Order: Vegetable Egg Roll, Hot and Sour Soup, BBQ Spare Ribs, Shrimp with Beansprouts, Steamed Shrimp with Vegetables, and Orange Beef Have you ever had CELERY and CARROTS in your hot and sour soup? Have you ever had Orange beef where the texture and sound made you feel you were chewing on chicken bones? Maybe you've had sticky white rice that was barely even sticky...? Well, you can have all of those things and more at Wong's. This is literally the absolute worst Chinese food I've ever eaten!!! The ONLY redeeming dish was the steamed shrimp with vegetables. That was the only one even my dog was begging for. Unfortunately, that wasn't worth giving them one star back. I did not take a pic of the BBQ ribs or the Shrimp and bean Sprouts I ordered. The ribs LOOKED quite delicious but the sauce on them tastes like it had cinnamon or nutmeg in it. Definitely an interesting choice. As for the Shrimp with Beansprouts, well I am just tired of snapping pics of gross food but trust it was sloppy mess. The bean sprouts were soggy and it was positively drowning in sauce. I'm telling you, this restaurant really made me doubt the quality of all the other Chinese restaurants I've ever been to in my entire life. I actually had to look up recipes to see if all other restaurants have been preparing my food incorrectly. I will tell you..:they have not. Wongs is the only Chinese food restaurant where you will have celery and carrots in your hot and sour soup...BBQ spareribs that will taste like Autumn potpourri and orange beef so crispy/old/burnt (?) it's doubtful it even has any beef in it. It was absolutely perfect if I had ordered Fried Cardboard though or Chicken Wings without the flesh. So, if that's your kind of thing, eat up!! I'd suggest however that you heed this warning and any other negative review. I beg of you. Please!! **Side note: I would definitely have returned it if it weren't below 20 degrees and snowy outside.

Affordable and delicious. Best Egg Foo Young in Rochester. The owner is very sweet and always remembers us. Prices are outstanding. Online ordering is a breeze as well.

With such a variety of defenders and detractors I had to try Wong's for myself. If you're looking for spice and heat I'm not sure what to tell you to get it to the level you want here. Thanks to Daniel W. I specifically asked for my dish to be spicy but alas the garlic chicken not so much. Maybe I didn't put enough eeeeee's in my eeeeeeextra spicy request. There was a good amount of sauce. It was cooked very well, tender chicken with vegetables still retaining a crisp. I found the hot and sour soup not very flavorful either but chuck full o tofu. Everything looked and tasted fresh with a good ratio of elements. The order was ready quickly and they were very friendly.

Solid American Chinese. Nothing over the top, but a general decent quality that I expect. Cheese wonton was lacking in filling and flavor, so I'll pass on those again. General Tso chicken was a little light on flavor, maybe light on msg, which may not be a bad thing to everyone. Overall good place compared to most I've had in the area so far.

Not too crazy about the beef and broccoli or the steamed dumplings. Sesame chicken was good as well as the fried rice.

Just try their Ho Fun noodles. You'll want to thank me! Reasonably priced. Few Chinese places offer Ho Fun. Go for it!

The spot has that old-school Chinese takeout vibe: simple, clean, and focused on flavor, not flash. --- What I Ordered: General Tso's Chicken Shrimp Lo Mein Crab Rangoons Egg Roll Steamed Dumplings --- General Tso's Chicken: Sweet, spicy, and crispy - exactly how it should be. The sauce had a good kick without overpowering the flavor. Chicken was tender inside with that golden crunch. Easily one of the best in the area. Shrimp Lo Mein: Noodles were cooked just right - not too greasy, not too dry. Shrimp was fresh and had good bite. Could use a little more garlic or soy for depth, but still solid. Crab Rangoons: Creamy, crunchy, and packed with flavor. These were a hit. You get that satisfying crunch with the creamy crab filling - not overly sweet like some spots do. Steamed Dumplings: Soft and juicy with a flavorful pork filling. Dipping sauce was on point. Not doughy, just right. Egg Roll: Golden and crispy with a nice balance of cabbage and pork inside. Great with the duck sauce. --- Pros: Big portions, great value Fast service Hits all the nostalgic Chinese takeout cravings Clean and well-packaged Cons: Lo mein could use a little more flavor Limited seating (best for takeout) --- Final Verdict (8.9/10): New Number One Chinese Restaurant is bringing the heat. Classic Chinese-American dishes done right. If you're craving comfort food that hits every time, this place delivers - literally and figuratively. Perfect for a late-night boss fight meal or chilling after a long grind. Let me know what YOU always order from your local Chinese spot - and drop your suggestions for the next food battle

Now, when I was going to RIT (back in the day), I remember this being a Might Taco... but I'm quite delighted to see it as an OG Dumpling House location too! (Though it's probably a good thing that it wasn't a dumpling house when I was in college, because those freshman 15 would have been aaaaaaaaaall because of the soup dumplings.) You can order takeout or sit in the restaurant. Our getting offered a table when we first got there was a bit discombobulated, but we were asked after a few minutes if we wanted to sit or takeout and we confirmed we wanted to eat in the restaurant. After another minute or two, we were given our table. Because of the time waiting for our table, we had already decided on what we wanted to eat and drink... so we were able to order pretty quickly. We ordered the xiao long bao, of course, as well as steamed pork bao, and then fried green beans, fried calamari, and shumai to share. The items came out quickly enough... but as we were making our way through the plates, I was a bit surprised that our server wasn't also taking away plates that we'd finished. In most dim sum-type restaurants I've visited, it's common for the server to take finished plates away throughout the service to ensure you have room on the table for anything else that might be coming out. Since the tables in this location are perhaps a bit on the smaller side, we soon found ourselves running out of enough space to really spread out the plates to share. The soup dumplings are good... though they perhaps didn't have broth that was quite as flavorful as I'd been hoping for. I'm glad we visited, as OG Dumpling House has been on my list to try for quite a while. Now that the craving is appeased though, I'll be happy to try another one of Rochester's Chinese or dim sum-style restaurant locations.
