    sweet potato fries with sliders

I cannot believe I lived in this area this long and never had their brunch! Shame on me!!!!! When we walked in on a saturday at around 1:30pm it was pretty packed. There was seating in the front in the corner. I was very happy about this because its snowing outside and I love watching the snow fall. They have $11 Bellini with $5 refills which isn't so bad. I ordered the Fluffy omelet with veggies. I was pleasantly surprised when I bit into the goat cheese. Cheese is always a win in my book!!! The eggs were made well there was NO shell thank kittens! There was also a garden salad with toast! I love that we get our own butter to put on the toast, some places put too much butter. $17 for my food in case that is important to anyone. :::BATHROOM ALERT::: LOVE that it is unisex. Its very roomy! There is a nice wooden changing tables for the mommas and the papa. The bathroom is kept clean which is always a green flag! You treat the bathroom good usually the food is good. Good amount of soap and toliet paper! Very happy about this! The service was good for how packed it was, I appreciate the wait staff! I love that there was a little cherry at the bottom of my Bellini. They have whatever game playing and music at the same time. I wasn't watching the American soccer game just enjoying the vibes and the music. The menu is a QR code, no paper menus lets go!! They have a lot of draft beers here that you can check out in other yelpers posts. The non alcoholic section of booze is very cool, everyone is included. This place is also kid friendly. This place isn't for you if you're impatient to get drunk! The decor is a wood feel like you're upstate in a cabin. Very cozy! I love the steam punk looking lights! Very rustic feel to the corner spot that we were sitting in. I didnt catch their wifi password but I'm sure if you ask they will give you the password. There is outlets under the bar to charge your phone. Also in the front where we were there was an outlet in the other corner. While they don't take reservations I could see myself coming back with a group to sit in the corner. I wonder what their Friday nights are like. I don't recommend takeout, come to their location and enjoy the food fresh.

    Woodbines Traditional Irish Spice Box

I came here last night on a mission to try Woodbines' spice box after my friend came back from Ireland talking a big game about "Irish spice bags". I was not disappointed! The spice box was really tasty! The curry sauce was realllll addictive and the spicy/salty/smokey sweet balance hit perfectly. It's a bit oily and the chicken was slightly dry, but the flavor more than made up for it. If you close your eyes and drink enough of their beers on draft, you could probably convince yourself you're in Dublin after a night out. The ambiance was solid with a cozy indoor setup and small outdoor section. I can only speak for the ~5:30pm ambiance, but the night vibe here was apparently good enough that my friend's friend got a girl's number here. Service was chill and friendly. Price-wise, $23 for chicken and fries felt steep, but the very reasonable happy hour beer pricing balanced the scales. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a classic Irish pub in LIC or if TikTok convinced you to hunt down a spice bag.

Woodbines is one of those neighborhood bars that serves a few functions: a cozy, casual setting to meet up with friends, a sports bar with beers on tap and TVs playing your favorite team's game, a restaurant with solid and tasty menu items. On a warm day there s a table or two for outside seating in front, inside about 35-40 seats including 8-9 at the bar directly to the left upon entry. Pretty standard Irish pub setup with wood floors and bar, wood panels on the wall. I've been here a few times with friends who live in the area and am impressed with their food, nothing that jumps out as fancy but their dishes are hearty and satisfying, and a good value for the neighborhood. The staff is attentive without being overbearing and it's often bustling inside. I can recommend their burgers, Irish sausage roll, scotch egg and sandwiches. My friends enjoy their brunch items as well. They take cash and card, bathrooms are available. Not sure how handicap accessible it is, as there are a couple small stairs at the front door and the front door itself is on the narrower side given it's in an older building.

My friends and I absolutely love Woodbines! Anytime we want to go to a bar for some GREAT food and drinks (my favorites include their frozen drinks... must try! to die for!), we choose Woodbines! Fried Pickles: 5/5 (fried to perfection but make sure you let them cool! we learned the hard way) Woodbines Nachos: 5/5 (can't go wrong with their nachos!) Spinach Artichoke Dip: 5/5 (the chips are the highlight!) Steak Tacos: 4/5 (only took a point off from the texture of the tortilla) The Chicky: 4/5 (yummy! love the slaw) Lamb Burger: 4/5 (would get again!) Each time we come, we never have a bad time. The bar has great vibes and just feels wholesome. Our servers and bartenders are always so kind and lovely so I can't recommend Woodbines enough! We are forever customers!

That is all the lobster offered in the "Lobster Mac & Cheese". Not even a knuckles worth of meat.

Bar food. Some may call it elevated bar food but it's a facade. Do not go for the lobster Mac and cheese. It tastes like nothing but garlic. I deliberately separated the lobster in it and found a tiny morsel of food. A shame for such a high ticket price item. The short rib grilled cheese was okay, but not worth the ticket price. It's the fish tacos that stood out and again it's not saying much. The waitress was super helpful and understanding and took the entire meal off the bill. Definitely will not be going back again.

Food: I had dinner at Woodbines with my boyfriend last night. It was a chill Tuesday night not too many people dining inside. The food was great. I liked my slider trio the most. I liked that it had pickles and coleslaw inside the slider. It made the slider taste so much better. I liked how crispy their fries were. Service: The service was okay. My boyfriend asked for water for us while we were dining and the waitress didn't bring us any water. We were drinking beer but also wanted some water. Great Long Island city pub. They also have a happy hour drink menu. We both ordered a beer from the happy hour menu. All in all, I'd say a 9/10 recommendation for this pub

Wow! We had the best server! There was 9-of us coming and going & getting together after work to unwind! First time here and just got lucky! Loved the ambiance, cozy decor and again the best server! Got some free drinks and food! We didn't go home hungry! A definite recommendation! You got to share a place like this with others!

Woodbines Traditional Chicken Spice Box ($23)
    Risa H.

Woodbines has a great lively atmosphere with attentive, friendly servers, perfect ambiance lighting, a few TVs, good food and drinks. We tried the Traditional Spice Box ($23 - chicken, lightly tossed in tempura and sautéed to tender perfection with mixed onions, fresh colorful peppers, & freshly hand cut potatoes. Seasoned with AllSpice and served with a side of our homemade curry sauce) and the Cajun Fries ($10). The Spice Box was great, especially with the curry sauce! The fries were lightly crispy on the outside and I even asked for more Cajun spice because I like all the extras. They have good craft beers on draft and the servers were super friendly. Great bar in the LIC area!

Came for brunch! Service- great. Our server was great and had awesome vibes. Ambiance - simple clean cute Food- brunch was very good! The mimosa flight was hitting and tasty. The classic combo was delicious and the French toasty tasted so good and wasn't overly sweet

Woodbines is a cozy, consistent neighborhood spot that I love coming to. This place can pack up quick. They have traditionalish pub food that never misses. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomatoes with fries and curry sauce on the side. The curry is a delicious dip, but the fries last night were on a different level. They were perfectly crisp and so good. They have a great happy hour and their cocktails are on point. The service is also always so friendly. All in all a terrific low key place to have a bite, drink and a chat.

Froze all day?! OK! Delicious food with veggie and vegan options for non carnivores, big drinks and cocktails menu offers libations for all pallets. Ordered fried pickles, nachos and the beet salad and it was plenty to share with a friend. The fried pickles were perfect. The service was great also, accommodating, and prompt made sure our drinks and waters were never empty. The outdoor seating is perfect for people watching the folks of Long Island City! Woodbines also offers plenty of seating inside at the bar as well as a few tables. Prices are pretty standard for NY, feels more like a restaurant then a pub, I would love to see a happy hour special here in case I missed it. I'll gladly check them out again next time I'm in the neighborhood.

The food was good and the price and the atmosphere were good! I enjoyed having the Irish sausages with gravy!

    Jumbo Wings
    David Y.

Stopped by Woodbines with a friend after searching for a spot to eat at via Yelp. Saw the reviews and pictures and decided to give this place a shot. Started off a sangria which was ok and Jumbo wings which were solid. For my main, I got the woodbine burger ($17) with truffle fries ($2 extra) which was also solid. For dessert got the chocolate lava cake ($9) which was good but the chocolate did not flow like lava from the initial breaking of the cake. Overall a good experience with good service.

I am a sucker for this famous British/Irish deep fried goodness. Well, I can say without a doubt that this version is excellent (8.5/10) as described. The dish comes with three pieces that are crispy and tender. However, they gotta make a better tartar sauce than the ones they served in packets. Also, we switched out chips for onion rings. They were fantastic! I also really enjoyed their French Onion Soup (8/10) and the Shepherds Pie (7.5/10). The soup was flavorful without being too salty like most restaurants, while the pie had relatively fluffy mash potato with tasty ground beef mixture. The only item that was a slight letdown was the Chicken Pot Pie (6/10). The puff pastry was decent and so was the cream sauce. The problem was the overcooked and dry chicken breast meat. Our server was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. Btw, even though the space was basically a dive bar, the energetic 60's and 70's music was definitely a plus. Therefore, I gave it a slightly higher score for decor. All in all, this was a great experience.

I ordered a dozen ($15.95) mild wings which to my surprise, didn't come with carrots and/or celery. You do get your choice of ranch or blue cheese. The wings came out piping hot and we're so delicious. I couldn't tell which sauce was mild or medium and when asking a busser, he said he didnt know which was odd. Staff should know what their condiments look like to tell the difference. Luckily the medium wasn't bad so I was able to try it also. The wings are a pretty decent size so I got full after about 5 and took the rest home. Our waiter Leah was very friendly and helpful. She checked on us just enough and was very attentive. It seemed like she was the only server that night so and it was quite busy. She handled it all very well.
