I am really stoked to have discovered this place because there's finally a poke place south of Irvine. No more long trips to Pokinometry just to satisfy the poke craving. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The service is quick and painless even during peak lunch hours. I've gotten both the regular sized poke bowl and the monster bowl. Both have excellent portion sizes, but a regular sized bowl should satisfy all but the most serious of munchies. What I really like about the poke bowls here is the variety of what you can get on top of your bowl. You can get your usual assortment of raw fish but they also have tamago (egg) and tofu (why? why would you do this!?). My only complaint (more of me whining) is that they are open until 6pm and closed on the weekend :( Other than that, this is going to be a regular staple in my weekly diet. read more

This place is the best value for your money out of almost every place I've eaten. The regular bowl is a ton of food and it's not extra for all the toppings. This place is so close to my work! It can be hard to find if you've never been here. There is a lot of parking, but there is almost always a line for lunch. I would recommend coming early or eating a late lunch (which is what I usually do). If you love Pokinometry, you will definitely like this place. They have a very similar selection of fish as Pokinometry. Every bowl comes with a scoop of imitation crab and avocado! You can choose the spicy level. A couple of times I dined-in I recieved a free nacho with spicy tuna and imitation crab. It also had eel sauce on it. It was pretty good. read more

Okay so I usually use GrubHub to order some food for lunch when I can't get away from the office. I was so excited to see Wow Bento on the places near me that deliver because I love Poke Bowls. I figured I'd give them a shot since their prices seem really fair and other people had wrote good things about them. Well, unfortunately it definitely wasn't what I expected. The bowl came, and was completely boring to me. I got the salmon poke bowl with avocado, ginger, and green onions. I also asked for them to deliver a side of sliced lemons, when the delivery guy got here, he's like we don't have lemons.. (really? I doubt that). It didn't taste THAT bad (maybe cuz I was starving) Other poke bowl places I've been to are so full of flavor, the salmon is so bright and fresh and it just overall has better quality. You can customize your order with different toppings as well as change the spiciness level. The poke bowls taste fresh, yet the flavor is a little lacking. Maybe more sauce could be used on the fish. The prices are pretty cheap compared to other poke places, and you get three scoops of fish with the regular size. Came here after long bike ride with 3 other fellow bike riders. We all got the monster bowl which included 5 scoops of protein. I had 2 scoops of tuna. Scoops of salmon. Scoop of octopus and scoop of shrimp. Medium level spicy. That was perfect and so tasty. The other guys got hot and they said it was burning their mouth off with every bite. Ive been to almost every Poke place in the northern hemisphere. The food is not that bad (you cant mess up Poke THAT bad), but the portions are really small and the ATTITUDE they give you is what made me never wanna go there. Every Time i ask them for sauce on the side they get moody specially the old asian lady at the cashier. Today I asked the sauce guy to give me 2 sauces and I was surprised that he did. I got the monster bowl with just salad, added almost all the extra options. The portions were big (got 2 tuna, 2 albacore, and 1 scallop) and the fish was good. Liked the fact that the albacore was seared. I also got medium sauce. Now I am a spicy food guy but I would say it was more mild. Had a little tingle but not much. Will have to try spicy next time. Hidden gem. My only go-to poke place in South OC. The line is out the door at lunch and the parking lot is always full because this spot is hot. A lot of poke places aren't very generous with their toppings. The menu here actually has a CTA to ask for "everything" without getting hit w a charge for each topping. For $8-$9 for a poke bowl, with unlimited toppings (with the exception of the fish, of course), this place is well worth it. Light, quick, tasty, and relatively inexpensive. Sometimes I just want a little lunch sushi without the commitment and this addresses that well. Best food and service by far - I am definitely in love with this place! Overall experience was great. The fish was fresh, the food tasted great and the service was overly courteous. My boyfriend and I ordered the poke bowl and customized it the way we wanted. I have never tasted anything so fresh, and I thought the entire concept was deliciously creative. The price was also very affordable, it was like nothing out of pocket. We visited here in the afternoon, ordered two poke bowls and dined in. The chef brought over a special appetizer on the house which I thought was very nice. The food was great, even with nachos...(who would have thought) Then as we were prepared to leave it started pouring. The employees brought out two umbrellas and walked us out to our car. Not only it is Dry but Old. This place is lunch service done well and to the point. The Korean family making your poke bowls are the owners. Even when packed, the line goes fast, and you get your food fast. Fish is consistently fresh. Shrimp, if you choose it, is not overly shrimpy in flavor. Avocado is free. They have one dressing with different levels of spiciness. Soy Sauce and wasabi come in plastic packets. Optional toppings like seaweed, sesame, ginger. There's even a guy around to take cans and bottles out from the trash. FREE delivery within 2 miles of the company! Ordering is pretty easy, but I would recommend using the Yelp Eat24 app for it. I work in the area around Irvine Spectrum, which puts me just under 2 miles away from this place. There's no more need to leave the workplace to get lunch! But FYI: there is a $15 minimum order for the free delivery. It came in about 30 minutes. The driver came to the back door, but no one was there but immediately called me. Next time I'll be sure to make a note to come deliver through the front. Comparable to Pokinometry in Anaheim (basically the same exact idea). I like to think of it as eating poke, but in a Chipotle-style bowl. You get your choice of rice, up to 3 types of fish, and toppings such as cucumber, guacamole, and crab meat all for once price! I found Wow Bento in 2014 through Yelp after trying to find a poke place located closer than Pokinometry. 3 years later there are poke places almost on every corner but Wow Bento is still my favorite poke shop. It's a small shop but over the years the ingredients have always been fresh, service has been great. I've ordered take out and delivery service with ease (I believe they currently do not offer delivery anymore). Bowls have stayed cheap at $8 and they do not charge for the crab meat or the avocado! They do a great job of mixing the sauces, they keep it simple but all the ingredients are balanced and you can taste the fish! Great little place, it's a bit of a bummer they close at 6pm and aren't open on weekends, but luckily I work in the area so I get to enjoy Wow Bento! read more

Wow bento is a pretty standard, Korean-owned poke restaurant. It was quite busy, but understandably so, since it's in surrounded by a bunch of corporate looking buildings and it was lunch time. I liked how their menu was a lot more straightforward than other poke places. But that's just personal preference.. I'd imagine someone who wanted more personalization with their bowls wouldn't like it here too much (specifically the sauce selection.. just spicy levels here). They had a good selection of fish / stuff and everything tasted pretty fresh! My cousins asked for this korea spicy sauce that's not on the menu and they had it in the back fridge!! I'm guessing that is the base of the spicy sauces hahaha. But they were kind of annoyed that my cousins asked for that sauce... but didn't refuse which was nice. I should've been checking in on Yelp since this place opened. I go here 2-3x a week, and I've introduced probably 15+ coworkers and friends who are now almost as obsessed as I am... so you can probably see where this review is going. I love Wow Bento! The food is fresh and amazing and the people there are fast, friendly, and definitely go above what you'd expect of a sidestreet poke shop. It's also very consistent which I've found to be problematic at other poke places, and they're even cheaper than almost any other poke place I've been! My go to is the poke bowl with white rice, avocado, crab meat, cucumbers, all salmon (mild or medium), and masago to finish it off. I've been to a few poke joints and Wow Bento is still my favorite. Even though they're not as fancy or hip compared to the other places but their poke bowls are way better. I love how fast and convenient it is to order here. I would highly recommend ordering for take-out first (either on Yelp or Eat24) so you can skip the long line when you come to pick up your food, especially around lunch time when the line can be quite long. Ordering is easy enough with their huge signs outlining each step to show new customers how to order. I usually order the monster bowl which comes with 5 scoops of fish (my favorite combo is a scoop of albacore, salmon, scallop and two scoops of octopus) with other toppings and garnishes that you can choose from. They are extremely generous with their fish and sides so you will be stuffed for sure after your monster bowl. The place is embedded in a business plaza so don't be confused when you gps your way there. Look for a long flag to turn in so you won't get lost. I've only been to 5 different Poké places. But when I do eat elsewhere (usually due to desperation), I have to come back here to satisfy my tastebud. Wow Bento is convenient, efficient, affordable, and friendly. The flavors of the sauce are well-balance. They give more than enough fish and condiments. The rice is well flavored and cooked.
