Unfortunately, almost all of the seating is in booths geared for 4 or 6 people (the one table that might have worked was occupied). No problem - we split into two parties of 4. Jess, our server, was by right away to get our beverage orders. Service was good throughout. I went with the BBQ chopped chicken salad ($22). I have enjoyed this dish before at other Wood Ranch locations. This one was just meh (I think they may have left off the dressing and just put on BBQ sauce). One of my friends had to send his dish back so he ended up eating well after the rest of us were nearly done (somewhat forgivable when a party of 8 comes in near closing time). Torn between giving 3 or 4 stars. But the hostess and the server tried so hard to make things work, I went with 4 stars. And yes, I would eat here again. read more

She eats about 2 bites, asked if we could order off kids menu at first they said yes ( host who seated us, he doubled checked) We ordered and waitresses said NO , but she doubled checked with manager. My wife and I have been eating at this location for many years. The food and service here is always exceptional. The aromas inside and outside are simply mouthwatering ! My Rib-eye was a thick, juicy, and tender cut of beef that was cooked perfectly medium-rare. Wifey's ribs were beautifully prepared with fall-off-the-bone deliciousness while our corn cobs were grilled plump and buttery. My sweet potatoes were smooth and satisfying along with my wonderful Caesar salad tossed with their sharp and tangy homemade dressing adding that full-on bold flavour! Our waitress Alianna was amazing and could not have been sweeter ! We didn't have to ask for anything as our drinks were always full, plates were continually cleared, and she always wore a smile. It's conveniently located and has kind of its own little parking lot which sometimes can get full and you have to walk a little bit to get to the actual restaurant. We love this place. We come here multiple times a year. All of their BBQ options are fantastic, as are all of their sides and salads. They have one of our favorite soups of all restaurants: a tri-tip mushroom soup. I cannot recommend that soup enough. Other than that, you can't really go wrong. I go back and forth between the brisket, tri-tip, and pulled pork. If I'm more hungry, then I will go with a dinner plate so that I can get two sides, but otherwise I'll get it as a sandwich. My favorite side is their peanut coleslaw; it's pretty unique to have peanuts in there, but it's super tasty. They are good for a small group (my wife and have gone just us two) or large groups (we've gone with 10 people). It doesn't feel like the Wood Ranch that we grew up with anymore, but that's because it isn't. This chain has popped up locations all over and it's because they put an emphasis on good food and great service. I was visiting my friend and we decided to have dinner at this restaurant. As we walked in, everybody was very friendly and greeted us and we were seated immediately. It was Super Bowl Sunday and they didn't have the game on the TV. Fortunately we arrived during halftime. Our server's name was Eduardo. He was very nice and efficient. He got her orders right away. He had a very good sense of humor since my friend and I are kind of silly. He went along with us and that made the fun times even more fun. I particularly love the peanut coleslaw and the smashed sweet potatoes. Shredded onions and spinach artichoke dip are great appetizers. My new favorite appetizer is the crispy Buffalo cauliflower. The rolls are always the best starter. I am a huge fan of the house salad. Sometimes, I like to get the house salad and add some barbecue chicken to it. This makes a great lunch. The service is great. The food comes out quickly. The restaurant is nice and clean. Parking can be a challenge. This restaurant gets crowded! Make a reservation or be prepared to wait. My husband wanted Wood Ranch for his birthday meal and we decided to visit the Moorpark location close to home. We have been to the Ventura and Camarillo locations, which always provided consistently delicious food and service. The Moorpark restaurant does have a small parking lot and we got lucky finding a spot. When we arrived on a Friday night at 6pm, we were told it's a 5-15 minute wait for a table. We decided to grab a beer at the bar while we waited for our table which is no problem. We each got a pint of beer and relaxed in the air conditioned bar area where it felt the least crowded and there were 3 tvs plays sports. When our table was ready, we were seated a few feet away in a booth and still in the less crowded side of the restaurant near the bar. Our server was Diana and she checked up on us frequently and refilled our bread baskets/drinks. My husband got 3 BBQ item combo and I got the 2 BBQ item combo. We absolutely love the tri tip and the baby back ribs. We also enjoyed the signature sides like mac and cheese, baked potato and peanut cole slaw. We were here a couple nights ago and we had a server named Marcus. Marcus is 5 star on his service. I wanted to tell the manager but we didn't see her before we left. We were greeted with a very friendly hostess and seated right away. Our waiter was very nice as well. He was very attentive However the food looked and tasted different from Burbank. It was not as appealing, the way they presented the food. The tri-tip sandwich was delicious but the Chinese chicken salad tasted completely different than what I know.
