Last week, I popped into Kirkland's to take a look around. (I have not been here for a few months…read more I have to exercise a lot of shopping self control here). Anyways, I just eaten at Shake Shack which is across the parking lot. I noticed a lot of customers leaving the shop with almost every one of them holding bags. Hmmm, my curiosity was sparked. So off I go. Everything in the shop was on sale. 50% for outdoor items (outdoor furniture, gardening decor, etc), and 30-40% off other items. They have a limited amount of furniture (bookcases, consoles, dressers, coffee/end tables, sofas) displayed in the shop and more sold online. The shop is neat and tidy but showcases a lot of merchandise, so walking around space is tight. Staff is fantastic. So friendly, helpful, engaging, and approachable. They have folks walking and working the floor. And if you are curious if Kirkland's is affiliated to Costco. Nope. It is not. Kirkland's is a home decor retail chain. The first time I shopped at a Kirkland's, I asked the staff that same question.

Rod Works is a home decor shop in the Palladio shopping center in Folsom, CA. It is next to the…read moreoutdoor plaza. I happen to be walking by and the window displays caught my eye. So much so, the next thing I knew I was walking into the shop. I knew right away I was in trouble. I had to exercise a lot of self control. The merchandise was stylish, fun, and get this ... reasonably priced. The pricing varies from under $10 and upwards. Right now the merchandise included seasonal Halloween, Fall, and Christmas decor. But I did end up buying a $15 gray colored desk clock. I luved the color, easy to read large numbers, quiet non ticking operation, and the price. The staff was super helpful and welcoming. Things to Note: - Return policy is for items still in new condition. - Returns allowed within 10 days of purchase with original receipt and tags. - No return or exchanges on clearance items. - Cash transactions of over $125 will be issued with a corporate check.

Throwing away organic spices' containers purchased in manufacturers' packaging in PFAS BPA plastic wrappers, quasi-BPA free (are the containers truly BPA-free, eh?) containers, and disposing Scotch cellulose, chemical-laden sponges. Aside, I knew Home Goods would have air-tight, glass spice containers within their inventory; however, I couldn't find anymore glass spice containers. Still, I would have purchased more glass spice containers providing Home Goods would alert their Buyers purchasing as their high inventory turnover rather than low stock turn rate.

Last Christmas, I came looking for something special for my newest granddaughter. I found the cutest purple sloth and a sweet book called Good Night, Sloth. Unfortunately, my granddaughter loved her purple sloth a little too much and managed to mess it up! So, when I came back to Folsom, I knew I had to look for another purple sloth. They are so popular that the purple sloth is currently on backorder, but I found this big, super-soft sloth instead. It's actually an upgrade and will be perfect for her! My other daughter is expecting her first baby--a little boy! So, of course, we had to do some baby shopping. We found some adorable finger-puppet books and a Warmies dinosaur. So many cute things! But this store offers so much more than baby items. You can find things for your kitchen, bedroom, dining room, Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and so much more. There are unique gifts everywhere you look. I absolutely love browsing here! I only wish I lived a little closer. I live in Nevada, but whenever I come to California to visit my daughter, we're definitely going to make a day trip to Folsom. It's so close to her, and this store is always worth the trip. The people here are awesome, too! They even offered us some homemade cinnamon rolls, and they were AMAZING! There is also a Fine Jewelery section which you typically do not find at a busines like this. Setup like a department store... you may view the jewelry items under glass. Value? Well, the things I am typically looking for are artificial plants like a cactus for my patio or for an indoor area I am trying to refresh. They are extremely reasonable as opposed to Target or Home Goods. From reading the reviews, customers have found some nice items. The building is in historic old town Folsom on 608 Sutter Street. It's the big bright red barn structure. The front door is at the back parking lot behind Sutter Street between Greenback Lane.
