Amazing fresh fish. My choice is the SMALL SEAFOOD PLATE* 1/3 pound of choice of fish & 2 sides. The choice of fish depends on the fish caught that day. They usually have a few choices but, my favorite was the Wahoo. Eating here makes you feel like you are making a healthy choice with the fresh fish and sides. They also have a fresh fish market to go so you can take home fish at prepare at home if you want. Appetizers, sushi bar, and rolls also available.

Repeat order on the burrito and always fresh, not a big fan of the poke bowl though this time. Too bland. Have had much better other places. Generally ok food, nothing too crazy worth waiting in a long line. I've had other items at other visits and feel the same about most the menu. Dude taking the order could have been be a little more helpful at the front on this visit.

We came here around 6:30 PM for dinner and ordered the tuna poke and the La Bamba roll. Both were super delicious! You place your order with the cashier at the front, and the food is then brought out to your table. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and I especially enjoy sitting outside when the weather is nice. Bear Flag Fish Co. is one of my go to spots for poke whenever I'm visiting socal.

What a cute place. It can get pretty packed here. Some indoor seating & a lot more on the patio. Order at front register & they bring you your food. The dynamite sushi roll was perfect. So fresh & delicious. One of the best I've had. Another visit I wanted the blackened grouper sandwich that was on special, but they were out already. I got the plate with shrimp, black beans, & veggies. Shrimp was great. The veggies were a nice mix & prepared nicely. The black beans were ok, a little plain. The chips & guac are a huge serving. So good, but I wish they had 2 sizes. My husband loved the corvina fish. Everything is fresh & simply prepared. Great place.

The ahi poke was pretty good, and it came with chips. The poke seemed fresh, and the sauces were good with a bit of spice. I would have preferred less sauce since it masked the flavors of the fish a bit. The chips were average and not too salty but had a slightly off taste. The line took awhile, but the food was served immediately.

Located at the Lido Maria Village in Newport Beach. If you're in the mood for some seafood or even some sushi, come check this place out! They have many choices of drinks to choose from as well including Arizona, Gatorade, beers and wines! I Came here on a Saturday after enjoying the beach nearby. It wasn't super packed and was able to order my food rite away. There is plenty of seating and tables inside. There are some bar seats. Also many tables and outdoor seating available to enjoy the nice evening weather. I ordered the specialty burrito with Ahi poke as the choice of meat. The burrito took less than 10 minutes to be prepared and served. Very fat, very wet and very flavorful! Such a refreshing entree. Cost was 14 and some change but very well worth it. I didn't see any needs of improvements, that is why I'm giving them 5 stars

This place is the bomb! There is usually always a line, but luckily a moose pretty fast. We love their Aji, pokey, and their salmon pokey is really good as well. I also usually get a side of veggies, which is a decent amount for the price you pay. The fish tacos are also fresh. Everything we've had has been pretty good. I feel like the rolls, though are a little pricey for the amount you get. It's her go to pokey place when we're in that direction. SYOY!

Awesome seafood. Stepped out the movie theater and saw a bunch of people eating here. Figured must be good - and did not disappoint. Lots of great choices. Opted for clam chowder, ahi poke bowl, hurricane roll and of course hazy IPA. Found a seat by the bar- non stop people coming in. Food was delicious. Very chill place.

The fish tacos were some of the best fish tacos I have ever had. I heard a tip from a local to put soy sauce on it and it was incredible. We ended up coming here twice on our vacation just to eat the fish tacos again. The staff was kind and the food came out quick. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the counter and they give you a table number. They then bring the food out to you!! Highly recommend if you are looking for a tasty restaurant.

I've heard about this place for the longest time and got to try it out! I got the Togo Poke Bowl: White Rice, 1/4 lb Salmon, Crunchy Chili Garlic, Furikake, Green Onion, Kale, Seaweed Salad, and Tommy Sauce. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I needed to satisfy my raw fish cravings. Wish there were more options for me to add to the bowl since they're missing some of my key toppings! Avoid going during lunch time or the wait might back you up! It gets busy!

Hit Bear Flag Fish Co. in Newport Beach (PVH) around 11:30 AM on a sunny Saturday, perfect timing. By the time we left at 1:30 PM, the line was out the door and wrapping around the building. The Food: Had a couple of beers, the famous Bear Flag taco and a Bear Flag sushi roll. Pro tip: If you order the roll from the counter, it's pre-made rather than rolled fresh when you sit in the bar. That said my pre-made still hit the spot. The Vibe & Parking: The atmosphere is great. I love the mounted fish and the laid-back ocean vibe. However, non-valet parking on a busy Saturday is a total circus. If you're like me and hate paying for $$ parking, get there early or bring plenty of patience.

Popped in for lunch on a random Saturday. Weather was nice and this place was hopping. Decided to dine in and ordered chips and guac the fish burrito and the fish taco. Also a nice glass of sauvignon blanc. Walk up style place so stand in line and take a number. Someone will bring you your food and drink. Guacamole was good, could have used a little more heat and acid for my personal preference but still good. Hubby lived his burrito but it was a lot to eat. We could have shared than in hindsight. My taco was really good and just the right amount of food. Next time I would for sure split the burrito and do the ceviche. I did not taste it but it looked amazing and I saw many people order it. People watching is amazing here and it's a great balance of being able to eat quickly and linger if you so desire. For sure plan to return.

I always get excited when I see a Bear Flag Fish around! This location is packed so be prepared to wait in a line or go far to search for seating but the food is so worth it. I will say, parking at lido marina can be a bit tricky as there's a couple parking areas but there is an outdoor parking lot that is across the street from bear flag that I always go to for free parking. I love the ahi poke and the fish burrito the most, but I've tried some other dishes in the past and I love that it's just consistent, clean, high quality seafood that I can definitely fit in when I'm trying to eat healthy. They taste the same from the Crystal cove and Huntington beach locations. Also don't miss out on their sauces (I didn't know about them for the longest time and FINALLY saw them in the back near the to go area).

My friends ordered clam chowder bowls, which were served right away, and they were done eating before I even received my burrito. I also noticed a dog on one of the outdoor dining tables directly outside the restaurant, which raised sanitation concerns. Bear Flag later explained that those tables are public seating and not owned or controlled by them, those were their customers and it still impacts the overall guest experience since the area is right by the restaurant entrance. I wonder if the health department would be ok with them ignoring their customers creating a health code violation. When I reached out, the response felt dismissive rather than helpful. They said 25 minutes is fairly standard because they're one of the busiest restaurants in Orange County. I would have appreciated more accountability and a more customer-focused response. The experience left a bad impression.
