They resized my watch in less than 10 minutes! It was still kind of loose when I first got it fixed but I figured it would be fine. I should've listened to the manager when he said it was still too big but I was in a hurry so I just brushed it off. A couple of weeks later I decided that it IS too loose so I went back, waiting for them to say "I told you so". Son Nguyen is a true craftsman that knows his business extremly well. I brought my fogged Rolex to him after a weekend of playing in the water. He looked at it and ran a number of tests and then broke it down to inspect the cause. He did all of this while I was in his shop. He looked at it and recommended a complete cleaning. Said it would be ready in two weeks. He then proceeded to completly break down the watch and invited me to observe while he did it. I got a call to say the watch was complete before the time committed date and it looked like brand new. It was throughly cleaned with the case and band polished to look like new. World Time exceeded my expectations and did a first class job of cleaning my watch. I would strongly recommend this operation for any high end watch reapirs needed. read more

Just as I had read another reviewer.... I too had purchased a new watch (two actually), and brought them in to be adjusted since they had way too many extra links. The man who helped me, just took them in the back without even really glancing at my wrist. It took about 10-15min to have them both done & they fit perfect! I came by late on a Friday afternoon. The building is directly across the street from Bank of America and it's under construction. I parked in a 15 minute spot on the side street. Came here to get a battery replaced in my watch, and to have a link removed. They charged the same amount to replace the battery as one of the sketchy kiosks in the mall and I got it done by a professional. Plus they threw in the link removal gratis. My Casio watchband broke off so I decided to go to World Time since it had so many rave reviews. I was greeted immediately as I walked into the store. It took no time picking out the band and then he told me it would take only about five minutes to replace the band. They had a dish of candy and instant coffee for their customers which they offered to make for me. I usually don't like instant coffee but the brand they have was actually quite good. Came in for what I thought was a simple battery replacement, but turned out to be a battery that started leaking. The watch needed to be fully disassembled and cleaned out, along with ordering some new parts. Along with the service, the watch was polished, and one of the numbers on the watch dial was even replaced. World Time did an excellent job - watch looks near new after the polishing and is working flawlessly. It did take over 2 months to complete the work, so you may have to be patient. read more

I came in a few times in the last 2 years to have my watches serviced. Son is always courteous and he takes real good care of my watches. His fee is reasonable and service is reliable. Good, honest watchmakers are difficult to find, and here you'll probably find the best in San Jose. I've taken three different watches to World Time for major service, and several others for authentication or minor repairs, and have been very pleased with the results and customer service every time. The fellow who runs the place is a bit curt, but he's a craftsman not a salesman. He knows his stuff and is very detail oriented. Although the prices are not cheap, this is the only place I would trust to take care of my watches. I originally had a repair estimate for a 25 year-old TAG Huer at Torneau at Santana Row that was $100 more and 4 week lead time. I can't disagree with many excellent reviews for this shop World Time San Jose. I have Breitling sport chrono my daily watch. I need a master tune-up, I am very skeptical about the service outside Breitling manufacture. My friend, a watch collector who owns many super expensive watches highly recommends me to bring my Breitling watch to World time for tune-up. I met Son the owner, he is very friendly and professional. By looking at his work and knowing that the Watch Master has been trained and certified by Swiss watch manufactures, I feel totally confident about his work on my watch. I just picked up my Breitling watch today, my watch was a brand new and well polish. His work exceeds my expectation. It is truly extraordinary work done by Son. The price is very reasonable, it is less expensive service than Breitling. Two months I ago, I purchased an used Rolex. I was 95% sure this was real, but wanted to have an expert authenticate. Son did a thorough evaluation and assessment including putting it on a timegrapher. He allowed me to take pics and video of the movement and explained to me the results of timegrapher. I wanted to remove a link from a watch with unusual circular links, and each place I went to one afternoon sent me on to another place when they saw it. This was the third, and thankfully final, stop. They looked at the watch, immediately quoted me the (very reasonable) cost, and took it back to work on it. They removed two links, which was too much, so they added one back. An hour later, the link came off, but when I came back they immediately fixed it. In spite of that hiccup, I have already recommended this place to my mom for a similar watch, and will continue to recommend it to anyone who needs a watch repaired. read more
