I came across viu windows during my search for blinds installation a couple of months back. Gladys was the third company that gave me a quote and Viu windows was the most decently price out of the three options I had. Gladys arrive for the appt on time and was able to give me a quote right there and then which was pretty amazing. I believe in 24 or 48 hours we signed our contract and paid our down payment which was 50% and it was pretty much a waiting game from there for our custom blinds to come in. I think we ordered the blinds around may or June and they installed it in August. Gladys installer called me the day before stating that our blinds have arrived and is ready for installation. He immediately gave me an appt for the following day and it took them maybe 45 mins maybe less to install the blinds. One thing I really appreciated with Gladys was she was very understanding. I resigned from my job and my funds wasn't gonna be available until a couple of weeks after the day they were trying to install the blinds. Gladys was very understanding and I immediately paid my balance once I got my funds and they still installed my blinds even though I didn't pay right away. I absolutely love my blinds. It made my home look very spacious. I will definitely order the rest of my blinds from Viu windows and highly recommend this amazing business. Well, shame on me. I've been working with Gladys since 2013 when we moved into our condo and I could've sworn I had done a review already. We found her on Yelp and liked her from our first meeting. Gladys was understanding of our budget and didn't try to upsell or make us feel bad when we didn't put plantation shutters on all our windows (there were three big windows that had wooden plantation shutters and she said that they were high enough that one couldn't really tell they were different from the newer ones). Upon installation, our home looked even better! Being in a hilly neighborhood, a strange thing happened with our shutters for the patio. Gladys came by to check it out herself and sent out her installer a couple of times, no questions asked, when we called to let her know it was still being wonky. I took it for granted that it was part of customer service but realize now that she could have just brushed us off. Gladys cares about her clients and her products, holds her business in high regard, so she wants to make everything is good. When we moved again a few years later, we immediately called Gladys and she advised us again, based upon our budget. Besides a house alarm, window dressings were a top priority because we felt like we were in a fishbowl. With her expertise, Gladys helped us make sure everything looked cohesive yet helped us save money by suggesting alternatives to shutters for our windows facing the back. I actually love the vertical blinds she suggested for our patio doors instead of shutters! We chose large blinds for our non-front facing windows and, as someone who loves plantation shutters, I'm so glad we went with them. Gladys helped us make all our windows and patio doors look great without breaking the bank. And she is still there for us years later when there are repairs needed just by regular wear and tear (it's not free but it's a minimal cost which I appreciate because we want it done right). I've worked with Gladys on two homes. Both times she provided great service and feedback. For the first home, half of the house had plantation shutters installed by another company that carried Norman Shutters. Since that business closed, I had Gladys come out to provide an estimate on the remaining half of the house during our remodel. We live in a brand new construction house (7 months in) in San Ramon. We worked with Gladys at Viu Window & Home to get hunter douglas roller and honeycomb shades. She first came to our home last November to show us options and take some measurements of our windows. We weren't that impressed and a little upset that she took off her mask in our home during the heat of the pandemic, but ultimately, decided to go with her since the pricing was very reasonable. We placed our order and waited about 8 weeks to get our shades installed. Unfortunately, we were not happy with Randy, the installation team and his job. After he left, we noticed several scratches on our window sills throughout the house. In addition, he chipped the drywall / paint off the wall. We shortly thereafter notified Gladys about it and she completely brushed it off and ignored the subject. Her response was "well im sure a magic eraser can get it off" and "just have your builder fix the wall." That's not the point.... Gladys absolutely took no responsibility for the crappy job that her installation team did, the scratches and the wall issue, didn't apologize at all, deflected the subject, etc. Ultimately she took off $200 off our order, but now we have a wall to get fixed on our own that we wouldn't have had to do in the first place....and we're not even sure if our builder will take care of it since it's not their doing. Randy came back a few weeks later to replace some defected shades and was extremely rude to us about it. Told us that it wasn't his doing. And then started to point out other cracks in our house we know that we have due to our brand new house settling...which is completely different from his team dinging our brand new wall and scratching several of our window sills. Ultimately, I'd give this team a 3 - 3.5 rating, mostly due to the interaction with Gladys and poor installation from Randy. I will be sure to notify our development community of our experience as well and to be on the lookout. read more

We had a great experience working with Gladys at Viu Window and Home and highly recommend working with her. We have Eichler windows (with trapezoid upper windows) and were told by others there wasn't a good solution and that we'd have to obstruct our view in order to have shades on the upper windows. But Gladys looked at our windows and told us right away we had to find a solution that wouldn't ruin our beautiful view and she found one! We now have beautiful honeycomb remote controlled shades that work with our trapezoid windows. They take up so little room it's hard to notice they're there when the shades are open so the view isn't obstructed by unwieldy shades.
