I really wanted to like the food, but, sadly... it was just ok. The burgers were what I'd expect from a fast food place, not a restaurant. The Patti's were small, there wasn't any seasoning that we could taste, and the fries were very very blah. It was edible, but so is McDonalds. read more

Made a stop here to grab lunch on a weekday on our way to Shasta and we couldn't be happier with the decision! Ordered the Bobo burger and the Patty Wagon and both came out great! The best thing about this place is the service. In my opinion, there's no better food/service than that you would get at a place ran by it's owners. Recommend 10/10! read more

No complaints about this place. The food is fine, although not stunning. It's a quaint diner really, possibly constructed by hobbits considering the ceiling height, but it seems to fit well in Cottonwood. I would probably not go out of my way to return but the food was good. Service was diner-esque: not fast but friendly. Prices are fine, about $12-14 per burger. I liked the burger but didn't love it. My description is along the lines of: plain and safe. You will not hate it. I really liked the cut of the fries but they weren't salted. You can do that yourself though I guess. Walked in and the lady got to the register. Already she was not friendly. I was going to sit outside with my service animal, and began to change my mind and ask boyfriend if he wanted to sit inside because it was hot as well as the lady admittedly herself staying outside was dirty. So after I asked boyfriend if he wanted to eat inside in the AC with my SERVICE ANIMAL, in her vest, the lady said she doesn't allow animals inside, I stated she was a service animal and was told directly that she didn't care that my service animal was not allowed inside. There is a sign in the window that states pets are not allowed, but service animals are. Rude and unfriendly. read more

The best food ever burgers are the best in cottonwood to Redding and the fries milkshakes are good. The employees are the best I have ever had in a restaurant they are fast to get to you. 2024.11.12 The place is only open four out of seven days a week, therefore how can a place keep up with fresh food and it seem they are would be a frozen as and can type restaurant. They still have the flea market items for sale in the front for sale ,- is this a RESTAURANT or FLEA MARKET? The food needs some updated and it seems not a restaurant but food truck environment. The food inside of the place needs a fresh coat of paint, service staff needs some updated as well(training manners, learn serve the food all a together not plate here then another plate 8 minutes and so on, keep the beverages filled even if it would not water (good service equals Good Tip at least for me. Food needs to be served hot if it's a hot dish and cold needs to be served cold. But it is a nice diner in a one horse town. Good Luck for the upcoming year and Happybl Thanksgiving. I prefer a tasty, simple cheeseburger over the big greasy burgers with a million toppings you find elsewhere. If a burger joint makes a solid basic cheeseburger, you can bet their other burgers are great too. good quality and well-seasoned meat, fresh veggies and sharp cheddar (you can pick from other cheese options). fries were nicely seasoned and came with thousand island style dipping sauce, as well as salt and pepper packets. the two ladies -- the cook and waitress -- were very friendly. Just moved to Cottonwood, I was looking for a local non-franchise place to eat and to support local businesses. After a quick Google, I found this place and decided to try it. As I walked in, the waitress which happened to be the cook as well was very nice and attentive and so was a older gentlemen (who was there enjoying his meal). The location and set up of the restaurant felt so inviting, after a few short moments I ordered my meal which came quickly. My first bite was amazing and so were the other dozens other bites I had. The fries were real fries not the frozen packages ones which went well with their sauce they had available. After I paid, the waitress said "thank you for stopping by and giving us a opportunity to serve you" Wow! What a service! Definitely going back along with my family! read more

First, I appreciate the effort and care this owner has put into this restaurant . She and her staff really want to make this a good experience for customers given the small space they have to work with! We have eaten here 4 times since they opened and have had a mostly positive experience The down side is that the last time we went, we ordered cheeseburgers (I forgot what they called them) but basically they fried the hamburger patties then dumped a HUGE load of cheese on top on the grill so that it created this strange "frame" of cheese surrounding the patty that extended a couple inches around the meat. So much cheese that you had to cut off all the excess to put the smothered meat onto the bun just to be able to eat it like a normal burger. I have no clue why anyone would present a burger this way but it was.. well, gross The other basic burgers we've had there in the past were good. This one is not a culinary masterpiece The other issue is the small amount of fries they give you with your burgers. Given the relatively small cost of potatoes, it's to a restaurant's advantage cost wise to go generous on these so their customers feel they are getting a good value even if the burgers are good but a bit smaller if necessary. We feel like this place will only improve with time if they can get a good menu nailed down because the owner is a gem. Hope they can respond to input regarding some of their menu items that will help them become a great place. read more

We tried this place for the first time last night. The Tailgate may not look like much from the outside but the inside is very clean and all the ladies working were so sweet and helpful. I appreciate good customer service and they were fantastic! My husband and I both got the Cooper burgers and we got the sliders for our two little boys. The burgers were good and made with fresh ingredients! They make fresh French fries too.
