Don't judge the place by its exterior. Walked in and is a very relaxed, roomy restaurant with table like many of us eat at in yesteryear at home. Country table I think they call it. Big black board on wall with specials. Very detailed menu also. Cell service is not existent inside but I did see and use the guest WiFi. Several ladies serving or taking orders so service was great. Menu is pretty extensive but I finally settled on the Reuben and went with the soup as a side. The Reuben was delicious. Not overloaded like some try to do it but also not lacking. Delicious!. Now I know soup when it is 80 outside but she sold it well. She also did not oversell it as it was as good as she said. Loaded potato with bacon and cheese and broccoli. Wow. Cleaned it all up and washed it down with some truly awesome sweet tea.

At first we ended up at the bar-only spot (easy mistake), but they quickly pointed us around the corner to the main restaurant--no hassle at all. Anna took great care of us. Super friendly, checked in just enough, not too much. They noticed it was my wife's birthday and actually made it feel special--multiple birthday wishes and a complimentary dessert for the table, which was a nice touch. Great location too. There's plenty of space and it's not fancy, but the kids had alot of fun and it's real laid back & casual. The lumpia was alight and the kids ate their hotdogs. Most who had the french fries liked them. I had the fried shrimp and wasn't impressed. There was thick crispy breading, but could taste alot of salt. I did not like it as much as some of the other dedicated seafood restaurants in town. The grits were just alright also. I guess my favorite was the sweet tea. The bathrooms were clean, but the soap dispensers didn't seem to work. The bartender/server was helpful and I liked the weird jukebox they had. Certainly not three. I did not bring it to my server's attention. But the server should be checking this sort of thing before he leaves for the table. Pet peeve of many breakfast restaurants in N.E. When we came back we were seated outside with a friendly waiter who got us going right away. The ogre kept saying how she wanted fried chicken and waffles, but then got nervous because it was 2000 calories.. like what? "You're on vacation just get the chicken and waffles." She was already overweight anyways so why not add more fuel to the fire. Anyways onto what we got! Me: egg scramble bowl with avocado and bacon. I would like to add that I basically finished my entire meal before tragic or the wife got theirs. It will be shown in the photos below. I tried to be polite and wait, but after 5 minutes without their food showing up I had to eat I was starving. It's kind of crazy to me that me ogre and my good buddy bezos were first. I would think that the classic plate of tragics would be easy, as well as the sandwich because it's just the same stuff in my bowl just between bread somewhat. I enjoyed the ambiance and the feel of the place for sure. The music that was playing was also enjoyable, so initially I was at a three but because of those factors along with the fact that I did somewhat like my food more than the others (which is rare) and don't feel terrible after that's why we stand at a four. I would like to clarify every place has its own rating system. Like you cannot compare a fancy restaurant to a diner although they are still deemed a 4 on my page. Sorry anyways, the prices were also really reasonable and we had a good time. Maybe next year when we are back around here we will come back! It was good!

My dining companion had the 1/3 with cheese and bacon and fries. The tea was delicious and I mixed it half and half. They use simply syrup and Martin's liquid tea packages. So old fashioned and good. They carry Pepsi products. My fish were good and the onion rings hot out of the fryer. My friend's burger was very good. If you think about what this diner is, it is simple food done well and inexpensive served in a friendly atmosphere. The oil was new and everything was done well.

The place was lively and a band was on stage which was set up for half the restaurant. I can appreciate that set up so the whole restaurant is not in front of the band.
