Beware of bait and switch pricing! I used an Angie's List coupon for $139 for a large appliance repair to fix my dryer. It needed lint cleaning and I believed a belt. Wooten Appliance was happy to honor the coupon and explained that for $139 this would cover labor for two visits - diagnostic and repair, and parts would be extra. They sent a very friendly repair person who diagnosed the problem. They returned with a quote for a total $468!!! There was a surprise extra labor cost of $50 on top of the $139, parts were hugely marked up (e.g., glide price directly from GE $7, WA cost $38), vent cleaning was a separate technician $89, then a "processing fee" and tax. For $468 I can buy a new dryer. read more

Chester, from Wooten Appliances came to my home to fix my stove, a nice gas range. I had smelled gas & the oven barely heated. I read their reviews; they were excellent. Chester showed up promptly, had a new ignition switch in his truck (which I thought was the problem after a lot of research) & fixed it, spending an hour & a half or so here. The cost was $165.00. The part for my oven took awhile to arrive, which I understand they can't control, but once they receive it, they should call promptly to schedule. Instead I had to follow up and check in. Daryl's approach to his work is a throw back to the good old days that most of us have heard of but never experienced...when doctors came to your house an hour after you called them, when things were made by people, and you knew your repair man by name and could call him in a pinch. This is my third time working with Daryl in the past few years. He's courteous, punctual, and he's a problem solver. He won't give up when others would just leave. He comes prepared and asks you questions beforehand so that when he comes, he can more than likely take care of everything on the spot. And crucially for me, he's resourceful and willing to go beyond the call. We used Wooten Appliance for the first time based on neighborhood feedback and it was by far the absolute best appliance repair experience we have ever had. The set up the appointment and gave us a two hour window and they arrived during that window, which anyone that has ever experienced the "time window" knows is very rare. They were extremely professional in both the scheduling and repair and the pricing was reasonable. All of the pricing was confirmed up front via email for both the initial diagnostic visit and the repair. We would not hesitate to use them again. read more

I was not looking to spend a lot of money repairing my 10 year old stove but I thought it was worth spending a bit on investigating whether or not it was worth fixing. I compared reviews on Yelp and some other sites. I decided to call Wooten. They said they would be in my town in 4 days. It was fine with me to wait. They called the day before to give me a two hour time range. The gentleman that came called 30 minutes before he arrived to say he was on his way. From the moment he walked in he was smiling friendly and positive. Of course when he walked in turn on my oven it appeared to be working. I said "I paid $100.00 for you to walk in here and to show me it works." But as it was preheating it stopped working. He clearly explained the issue with the oven and the cost would be over $300 just for the part. So the good news is I am getting a convection oven I want but the bad news I have to pay for it. Also the repairman discussed the different brands and features. I now feel more knowledgeable about walking into the store to buy a new oven. This company's customer service practices needs a restart. A simple phone call to confirm a service time shouldn't have been much to ask but apparently to the manger Shareita is was. There was a miscommunication about the time window for my service day but when I attempted to call several times and left several messages days before to confirm the time window to no avail no one ever called me back or even left a voicemail message. According to the manager the email that was sent one day prior to the scheduled service date from the company should have been good enough for me. I don't work from home and I made myself available on that day that they were supposed to service my refrigerator. The only time I got a phone call was after the technician came and realized no one was home to tell me that he did come. He didn't even call ahead of time to make sure or confirm we were on the same page. I thought that was very unprofessional and unethical. The next phone call was after I left several messages for someone to call me back the very next day to find out why no one is communicating with me. So if youre okay with getting your service time in an email the day before and not a phone call this may work for you. On top of this being a very inconvenience to me, the manager was VERY rude and very dismissive. Her name is Shareita. If she's the person representing this company she's going to cause alot of business to go out of the door. They really need to practice communicating better with customers. My dishwasher was not draining all the way. I am a member of Angie's list so I searched there for an appliance repair company. I chose Wooten because of its A rating and good reviews, and because the reviews indicated they (unlike some of the others I looked at) are more inclined to advise repairing the appliance rather than discarding it and getting a new one (you're welcome, Mother Earth....). The technician arrived on time, courteous and friendly and professional. He diagnosed and fixed the problem (jammed pump) and even helped with another small repair at no extra cost. For what it's worth, I never write reviews, but I had such a good experience with this company servicing/repairing my dishwasher I had to write one so that I could help this small business out. I have a Samsung Dishwasher, which are notorious for breaking and having issues with their leak/flood sensors. The LC Code came up flashing last week on the dishwasher after a cycle and stopped working (constantly drained). I called for service and the receptionist was very nice and helpful and said someone would be out on Monday (I called the Previous Friday, two days before). The Technician (Darryl) came over and was fantastic, not only did he check for the issue where we told him it was probably coming from, he also checked 4 or 5 other possible areas where the issue could be occurring. He took a picture of it to show me what the problem was, and fixed the issue. He was so knowledgeable that he gave me and my wife essentially a tutorial of the best dishwasher soaps and why (liquid is better than pods) and why this issue occurs in newer dishwashers and how to alleviate it in the future. He was super cordial and just a pleasure to have servicing the dishwasher after having bad experiences like many others have had in the past. Totally worth the 99$ service charge for piece of mind knowing that I had an honest, very knowledgeable, very experienced technician service the dishwasher and knowing I have a company that I can trust to service all my Samsung appliances. read more

I meant to write this review a couple of weeks ago, but you know how things get. Anyway, my rental home, washing machine issue. Landlord arranged for them to come out. On time and professional. Diagnosed the issue correctly first time but unfortunately did not have the correct part in the truck and it had to be ordered. Came back 3 business days later and issue is resolved. The man that came, Rodney if I recall correctly (and apologies if I do not), was a fine gentleman. Very clean, neat, friendly and efficient. As I mentioned to him, when we buy our house, Wooten Appliance will be our go to for repairs etc. Note I cannot comment on the prices as the repair was provided through our landlord. We called Wooten Appliance out because our new refrigerator water filter would not come out. They replaced and charged us for the service. I asked if that was all that was needed and he said yes. A week later we got a light indicating service needed on same issue of water filter. We called Wooten again and they said if it was for same issue there would be no charge. The issue was the water filter needed pumped before it would start working. We were told there would be no charge. Then we got 3 phone called and 2 emails within 14 days demanding IMMEDIATE PAYMENT OF 99.00. My husband sent only because he did not have time to deal with a protracted fight. When I called Wooten and spoke with the workman his explanation was as follows. Yes I did replace filter on the first call, yes the 2nd call was for the same issue, but "how am I to know all the issues for every brand of appliance". So I said you did not finish your job, his response was " how was I to know what your brand of refrigertor needed". I said, your company advertises it fixes different brands, and at the very leAst you could have googled how to fix issues. He said he agreed completely but that each issue even though it was the same problem is charged separately. I said again, you didn't finish the job the first time. He said how was I to know, I said then how did you know what to do when you came back a second time. He simply wanted to convince me I was wrong. Be forewarned of this companies behavior. I have been in real estate property management for my entire life, and this is THE FIRST TIME EVER to have a company so blatantly dishonest, and almost do a bait and switch when it comes to repairs. Talking loudly and repeating something over and over may confuse some customers of what you are doing, but it didn't work on me. These guys were simply amazing. From scheduling my appointment to communicating when my technician would arrive the front office was amazing. Daryl my tech showed up within the time frame they had given, called me 30 minutes before arriving and was honestly the nicest repairman I have ever had come to the house. From explaining everything in laymen's terms to being super cool and friendly with my cats he was amazing! It was an awesomely easy fix to my dishwasher that took about an hour and Daryl was nice, polite and awesome throughout the whole process. I got a 20 dollar off coupon from their website for being a first time customer and that was excellent however I have to say even without that coupon I would not have been upset with the pricing of Wooten. Our nineteen year old built-in refrigerator quit working, and we were in danger of losing hundreds of dollars of fresh and frozen food. We called Wooten Appliance, and when we told them of our dire circumstances they came the next day. Mr Wooten came, quickly diagnosed the problem, and ordered the new part. He also defrosted the unit, and got it back up and running while awaiting the new part. When it came, it turned out that due to age, the part that was now available - significantly modified from original equipment - would have required complete removal of the built-in unit, at exorbitant cost. Instead, Mr. Wooten assisted me in contacting a module rebuild company that took my old part and remanufactured it for $150. That alone was a huge savings, because the "new" version had cost almost $500. He then installed it and tested the unit, up and running like brand new! He was patient, explained everything clearly, made a total of three trips, saved us a bunch on the part (as well as LOTS of labor charge if he'd had to remove the whole unit), showed up when he said he would, and was friendly and professional from start to finish. Just couldn't have asked for more. Absolutely the only company to call, and this was our third great experience with him, over a period of ten years and two homes. First rate!
