It is a spot that's going on my list of restaurants for our next visit. My husband and I split the clam strips - they had the best cocktail sauce I had in all of St. Augustine Beach! This restaurant was empty due to the off time of day we went but that doesn't excuse the fact that we needed to find a server to place our order. She brought our drinks to the table and when it was time for our food to come out she dropped half of the fries from one of the platters onto the floor. We ordered the fish dip appetizer which was sub par, it tasted like tuna fish salad. Another appetizer we ordered was the Gator tail which was overcooked and chewy. As a local, I am so disappointed. BLT on white bread. Sandwich was thrown together and all over the container. Tomatoes, lettuce and bacon were not in the sandwich, they were all over the container, no mayo, and wheat bread, not white like ordered, and doesn't appear it was toasted for more than 10 seconds. Lots of natural light on this bar area floor. There's also an outside dining area. Our orders of Eggs Benedict Florentine were silky hollandiase over perfectly poached eggs topping an English muffin with spinach and sliced tomato. A side of buttery grits accompanied this decadent dish and we ordered a side of smoked sausage to round this meal out. Our waitress was attentive and checked on us often. We have been to the location many times. It's a great little dive bar in a good location. I love that they have Corona Premier. They offer a great combination of food choices. The fish dip is worth a try. I wish I had the recipe. Pictured are shrimp tacos, also very yummy! We stop here every time we travel to St. Augustine. Sometimes multiple visits! They offer multiple seating options from inside, outside, upstairs, deck, and bar. It's family friendly and offers a kids menu. The kitchen closes around 9 pm so keep that in mind. Their fish comes blackened, grilled, or fried. We opted for the healthier grilled option. It was flaky and perfectly spiced. The twice baked potato was loaded with cheese, bacon, and sour cream. The salads used crisp spring mix, diced tomatoes, shredded carrots, and crispy croutons. The blue cheese dressing was loaded with large chunks of blue cheese. When combined with the cold beer, excellent mixed drinks and fine house salad this place is hard to beat. Its biker friendly too, with special parking -- and you can't beat the view of of A1A either. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for several months and finally was able to get there. Nikki our server was outstanding, the food (breakfast) was incredible. Everything was done to request and their cheese grits were to die for. Most restaurants can't get grits correct. Prices were reasonable. We had a nice conversation with the General Manager Kyle, who I knew from another restaurant and complimented him on what we observed. What was impressive is I watched 6- groups come in and as we were, they were greeted with an associate saying hello with a smile and serviced right away. Very impressive. The place has two dining areas, a diner like counter in another section and a great sports bar up top. I will certainly be back again and tell others. Return to Oasis, sat downstairs this trip, and found the food better than I remembered. Good selection of beers, I chose the Summer Shandy, Leinenkugal, cold and hit the spot. Ordered the shrimp with Caesar as one of my sides. The salad was surprisingly good, with very crispy croutons, no small feat in the Florida summer humidity! Shrimp were very tasty, fried and not greasy. Nicely done. I also had the broccoli as a side and it was great, Nicely steamed with butter but not sloppy with it. The onions rings rivaled those out of a supermarket frozen food section box from Jimmy Dean. Sorry I think that it's even offensive to Jimmy Deans products which are better than these onion rings!! Big Baked potato had potential but the cheese was enough to mask any potential flavor of everything on it. Maybe that was the intention! Stopped in on Black Friday for dinner and the place was busy as usual. We found a seat upstairs and ordered our meal. Service was great and the food was excellent. Oasis Fillet of fish was huge and would have fed two. Corned Beef Cabbage was the best my husband has had in years. Daughter said the Chicken Cesar wrap was great and the Conch Fritter appetizer was wonderful. We come in town about twice a year and this is always a stop for us. We will be back again.
