Ropa vieja from Clandestina. Comes with beans, plantains, rice and a salad.

A little piece of the island with so much heart and an unmatched "sazón". We went on a rainy day and the special was ajiaco, a soup filled with chicken, potatoes and yuca and it's the kind of soup that gives you a hug and takes you back home. We then tried the Cuban, which even though it is of American origin (look for the article on Clandestina in the SF Chronicle) and it was like no other one we've had, the pork is perfect. A few days later we saw their pop-up at Berkeley Bowl and ordered the "ropa vieja" a Cuban specialty of shredded beef that came with beans, rice and plantains. So rich and flavorful. Just perfect. The owner is so nice and community-oriented and really elevates the Cuban presence in the Bay Area. The 14th street Eatery is a lovely space, with lots of tables and huge mural honoring the community and just good vibes. Go try out their food in San Leandro and now also every other Sunday in Berkeley Bowl West. --------- Un pedacito de la isla con mucho corazón y un sazón inigualable. Sabor casero que viene directo de Cuba. Clandestina definitivamente es un restaurante cubano que debes probar en la Bahía.

If I could give this 10 stars I would. My meal here today was truly one of the best meals I've had in the last few years. The combination of flavors was so exiting and delicious. The loaded yuca fries are my favorite! The Cuban sandwich is excellent and LOADED with meat. The flan is so smooth! I can't wait to go back and try the bowls. The owner was working and she is a literal angel. The dining area is cute, cozy, and super clean. It's housed in a E15th Eatery Kitchen so there are 2 other vendors in there too which is super fun.

Wow! The Cuban sandwich blew me away. Piled high with delicious lechon, it was a feast! Had a side of yuca fries and the limeade. Highly recommend !!

This is a one woman shop that sells delicious Cuban favorites! Came in on a Saturday at 3pm and the food hall was pretty empty. The owner warmly greeted us and provided great service. The food took a little longer (20-25 min) but it was worth the wait! Everything was tasty and had great flavor. My favorite was the loaded yuca fries while my partner loved the rice & beans combo. Definitely recommend and will come back again.

We got an order each of siu mai, har gow, pork potstickers, and Chinese hamburgers. Everything was good, my favorites were the har gow and pork potstickers, and har gow was surprisingly some of the best I've had. The line was long but moved quickly because most everything was already ready to go when you ordered. The only thing we had to wait for was the Chinese hamburgers. Also loved the chili oil here, it had a little bit of a sweetness and wasn't too hot. They should sell bottles of that!

Something added to tame hotness. -Shrimp Har Gow tasted slightly sweet from a mix of shrimp parts. Didn't have a crunchy sensation. This & Pork Siu Mai tasted freshly made. -Pork Siu Mai was all ground pork that was steamed. Maybe some green onions, soy sauce added. Definitely no shrimp like the B & M version. Quick, courteous, efficient service. Some tables for seating available at entrance of Farmers Market. 4 stars Worthy:YMMV Quantity: ok. Smaller pieces than usual. After a couple of hours sight seeing, we took a wrong turn and ended up in this town and stumbled onto this beauty. It's like a new generation of Thai food for us. Not at all what we're used to or have ever tasted. It was great! A very intimate, joyous fellowship broke out with great friends and an even better atmosphere. Seating is outdoors only and you're surrounded by flowers and the very vegetables we were about to eat. Very surreal! I believe it's the first time I've ordered food and they literally grew it outside the eatery. It was all delicious and I highly recommend you get lost and stumble into them, yourself. I will say the food was still delicious and I ate everything but with the blue rice that extra star would be there Expect No help To go only And missing items with the miss communication of rude service The reason stars fell off on my end The 2 stars I did give was just for the food still being delicious but that missing rice made it seem not amazing as the sit down locations aside from here And the other star was for it being close by to me so convenient I would had told all my family and friends but I will tell them to never go here unless you just want the food ok but check the items before leaving Go to their other locations the food and service is far way better than here

The catfish was hot and crispy, and the sandwich had a nice layer of lettuce and tomatoes and topped with a special Cajun sauce. It was delicious! I suggest eating it open-faced style. The catfish and fries were the only things worth eating -- crispy and actually good. Everything else? Low tier. The calamari was unevenly fried, the prawns were forgettable, and the oysters were the worst part. Instead of whole deep‑fried oysters, they gave us several oysters that had been chopped into halves and even quarters, turning into little oyster nuggets -- and those nuggets were fried way too hard, so you don't even get the real oyster experience. I've never seen anyone cut oysters like that. Overall, the food gets a C from me. I'm curious about their crab boil, but not curious enough to waste my money and risk another letdown. If you want good deep‑fried seafood, skip this place and find somewhere that actually knows what they're doing. Cashier was pleasant ambiance was nice.
