Came to watch the Super Bowl and had a good time. Plenty of TVs to watch the game. The server was very attentive, always asking if we needed anything. Food was all very delicious. Solid spot to watch some games and eat some bar food.

Great spot for a late night bite with friends! They gave out churros to all the tables which is a great plus! The wings were quite small but very delicious. I got the sriracha honey and cheesy garlic with a side of ranch- sooooooo good! My friends also raved about the burger which hit the spot after a night out!

My husband and pups accompanied me to happy hour at Woodie's Flat. Dogs are allowed on their patio outside, as well as inside the restaurant! Happy hour is from 5-7 during the week, and they have great prices on drinks and special foods. We started with Fatpours, which are not on the happy hour, because we were feeling beers. Then, we got 2 items on the happy hour, their loaded nachos, and pretzels with beer cheese. Of course we had to order our favorite wings off the normal menu, including my favorite super buff sauce. Even with the sauce the wings are crispy. The burger was perfect and I am in love with their fries. We're either here, or order from here, every other week. Service is always amazing, and ambiance is always happy!!!

I love this place - everything from the music, vibes, drinks, and food. Our bartender was the best too - Matthew took care of our group and made sure we always had a drink order coming! The super buffalo wings were deliciously spicy, and the sriracha soy wings were a nice complementary sweeter sauce. The side salad was a nice size with fresh veggies as well. Overall one of the best places on wells street especially for watching sports!

The WTF drink w bourbon was tasty and creative with caramel popcorn on top which tasted good together! The sweetness of the drink was nice. The wings were good and off the bone and it was good. The sauces like cheesy garlic and peach mustard BBQ were good. The indoor and outdoor seating options were good. Nice ambience and no blaring music of loud din or people talking so it was.a nice experience.

In town from Colorado and we were looking for a place along our walk from the subway to the Second City Theater. I always like to try a new wing place and I was sold after reading Teddy B's review. This restaurant is set in a really nice, cozy feeling neighborhood. We chose an outdoor table which was perfectly shaded and comfortable. I'm hot or cold when it comes to smoked wings, as I prefer fried, but these were smoked perfectly for my picky tastes. The buffalo sauce was thick, flavorful and a spot on medium. My fries were extra crispy and didn't need salt. The bf had the nacho platter which he devoured. It was a beautiful afternoon after the previous day of clouds and rain, so the streets and restaurant were hopping. I feel we experienced good service for how busy the place was and we didn't have to wait very long for our food. There was never an empty table the entire time we were there and everyone from the bartenders, waitstaff and runners seemed to keep up and communicated well with diners. Thanks for an enjoyable part of our night.

Classic Buffalo & Nashville Hot - Hickory smoked then fried crisp.

If you know of better Buffalo wings in Chicago send me a DM, lol. It's tough to beat smoked then fried crispy wings. Woodie's is an Ohio State dive bar, but don't let that fool you. Service is consistently great. I usually opt for the Classic Buffalo. Beware of the Super Buffalo. I'm pretty sure it's a habanero Buffalo sauce. It's not intolerable, but the heat definitely builds. 4.19 stars

It's 40 degrees and my food sat in the back of a cigarette smokers car!

Looking…read morefor a place that's not going to break your pocketbook, but still has excellent food ideas and executes the flavors well with quality ingrediets? Then look no further! My girlfriend and I were really bummed that I had driven all the way from Milwaukee to see a show only for it to be canceled 10 minutes before show time. We were getting even more irritated trying to find a place, in the west loop area, that was unique, fun, with good food at a decent price. After about 20 minutes we FINALLY settled on The VIG. My attitude changed immediately walking in and seeing the cool layout and theme while Magic Stick (50 Cent & Lil' Kim) played at a decent volume then switched to Sublime. I love an eclectic music playlist. Huge, solid, bare-wood support beams decorated with really cool led lamps that looked like they were out of a prohibition era speakeasy. The lighting was not too bright to be annoying, but not too dark where it ya can't read your menu (like so many places are nowadays)! The at on the walls was from the golden-era and really tactful pictures of pinup girls and guys. Tv's were everywhere for people to watch the Cubs beat the Nationals, and the seating was not too crammed. It was very comfortable! The staff was on top of things and very friendly and knowledgeable! Excellent descriptions and understanding of the food and drinks they serve! Good sense of humor as well which made ordering fun! The food came out promptly and well plated! The pictures are of the elote street corn deviled eggs and the Italian beef bao buns. Both were AMAZING! Well thought out dishes that perfectly mixed cultures and textures while still preserving enough individual culture of each part of the dish! That got us extremely excited to try more! The old fashioned was really good, even to my biased Wisconsin standards, and the rosé slushy was fantastic! For entrees, I got the ribeye. I will say that it is only around an inch (or less) thick, so keep that in mind if, like me, you like a medium rare to medium done steak. The char was perfect, their compound butter really was unique and added to the flavor, and the steak was still juicy enough to enjoy even though it was medium well to well done. It was still delicious and went VERY well with the potatoes it came with! The fingerling potatoes were perfectly cooked and had a light drizzle of sauce with some spiced corn kernels sprinkled around them. Truly a dish to remember, even if a tad overcooked. I did let our waitress know when she came around to ask how it was. I reassured her, when she offered to make it right, that it was still ok and that I planned on eating the whole thing so no need to do anything but give feedback to the kitchen. I know it's difficult to control the cook on a thin piece of meat like that. If you generally like medium well to well done steaks, it would have rolled your eyes back in bliss like it did to mine. My girlfriend got the The VIG burger and the Gnocchi Alla Vodka with a side of fresh cut fries. The thick and juicy burger patty itself was a little hard to taste with the cheese, sauce, and tomato. I prefer the beef patty to be the star of the show, and it just got a little lost in all of the other flavors. The texture of the patty was great, though! I could immediately tell that they don't over-mix their patty beef because it held together just enough to bite but then crumbled away nicely which made chewing easy! Next time I will ask for the sauce on the side since it was still good. The fries were fantastic. Not too crispy, not too soft...skins on and the same size as fast-food style fries. The Gnocchi was SPECTACULAR! Cooked to perfection! The sauce was well put together and plentiful, yet not overpowering! Dessert was the tiramisu which was very good! I am VERY excited hearing that a Milwaukee location is opening soon! I can't wait to try more! I'll be recommending this place to my foodie friends! Thanks, to the staff for making our night better with food, light conversation and good atmosphere!

Inside the restaurant is a large bar and wall with multiple TVs, so I imagine it's a packed weekend lunch and dinner crowd particularly on game day. Ultimately, this is probably a regular hotspot for the neighborhood and not a bad place if I do say so myself.

Food was a mix: Chimichurri cauliflower: smaller portion than I expected, nothing special I'd skip this dish. Ceasar salad: dressing is very heavy on the anchovy paste, otherwise good portion and veggies. Loaded fries: huge portion with lots of great toppings, though I wish their fries were more 'fry' like versus potato skin-like. Chicken tenders: I got this with sweet potato fries, and they were way too salty. The chicken tenders were 4 skimpy pieces of chicken, and I was charged for extra dipping sauces and ketchup. The spicy mango habanero and buffalo are good - skip the garlic parmesan. I will most definitely be back for the vibes, drinks, and service. I'm hoping the food is just working on some kinks and will get better the next time!

I usually don't drink on the weekdays, so I ended up just getting an iced tea and him a tequila soda, but because I don't drink, we decided to get an appetizer and we browsed the menu for a minute and ended up splitting the Parmesan chicken egg rolls. Truthfully, I really just wanted to see what that would entail because it seemed a little disgusting or maybe even some kind of high-food, but to my surprise, it was actually a really crispy skinned pizza roll. I'm pretty sure it had been previously frozen, but in that moment- served with a side of marinara, I didn't really care. It was full of gooey melted mozzarella cheese and almost like a breaded chicken nugget center. Pretty decent as far as bar food goes. They also had crab rangoon to which I thought, "hmm are they doing a little too much?!" I'm sure drunk me would have gotten them years ago so what can ya do. Overall, quite a positive experience.
