picture of what our Mongolian beef looked like. If you love a ton of onions and a few pieces of beef...then order this dish! Over all...I'll stick with what I know to be good in Carmichael.

Green jade dinner for two with 3 pieces of meat on the Mongolian beef. Will never go back.

The service was impeccable from the moment that we walked in. That includes being greeted right away. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive and on top of the details. We ordered some pretty standard items off the menu to please everyone-vegetable chow mein, lemon chicken and pot stickers. Even though these might sound like boring dishes, they actually came out with such flair! The presentation on the dishes were gorgeous. They tasted amazing as well. I love the lighting of the restaurant. It gave it such a chill vibe. It's on a very busy street but you've never know it once you walk in it kind of feels like you are more tucked away in a smaller neighborhood.. I'm definitely looking forward to the next visit where I can try some more items like their Korean short ribs, I'd love to try some of their Curry's and a lot more of their chef specials!

The lady at the front was super friendly, and I got my General Chicken combo plate in under 10 minutes for under $12. I usually go for something a little more adventurous when it comes to protein options, but I wanted a baseline to judge it off of. And honestly? Solid choice. The chow mein was perfect--I really love a thick, glossy noodle. The fried rice was good too. I'm not usually a fan, but I saw the appeal this time, especially when you get a little of that General Chicken sauce mixed in. Might ask next time if they can do all chow mein, though. The chicken itself was sweet and tangy, just like you'd expect, but the pieces were surprisingly big and meaty. And the meat was actually tender, which feels unheard of for Chinese takeout--so many places over-fry their chicken to the point of no return. Not the case here. The restaurant is in a small shopping mall off the beaten path, but the inside is quite charming in its own way. I probably wouldn't opt to eat in, but for waiting on my order, I had no complaints. I'll definitely be back--I'm looking forward to trying more of their protein options, especially the shrimp ones. For the price, this is a great deal considering it was enough food for me to have it for both lunch and dinner. Stop giving your money to Panda Express!

The No. 1 China Express is practically next door with a clean exterior and a new modern sign. I've ordered from China Express before, so I was determined to give Wong's a try. I ordered through a link on Yelp's website thinking it was directly associated with the business and the lady owner told me to call them directly to save a few dollars. The third party website charges about 5% for ordering through them. It took me around 25 minutes to arrive and they had my order ready. I ordered chicken green beans, house eggplant, sweet and sour pork, orange chicken, broccoli beef. The prices are really reasonable and they fill the trays. Average entree was 13.00 when I'm used to seeing 16-17 dollars in other places. I'm not going to tell you everything was tasty because most dishes weren't seasoned better even though there were plenty of sauce in each dish. The batter on the sweet and sour pork, orange chicken was falling off and mushy by the time I got home. To be fair, Cantonese food tends to to be less salty, so having your own oyster or fish sauce will help save these dishes. If you like quantity over quality, this place is for you. Prices are reasonable also, so in this economy, it's time to be less picky. I will be back, remember to order by phone and save the fees.

Customer Service: 0/10 It was our first time here, and the staff did not greet us when we walked in. We ordered our food from a kiosk, and the young Asian lady working didn't even inform us that there was self-serve water or where to find to-go boxes; we had to figure it out ourselves and go ask. Worse, she completely ignored my daughter when she tried to ask a question, literally trying to make herself look busy even though she knew my daughter was speaking to her. During our meal, we noticed that while she completely ignored us, she actively greeted and thanked the other customers who came in after us. When we left, she was standing right at the cash register and completely ignored us again. It is incredibly disappointing to see an employee be so selective about who they want to greet and provide decent customer service to. Furthermore, whether she is part of the family that owns the place or not, her attire was entirely inappropriate for a work environment--she was wearing black-and-white checkered pajama pants with an oversized t-shirt. Professionalism and basic courtesy seem entirely missing here. Please do better. Food Review: * Cucumber Salad: Had no flavor. It was basically just sliced cucumber tossed with some sesame oil.
