We had brunch yesterday before Roses and Rust, and it was the worst food EVER! 16.00 for eggs Benedict, the sauce was no where near a Benedict sauce, more out of a packet, and the eggs were so hard they were disgusting! My kids ordered a couple of omelets and did not even eat a third. Service was ok, but the food ruined it for us, the management should be taking a hard look at the comments and lack of patrons at the restaurant. What a great find in Anderson! It is a popular spot for weddings and events. It has a beautiful hotel attached. If you're staying in the hotel you get 15% off your 2nd item at breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We came here twice. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. For dinner I had the garden burger with fresh fruit. Really good flavor on the burger. Also ordered a side salad with the poppyseed dressing. I'm not sure if the dressing is made in house but it is delicious. My coworker ordered the wedge salad and meatloaf which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, he loved his meal. The ambiance is nice with a live band that plays quietly enough to still enjoy conversation. The staff is great. For breakfast I had oatmeal (huge portion) and my coworker had a short stack ($3 only) and some sausage. Highly recommend. read more

This is the third time I've been here for dinner. The food is unbelievably good. The service tonight and last night was pretty bad, although, tonights service can't even rate as high as a Denny's. The drinks are good. The people were nice, but that's about it. The prices are a bit high, and I was told that our wait time would be about 10 minutes which turned into about 45 minutes. Here I was stuck in Redding, CA for 10 days working, dreading the same old meal night after night, but then I found Woodside Grill. Because I was alone, I ate in the bar and that's where I met Nate - bartender of the year!. Nate knew the menu well and was always helpful and ready with his "pick of the day". I was never disappointed in the menu item he suggested, especially the meatloaf. A good selection of wines were available, which Nate offered his knowledge. Today I waited an hour for lunch, and saw 3 separate customers arrive after me and still received their lunch before I did. I ordered the Thai Chicken Nachos. After an hour of waiting my lunch came (it wasn't really busy), and the cook forgot to put cabbage on my nachos. Something tasted off but couldn't tell what it was because of the sweet sauce. After eating two thirds of the meal, I realized what it was, the chips were stale. I told them in private and the waiter was nice enough to comp my meal...except I felt a little uneasy after lunch. The interior was beautiful. It was chilly but cool atmosphere. We were a party of 10. We ordered 2 appetizers, drinks, and our food. Appetizers and drinks came right away, food took forever! Whatever, we were a big party, I understand. We had a caprese salad and Thai chicken nachos as appetizers. They were both amazing. For dinner I had the Cajun chicken fettuccini Alfredo. The chicken was moist and flavorful however; the pasta was bland. Our server checked in twice and it literally took 30 minutes to get our bill even after we had asked for it! The server said she would be our cashier and appeared annoyed when I stood up to hand her my card. I'm sorry but I was not going to wait another 30 minutes to get my card back. Have to say this was one of the worst meals I have ever had. Most of the food seemed to have been bought pre-made and then reheated. Menu reminds me of an old Martha Stewart cookbook, nothing original here. Family had ribs that were very dry and smothered in sauce, chicken was not cooked all the way through, and was covered in a store bought sauce. I really wonder if there is actually a chef. I eat vegan and asked for the pasta primavera without the pesto sauce. Waitress said it was impossible to make a substitution, which makes me suspect the sauce is from a bottle. Sweet potato fries were obviously frozen and the baked. Tomato soup was barely warm. Cannot see how they can claim to be seasonal, more like whatever is in season at Costco. read more

Arrived after a long car ride to a wonderful little window table. Our server was very kind as I brashly demanded a beer since I was severely tired and over the day. Had the Avacado Smash, Woodside French Toast and a waffle. My husband said the Avacado Smash was great. The waffle was a typical waffle but the fresh strawberries were a nice touch. I had the French toast and it was or least favorite. It seemed deep fried and pretty much tastes the same as the French toast sticks from a sonic drive in. Good bacon. We decided to eat here again for my Wife's Birthday. I love this place, the food is outstanding and the service was great. The only thing I would comment on was the volume of the amp the singer was using was a little loud for me. She had a beautiful voice and everyone liked the music. I did mention when I made a reservation that it was my Wife's Birthday and they surprised her with an amazing desert which the serving plate was written "Happy Birthday Adrienne" That was so nice and what a surprise it was. We will definitely be back. From some of the other reviews I can only guess they have taken steps to improve their service. I had a New York Strip and A had Scallops. Both were prepared beautifully. This place is unbelievably a delicious and culinary surprise in a casual dining environment at dare i say re- donkulous prices. Kobe beef meat loaf huge portion with hearty red mash potatoes and fresh assortment of local veggies under 12 $ couldnt even finish it because the portion was so large. The service is out of this world good, really unexpected with meal service fan faire deserving of at least half a Michelin Star if not a 40% tip. Just to show the appreciation of a good establishment, wouldn't want this place to go away. If you are ever near the area you must try this restaurant, I mean where else are you going get your silverware changed before each course, sorbet to wet your palate before your entree under 20$ per person in my case with drink? What a little gem in the middle of nowhere! My mother and I were traveling from LA to Vancouver. Anderson was our first stopping point on the trip. We had booked the Gaia hotel, based on reviews. After 8 long hours in the car, we really didn't care what we ate...we just needed food and a cocktail! Much to our surprise, the Woodside Grill was actually a nice place! Service was wonderful. The food was awesome. We had the lobster puffs for a starter...amazing! I had the salmon which was fresh and full of flavor. My mother had a stuff chicken which creamy potatoes. Yum! Don't bother. No consistency. No class. Not a green or sustainable hotel or restaurant. There is no recycling done. The amount of food thrown away is a crime! My wife and I were there following an event and when we asked banquet staff about the leftover food they told us they don't donate anything, just toss it all!!! We also asked about the recycling program described on the website and were told that hasn't happened in years! The breakfast cook refused to cook anything special order and you don't even get toast with your meal. We could hear the cook screaming at our poor waitress all the way in the restaurant the next morning. The food looked horrid and tasted like it looked. Dinner wasn't any better. The websites description and pictures of what is offered is not even close to true. We asked our server and she shrugged and said it has always been like that. None of the desserts where available either and the server again just kind of shrugged and said no one made them. The bartenders loud and obnoxious mouth was all we heard during dinner. The hostess seemed embarrassed when we asked to speak to a manager. There wasn't one there. When asked who was in charge she said "the girls just take care of anything that comes up." We came in for the champagne brunch. Both servers were less than pleasant. They only had brunch and no menu options. As we got up there was only 5 items on the brunch. There was tri tip with mushrooms wich was dry and lacked flavor. Then there was some patatoes wich i didnt have because the lid on the tray wouldnt open. Then there was bacon and sausage links wich was i suppose the best part. The last item was eggs benedict. There was hardly any sauce and when we cut into it the yolkd were hard and dry. My wife actually gagged on it. We quickly told the waiter we were leaving and expressed all the proplems and then left. Too SLOW! Bad Service. Food okay but pricey. $14.00 for a burger that takes an hour and a half to get. If you want mustard with that burger, you better ask for it when you order because that took another twenty minutes to get. The waitress served three tables and brought them wine before she got me the mustard. Set up was bad, my waitress had her tables split, while I got to watch the other two tables on each side of me being served by their waiter. He hopped back and forth skipping us because we are not his table. Also, it was freezing, the air kept kicking on and we were sitting right under the vent. I will not go back, not worth it. read more
