Everything is so good! We had Wooty-Que cater my son's wedding rehearsal dinner. It was a hit!

The Cubano is definitely a must get. The lechon bowl breaks down that meat over rice, beans, plantains and more. Current popup is in a shared market space with two other small foodie business, so check those out too. https://maps.app.goo.gl/29XJX4wE3LBvkS3f9?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy Parking, sucks with busy street parking, but there is a community teen center 1 block south that has good amount of parking. First experience, my friend and I were quickly greeted and seated - no detail was spared with the setting, menu, napkin holders, teacups and teapot cozies. Chef/owner, Christina introduced herself, the food and each item as they were brought to the table. :: Freshly made sourdough with house made loquat jam - wow the bread itself was buttery and really didn't need any accompaniments. Crunchy exterior, soft and pillowy. The spicy jam was so yummy and bought some after the event! :: Charcuterie for 2! It was plenty to be shared by 4 but won't complain. Dates, homemade crackers: sourdough and seeded, prosciutto, salami, marconi almonds, Marin cheeses and housemade bread and butter pickles, pickled garlic and onions. So good! :: Savory sandwiches: Japanese-style egg salad (some soft-boiled egg), Green goddess, and a monte christo with accompanying house-made strawberry jam. Simple but all nicely prepared and delicious! :: Sweets: so many to list (see pics) - all beautifully presented, not overly sweet and plentiful! Yummy This is the first tea party where I didn't leave hungry! And you'll have leftovers as everything was so filling and satisfying. I should've paced myself with the charcuterie! Event duration: 2 - 2.5 hours, 11-130pm Setup: 2 tables of 6 so unless you have 6 people you will be sitting with 4 strangers but will make conversation quick as the commonality is food! If you're an introvert you may want to invite friends/family to fill a table. :) With perfect weather, good food in a beautiful setting you won't be disappointed. Owner/chef, Christina and staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. I knew I would enjoy this event so much I had already booked the next event: Southern BBQ Luncheon ahead of time. Table for 6 fills up fast so make that reservation or be waitlisted! Thank you Christina for a great lunch! Note: Homemade jams, pastries (pre-order) and bacon available for purchase.

The pop-up operated from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and we showed up at 9:45 a.m., the line was already down the block. There were three burrito options on the pop-up menu: - Chx colorado: mild chile CA red sauce, mayocoba, jack cheese - Huitlacoche: shiitakes and oyster mush, jack cheese, black beans - Bean & cheese: frijoles negros, cheddar, red + green sauce Of the three options, my wife and I ordered a huitlacoche and bean & cheese burrito. Our friend ordered one of the chicken burritos so I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to try all three. Of the three burritos, it was honestly hard to choose a favorite because each one was so different in taste. I will have to say though, the bean & cheese burrito, despite being the most "normal" one of the bunch, seemed to be the one that everyone would order again out of the three. The star of the show for me though was the tortillas. The tortillas were toothsome and were grilled to perfection. I'll definitely have to pick up a pack next time I'm shopping down the street at Berkeley Bowl. If you're able to catch Xulo at a pop-up, I would definitely make room in your schedule to do so. The burritos here are delicious.

Similar to my previous review for Year of the Snake, Xulo was the Saturday pop up off 8th Street in Berkeley with a few different burrito menu options for the day including their notable bean & cheese, a meat option, and veggie option. Omg, what a treat! Everyone was so incredibly nice, and you could tell they have a really special thing going. They were selling their hot sauce too, and that was fire! I would love to try more items, but it's so hard to say no to the classic bean and cheese. It's just such a classic and when done correctly, chef's kiss! I'll have my eye out for their next pop-up in the area, and will most def be purchasing those tortillas. On their website it lists markets that sell the packaged tortillas like Picnic in Albany and Berkeley Bowl..nice!

Though wasn't a huge fan of the noodles, maybe I should try the garlic rice next time. Hibachi Soul Plate w/ Garlic Noodles: Lots of flavor, that's for sure. Both the meats and the noodles seemed to have a lot of seasoning. The noodles seemed like dried instant ramen though, when I was hoping they'd be more like fresh lo mein noodles. So the texture was not as chewy or springy. Lots of meat on top. The chicken kinda reminded me of that stringy soft thigh meat you might get from a halal chicken & rice food cart; the most plentiful of the three meats. There were only 3 shrimp and they had the shell on, so when you removed the shell you basically removed most of the seasoning and it was a little bland. Might have been better if they cooked up deshelled and seasoned shrimp instead. The steak felt a bit more like stewed beef chunks, but some good seasoning.

Plus you get to watch them grill the chicken, shrimp, beef, lobster, & rice. Enticing. Ordered the 3-Way Special. Chicken, beef, shrimp over buttered rice. So very good, with a bit of a kick. If you're a fan of spice, there was a table full of bottles. Sure wish I had sprung for the lobster tail also, but it was another $20. I'll be looking out for Sir Hands at the next street faire. They do catering too.
