Dr. Wen was the first doctor who told me about Angle-closure glaucoma. It's a completely new medical term for me. I came to her office more than half a year ago to get a DMV vision form filled. Dr. Wen checked my eyes and found that I was actually close to a dangerous stage, as confirmed later by other eye doctors, of what's called "Angle-closure glaucoma" even I wasn't feeling anything at the time. So before it was too late I got it taken care of and the problem is now under control. The first time when Dr. Wen told me about it I thought there must be some kind of misunderstanding because I didn't feel anything and those medical terms were hard for me to understand. Luckily Dr. Wen was very patient and spent a lot more time later to talk to my wife and me about it and we finally understood what it was and realized how serious the problem was. Also the vision exam form Dr. Wen filled was full of details and to me it's really remarkable. read more

I found these really great ProDesign Denmark glasses there a few years ago and Renee helped me find exact pair I wanted online when I couldn't find the same line in the store. She was also very helpful in navigating and explaining my insurance coverage. I just had to have my scratched lenses replaced and they were able to fix a placement issue with my progressives (it was off by 1mm) and now they're perfect! I couldn't be more pleased. read more

The doctors are very thorough with the eye exam. I would have skipped the corona scan thing because it wasn't covered by my insurance and I feel maybe not necessary since most likely the doctor would have spotted any issue in my eye exam. But it's good they want to do extra and to be fair they did ask before doing the test. While I find office staff a little bit disorganized and tend run late about 15 to 20 minutes. My son scratch his glasses within the first week and they were so helpful and replaced his glasses for him. We really appreciated that because it was only one week old. Thank you! read more

Back when I wore contact lenses, Dr. Likens was my optometrist. He never advised me that I might develop GPC from wearing contact lenses, and he was an overreacting, temperamental jerk on one occasion! I treat my clients with much greater respect than I was ever accorded as Dr. Likens' patient. I would never refer anyone to him. read more

I scheduled a new patient appointment as I'm new to Irvine. I hired a babysitter for my small kids so I could go in and not have to worry about my kids in their store. I get there for my scheduled appointment and am told I'm not on their schedule. I advised I made the appointment the week before and even provided my husband's ssn for my insurance. I'm then ignored for about 10 minutes so I have to then go back to the desk and ask if I'm being seen. I'm told "oh I don't know". Then I'm asked to prove I called and booked at their office! I literally had to show proof in my outgoing calls that indeed it was their phone number I called and not "stupid" me calling somewhere else and not knowing who I made my appointment with. I'm then ignored again. I tell her I am currently paying a babysitter to be here and want to know if I'm going to be seen. She said the doctors don't have availability but let me check with the manager. She leaves me to sit for 30 minutes total and I just got up and left. I have no words for how incompetent and rude the staff is at Woodbridge optometry. If my eyes were on fire I wouldn't go in for help from them. I was basically told I was an idiot and didn't know who I booked with, then ignored, then totally disregarded. Do you know much money it is to pay by the hour for a good babysitter? They aren't trained, they can't write down an appointment, and they treat their clients like garbage. I will never ever go in here again and will make sure my friends in Woodbridge never go here either. read more

The office staff are very knowledgeable and do everything they can to serve you, the customer. They are also friendly and take the time to get to know you. After some research, I found some frames at Woodbridge Optometry. I had to handle my order online and over the phone and they were so helpful. They sent me pictures of the frames, as well as other options. They really made the process easy. Then, upon pick up, not only was the fitting quick, but the bag they gave me had cleaner for my glasses and some chocolates. I've been going here for last 3 years. But, this did it. Keep in mind, it will be a month before you get any appointment. So, I had scheduled my appointment well in advance, only to have it changed 3 times by the office. First, I got an appointment time of 8am only to be told a week later that there is no such time. Then they scheduled me for another later date only to be told that they will do half the eye examination on the new date and the second half at a later date. Then I was told again by the office that they want me to come in in the middle of the day and get it all done together. This really bugged me. As a normal working guy, I don't have the luxury of taking time off work to get this done. I chose to go elsewhere. read more

The office is clean and the assistants are pretty helpful. My doctor is Dr.Toki. At the beginning she was very nice and patient. However, later, she discovered that I have astigmatism which causes the fussy vision on my right eye. I didn't have astigmatism before and I had a very good vision with the contact last year. The only thing I can make a connection with is that I've been playing lots of games on my smart phone on the bed without sufficient lighting. I asked Dr.Toki whether a bad eye care will result in the astigmatism. She said no and it's genetic. Then, she was trying to rush me out and set up my 2nd follow up exam which will cost me another $55. The whole appointment only lasted for 30 minutes. And I've paid $120=$65(eye contact exam) +$55( 1st follow up exam). VERY EXPENSIVE! After I came back home, I had to google astigmatism and educate myself since Dr.Toki was not patient enough to deal with this. In the past few years, I had Dr. Fisher as my eye doctor when I was still a student in UCI. He was so much better!! read more

On Friday, I went to an optometrist to get my glasses fixed. I was told it would cost $8 and the young lady left with my glasses and returned 15 minutes later. She told me they did not have a screw big enough for my glasses. I then went right across the street to Woodbridge Optometry and was greeted by some very nice young ladies. They took my glasses and returned with them repaired. I was then asked to come to another table so that my glasses could be fitted perfectly. When I asked how much the repair would cost, she told me it was free. As it was just a missing screw, they did not feel it was necessary to charge me. I was quite impressed with Woodbridge Optometry and when get next pair of glasses, that is where I am going. read more

As a new patient, it took about a month to get an open appointment. But once I got in, I had an excellent experience. All tests were quick and clearly explained. Dr. Toki always explained what she was doing, and answered all my questions. My favorite part was they never pushed me to purchase anything, and happily gave me a copy of my prescription. From the time you walk in, the front desk greets you with a smile, the doctors are very friendly and listen to your concerns, and the opticians are so nice and patient (for someone like me, who can't make up their mind on what eyeglass frames they want). I went in for an eye exam (suspecting Dry Eye from my LASIK surgery) and everyone from the front desk staff, assistants, and especially Dr. Wilson were professional, courteous, caring, knowledgeable, and helpful. Went for my yearly checkup, one year after my first time at Woodbridge Optometry. They now have a new machine for photographing the back of the retina, which was very quick, and they did not have to administer eye drops to dilate my pupils. I'm not a fan of eye drops, so this was great! My current reading and computer glasses did not need revisions, but I needed a pair for watching a blurred view of HD TV, and decided to get the progressives (combo with reading lenses). As in my first experience there, staff are very nice, professional and everyone seems to really like working there. read more

I was very impressed with this office. I called to schedule an appt & was scheduled w/in 2 days. The exams are awesome since they are with the latest equipment. My Dr was on top of all the newest contact lenses. The staff was really helpful in helping me figure out which frames looked best and then how to use my insurance on glasses vs contacts so my expense would be minimal. I've set appts for the rest of my family to see the Dr. especially since w/the picture of the back of my eye they noted that my optic nerve was bigger than someone whose family history doesn't include glaucoma. I read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. Nice location and friendly service. Buck stops there. First they charged me $45 for the contact lens exam. I've had VSP for 6 yrs and never paid for exams before. I called VSP and was told each optometrist does things differently within my $110 allowance. They might charge me for the exam then give me full allowance towards the purchase of the lenses. Fine. Then the optometrist convinced me to try a new pair of lenses even though I had told her I had absolutely no problem with the current pair. She sets me up for a follow up then charges me another $45 for reevaluation. WTH! The best part is I ended up with the same number of contact lenses as I have normally had at other places where I didn't have to pay for the exam! All in all, I spent over $90 for a convenient location and friendly service. Never going back there again. read more

They have worked around my schedules when crazy events decided to invade my life and always seem to be doing everything they can to make sure my eyes are healthy and working properly.
