I ordered take out from here for my family and was overall disappointed. We got chicken lo mein, sesame chicken combo dinner, beef with broccoli combo, hot and sour soup, and pork egg rolls. the lo mein was dry, overcooked, and sitting in a puddle of oil. it was flavorless and looked like it was sitting n out all day. the sesame chicken had no flavor and barely had any chicken. the chicken it did have was more crust then anything and the rice it was served with was old. the beef with broccoli tasted fine but was vegetable heavy... it was more like broccoli with (scarcely any) beef. the soup and egg rolls were great, but i expect my entrees to be edible. my food was ready on time so i guess the service was acceptable read more

Food wasn't inedible, but I would only go back if it was the only place in town. Shrimp toast was burned. spicy noodle had little flavor or or anything else added. I didn't want to travel across town, so I decided to try China Wok. My first impression was good - the table/pickup area was clean and brightly lit and the same for the open kitchen. I had ordered Szechwan pork and asked for fried rice. The sauce was thicker than what I expected, more of a Hunan sauce, and only slightly spicy, but good nevertheless. I tried this place today for the first time and wasted 13.00. I ordered shrimp toast, which did not have shrimp included uncooked inside and burnt. I also ordered general TSO with fried rice, and was given brown rice, which was so gross, it made me upset that I wasted my money. I will never frequent this place again. In a desperate and irrational moment, I ordered chinese food from China Wok. I was hungry and far too tired to cook. I looked across the road from the post office and my eyes landed on this place, so I decided to give it a try. I've eaten at some pretty dodgy Chinese take-out places especially as an undergraduate student. I'd have to say that this place takes the cake on dodgy. The mildewy smell and dated decor indicate that this place has seen better days (see photo). The portion sizes are large. The food is cheap. I ordered shrimp fried rice which was bland. I also got crab ragoons and chicken wings. My husband said the wings were okay, but the ragoons were forgettable. read more

Since the Wokery in Westmar Plaza closed, we've struggled to find decent Chinese food in our area. There are a few places, but none really stand out. China Wok is fairly close and is located in a strip mall. The place has no atmosphere. Floor looks worn and tables and chairs are old. I definitely wouldn't eat it. But take out is ok. Food was good and the portions are great. Had it for dinner and 2 lunches after that. Pricing is reasonable/average. I'd recommend for take out. read more

I have been coming to this place for decades, literally. I have never had a bad meal. The woman who works there always remembers me and asks about my kids. This is the only Chinese place I really trust. I LOVE their wonton soup and steamed dumplings. Their General Tso's and Lo Mein is some of the best I have ever had. Egg & spring rolls are both excellent as well. I always tip them because I love this place that much. No it doesn't have fancy decor or look updated, but its clean and the food is good. This place makes the bomb sesame chicken. It's a take out place but has table and chairs for you to sit on. I called them today and ordered my normal meal. Most of the time they are ready in 15 mins or so. The owner who answers the phone usually says about 10 mins. My food always comes out hot. Granted my travel time to this location is less than 10 mins, when I get home the food is still hot. Pls note that they prefer cash and if you used debit or credit card they charge you.50cents. read more

Since this new couple took over this business, they have improved a lot, when they first started, they were plain bad, so I stopped buying from them until this past summer when I was very hungry on a sunday night and they were my only option other than pizza, they weren't that bad and have been buying from them almost by-weekly. We visited here while on a road trip to MI. Though the place was empty, it WAS a Tuesday night and it made the staff all the more attentive. The food was quite good; I enjoyed their veg mu shu. They packed all the extras (more than an entire second serving!) up to our challenging instructions. The kitchen has a window onto the seating area so you can see the chef at work while you wait. First of all, I do not expect the same quality from a take out place than I do a full service restaurant. That being said, China Wok is a step above the average take out place I've tried. There are some occasions when eating at home is just more convenient. We had an order of fried dumplings to share. We got eight very large dumplings and a piquant dipping sauce. Those alone would probably have sufficed as dinner, but we moved on to two different soups: wonton and hot and sour. Both were very good. The hot and sour had that spicy hit to the back of the throat that I love. The entrees provided were more than we could handle and after a taste of Sesame Chicken and Mushroom Egg Foo Young, they ended up in the refrigerator for tomorrow's lunch. The prices are reasonable and portions are more than adequate. If I must add a negative to this review, it is this. There is a sign that says "Cash Only Please" and one below it that says, "There Will Be a $.75 Charge for Cards". In this day and age when credit card payments are so common, it's an insult to be charged extra. After I paid for my order I remembered that my husband likes hot pepper oil and I would have been charged an extra $.25 for that too. They would do well for customer retention if they altered these extra charges. read more

I go here quite often, and find the food quite good. It seems some people have had 'buyer's regret' that they paid anything for their food when the prices would be the same anywhere else, instead of a 'whopping total of ___' as mentioned by an awful reviewer. Also their interior looks the same as any other Chineese carry out place would, and their food is well made. The atmosphere is always clean, and staff attentive, and there is nothing dodgy about this place. The portions were large, and for a takeout restaurant, this place is above average. It is not 5 star eating, but it is a good solid restaurant if you want a quick bite to eat. The decor is of a picture of the great wall of china, and a random Chineese painting on the other side, so I don't quite understand what is 'dated' about it besides it just didn't fit a food snob's liking. read more

I don't understand why some Chinese places use so much celery and so few other vegetables. If they cut back on the celery and added more other veggies they would deserve 4 stars. read more
